hi everyone!
i just got my mda pro today, and its really cool!!
i previously had a an imate ppc phone device...
i was wondering if anyone could help me with connecting my device with my laptop...
what i know is, the universal and my laptop both support wifi...is that good enough to connect them? or do i need to buy a router or something?
any help, i'd really appreciate!
thanks!

Hi
I found some topics about that but some are old ,
how can I plug ethernet cable on iconia , I was thinking about USB adaptor but I didn t find name of product wich works.
Is it a prob of iconia or andoid ?
thanks
You'd need drivers for any device. Kernel modules, dunno if the Android kernel has any built already though. Should be easy enough to get some of the most common ones compiled though.
Hi
you mean I buy one, go to website of the supplier and try to find driver for android ?
I didn t think it was so easy
the best device for this, wifi router
You just plug in the ethernet cable and than...go wireless
ah yes I tried to use USB but you are right WIFI router is an other way, and in this case probably easier thanks
an other question about this wifi router, is it possible to use with all network ?, I mean my issu is when I am at the hotel ( very often ) and have only ethernet cable to connect .
I'm going to guess this is a laptop your using. Set up internet connection sharing and establish an ad-hoc connection to the tablet....profit.
If you're at the hotel with a desktop for some reason you can always plug the wifi USB adapter into it as well.
today when I travel I have 2 laptops , company laptop which is totally locked and I can not anything and I carry my own . I wanted to avoid to bring mine and use tablet .
it s why maybe wifi touter is good idea but don t know if I can just plug on hotel network .
You should be able to, just have to config it as an access point. It will basically act as a switch with wireless.
hey guys and girls;
for various reasons i want to be able to use cat5 with my tablet, i have found this:
www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007RTACDM/ref=aw_d_detail?pd=1
but it says it wont work with samsung as they dont support wired internet, is that something that is in custom roms? i was planing on using a dock, maybe with a otg usb connector or something, is there a better way of getting cat5 on my tablet?
if not, has anyone had much luck with other tablets and what im trying to make happen?
Hi all, I've searched hard for this...
I just bought a D-Link Wireless N 150 USB adapter because I though it might help getting wifi reception on my Nexus 7 in my bedroom where it is currently poor.
I have a OTG adapter so I figured I could plug it in with that and off I go!
...The problem is installing the software.
The USB stick comes with a mini cd-rom with the software on it which makes it tricky to get it on to the Nexus.
So. I suppose my question is threefold:
1) Firstly, can this USB wireless thing work on my Nexus?
2) How can I make it work?
Wait, that's just two.
Help will be much appreciated and I will rampant with my thanks.

Why should you use a external Wifi-USB-thing? I think the Nexus has Wifi, thats enough. Its like putting two keyboards on one pc...
What you need is a Wifi-Repeater.
And that little guy is available on Amazon.
So much fun with your Nexus.

Hey hey! Thanks, yeah I just thought that it could be used to also boost the wifi signal, it just cuts out in my room. But I have also ordered a repeater
Hi all,
I wondered if someone knows a method to use my device as WiFi adapter to my PC (Via USB).
I'm not talking about USB Tethering, I want to use my device to search and\or connect to WiFi networks, all from my computer - like I have a real WiFi adapter.
I have HTC One X if this matter.
Thanks ahead.
No, sadly not. But why not just buy a USB WiFi adapter?

Hmmm ... That would require u to mess around with a bunch of scripts and ull need a driver so u might just be able to do this with a linux system ...anyway
I dunno how but it's possible yeah ... Only u'll have a smart and pretty expensive wifi adapter
I dont know how to do that with a phone but i can do it with a router that has dd wrt.
Its called a Repeater Bridge.
Good Luck!
Never heard about that a phone use as a router.. i recognized phone use as a modem.
