So I was running CM 7.2 with no problems what so ever and decided to try a new rom, I didn't like it and did a complete format of my system (Data, emmc, System, Cache, Dalvik Cache. and reinstalled the same CM7.2 and Gapps I ran before.... (Latest one for CM7) yet now when I load up the rom it will not let me download Gmail from the playstore, it says its not supported by my device - I have even tried clearing the playstore and uninstalling, nothing works!
I checked my Build.Prop and its still set at 160 - so at this point I am out of options and could use some advice.
My two advices for you are:
Try reinstalling all again (factory reset, clean caches, install again correct rom and gapps versions), maybe its a failed install.
This is the development forum, general questions or doubts go on the general forum or Q&A forum, NOT here.
Good luck with your Nook.

I have the same problem after a factory reset with MROM. Any other suggestions?

Hey,
I am having some issues with CyanogenMod, seems to be all versions from old to new, crashing. Any time I open an app, or use the dialer, it will crash, and force close on the app.. Any ideas?
I would say do what I did...I was always going after the experimental build and then back to stable and I would get the crash. For me I wiped twice in a row then I loaded the stable rom and that cleared my issues.

Yes, posting in the correct section of the forum helps.
Run the partition fix from cyans recovery. Doing this after flashing the new rom fixed this issue when I had it.
Start asking your questions in the right sub-forum (Q&A) (Theme) or even in (General), or simply search.......Final result will be a ban for you up too 3 days.
Thanks
Thread Trashed!!
I successfully installed a rom called USBWOOT.zip (thanks to all the hard work of the developers here, thanks so much guys!) however after doing a little more research I saw someone say the cm9 rom was better (latest one is here I think: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411895&page=210)
I've also seen a MIUI version.
Is there some kind of chart showing the pros and cons of each?
I also have some other noob questions:
Can I flash a new rom (like an updated version, or a different rom?) without losing all my settings, accounts, apps, etc? Or do I have to do a factory reset every time and start over?
Why I ask is I flashed the USBWOOT.zip originally, but it looks like the latest version (in that post I linked to) cm9-02-19.zip has some updates that sound really nice (especially the 200ms to 80ms wait time on screen change)
Since I flashed USBWOOT.zip originally do I need to do a factory reset first or can I just flash cm9-02-19.zip? If I have to do a factory reset will I lose all the accounts, apps, etc?
Thanks for all the help!
That cm9-02-1* roms are follow ups to USBWOOT.zip, they are build from the same source, it just uses a different name coding. Usually all build in that thread are very similar, even if they are build from different people and are named differently since our development is open source.
I would try it first without a total wipe, if you have any unkown problems then do a total wipe. (But a total wipe from time to time isn't a bad thing, since these days many things may change between versions)
MIUI uses a different launcher & other stuff.
I just updated to the latest build of CM9 as well. So far so good. Here is the link too. http://www.mediafire.com/?tnoxgzcgop46odm

Can you link us to the thread of the developer who compiled this Rom? Someone may want to read the discussion before blindly flashing an unknown zip file.
if its the same rom but just an update, you should get away with just flashing it on top and wiping dalvik cache. as always BACKUP FIRST and then resore and wipe if its not working like it should.
dont go with MIUI yet as its had way less work done and it doesnt even have USB ready.
It Worked
Thanks guys! I was able to flash the latest version without having to do any wipe or factory reset.
I am loving my new and improved Kindle Fire.

hi guys, i don't have enough posts to post in the development section yet!
So i'm making my thread here. I'm curious as to how to upgrade cyanogenmod 10 nightlies on the lx nexus 4 without erasing any of your data or apps you have installed. is this possible?

You should read through the cyanogen thread, and if you ever have questions do a search on the forums before posting a question because it's probably already been answered.
Make a backup of your apps with another app like Titanium backup in the playstore. Or another app that will backup and restore your apps.
When you upgrade your ROM your saved items will stay on the emulated sdcard on your phone, so your backed up apps will stay on there.
If you have to wipe everything on your phone someday, just transfer your backups to your desktop.
Read this root guide, the second post will tell you about backups.

I highly recommend you download Cyandelta for using CM Nightlies, you'll be downloading 8-20MB instead of ~150MB. Using it's openrecovery script it can auto install via TWRP, too.
Could someone please tell me if I'm doing something wrong here. I've installed the 174 build and now my screen is black. I've tried numerous flashes, but no luck.
I'm posting my question here, as I can not in the actual forum.
Thanks!
Install the latest nightly. It was a bug.
MyXoom runs perfectly. The latest at the time of this post is EOS-wingray-20130306-180.zip. I use recovery TWRPv2.4.1.0.zip. When you flash your ROM make sure you flash the EOS-wingray-####-###.zip along with gapps-jb-20130105-EOS-XOOM-ONLY.zip at the same session. If your coming from another ROM or EOS 3 (build 155 or earlier) you should install after a factory reset. I had problems when I went to EOS 4 because I didn't do the factory reset or flash the ROM and gapps at the same time. Make sure to flash the gapps file "gapps-jb-20130105-EOS-XOOM-ONLY.zip" as this is the one built especially for EOS 4.
I also can't post in the Devs forums because of not enough posts. I have to find more to post so I can go in and thank the devs for the great work they are doing for us. BRD and runandhide05 thanks for the great work keeping my Xoom alive and kicking.

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy Note 3 with the latest Resurrection Remix ROM installed. Installed the ROM with a clean flash and everything was working fine (I thought...). Now, every time apps crash. For instance: when I want to upload a video on Instagram, everything works fine but when I hit the ''cut'' button to cut the video, it crashes. Every time at the exact same moment. Same goes for Snapchat when I want to upload a photo or video, it immediately crashes. I have installed the ROM multiple times, I have reinstalled the apps, but nothing works. I'm not using exessive amounts of RAM, so that's not the problem either. I don't see other people with the same ROM having these problems, so I really don't know where to look for a solution. Hoping you guys could provide me with an answer!
Edit: also worth noticing: my phone automatically restarts at least 3 times a day when I'm in the middle of something (like writing a message in WhatsApp).. Never found a solution for that either!
Thanks in advance!

I wiped cache and dalvik before installing. I have also checked in de DEV thread, but there I see no one with the same issues. I have not tried a different Kernel, how can I do that?

You can find Kernel threads also in Development Forum. Make sure to flash Kernel Cleaner zip file before changing back to stock Kernel. You can flash Kernel zips via recovery. (search the Kernel Thread)
