I noticed this problem while using sidebar. After a while it would stop working and I would have to raise the sensitivity level of the sidebar.
Turning on pointer location in developer options I can see that about 3mm on each side doesn't register touch. Restarting the phone fixes it but only temporarily
Anyone else have this problem?

Hi guys,
I just noticed that the left side of my leo seems not to recognize when I touch it. With left side I mean 3-4 mm are on the whole left edge of the display where if I click nothing seems to happen. You can test it easily in calendar or in Finger keyboard in horizontal mode (90 degrees rotated display).
Anyone else has this problem?
Could it be that it's not calibrated properly ?
I think you don't have to calibrate this kind of display.
Did you try this? =

The device doesn't make you do this when you first boot it but I found it solved my problem.
go to....
settings >> menu >> all settings >> system >> screen
I advise you not to use a stylus to do this but your finger - may be a bit tricky but if you can touch the crosses accurately enough with your finger you will find this benefits you when using everything.
I also turned on ClearType as I always had that on and default is off.
hope it's not been mentioned already.
Calibration didn't help that specific problem.
Now I was checking and there seem to be 3-4mm border all around the display which doesn't recognize touches. Do you guys have that too?
Yup. Notice it on text messages, so say you type 4 lines and you notice a mistake at the end of line 1; trying to touch the end of the word, at the end of the line can be tricky as it is on the 'border region' so to speak.
Thanks for confirming, I started to worry that I may have a defective unit.
It would be great if more people could confirm this too.
do anyone of you notice this bug...
1) when the phone is placed on table flat(with screen facing up), there is nothing wrong...
2) when the phone is place upside down (with screen facing down, when you have the phone on bed and over your head), then without having the stylus pen actual touches the screen, the screen senses it and leave a mark.
it even can activate any icon...
is this me only or general bug?
It effects all Notes. Its a known issue with this digitizer.
Basically touch is registered without pen actually touching the screen when you are using it laying on bed where screen is facing down. It registers from about 3-4 millimetres away.
I'm trying this right now as I post this and I can't seem to replicate the issue...

I'm having this same issue..didn't realize that it only happens when it's faced down..well,hope there'll be a fix soon.
Ok, so I use SwipePad and PA's pie to swipe from the left and right edges of the screen. Now randomly I can't do that anymore because for some reason the touch sensitivity just broke(?) when swiping from the left and right edges. This happened on my old Nexus too. Now I'm forced to rearrange where I have my swipe points. Has anyone else come across this problem of not being able to swipe from the edges?
Edit: Problem was related to Touch Control creating dead zones on the edges.

How did you solve the problem. I've got the same issue, but can't solve it just knowing its the TouchControl.
Thanks in advance
Please can anyone help me since I moved to Note3 (from a Note1) I now suffer from a problem that I never had before and that is when I touch an icon to open an app instead of opening the app the screen flicks to the next page(screen).
If I am very positive in touching the app icon this does not happen, but I never had to be so positive with Note1 switching from screen to screen required a bit more than a little wobble on an icon.
Is there a way I can reduce the sensitivity of this screen switching?
Thanks
Sam
Now I know this problem has been asked before but after some extensive searches I can see there are no clean fixes for this.
My Nexus 4 (Android 5.0.2 LiquidSmooth ROM) has started showing ghost touches at the bottom part of the screen. I know there are a lot of explanations available such as digitizer not working, battery being too old etc. But I'm not interested in these hardware issues/fixes.
I have isolated the area of effect as the bottom ~160 pixel height of the device. I then proceeded to use the ADB shell command
wm overscan 0,0,0,160
which removed that portion from the UI. This fixed the effects these phantom touches have on the apps or UI. But a problem still remains that these ghost touches happen in too many numbers and this leaves other usable areas of the screen insensitive to touch. I am guessing this is due to the multi touch limit being reached in that bottom unused part itself. Multi touch testing apps dont pick up touches on the top part of the screen
So my question is, is it possible to remove a part of the screen from the System itself? Ideally a thick black bar of unused area, leaving me with a shorter yet fully working screen? Or atleast is it possible to turn off touch response in that lower part of the screen so that it doesnt max out the multi touch limit?
My Nexus 4's is same too
I think, that ghost touch will work from Screen Digitizer. My Nexus 4's screen digitizer was non-LG's digitizer, it was fake. I need to change that digitizer
I workaround this issue avoid using undervoling in the kernel, and avoid lower temperatures in phone, yes as you read ... this issue give my crazy when my phone was to hot and I tried to cold my phone using one ice cube in screen and back, the temperature of the phone down but ghost touches appears again, so played some videos to warm the phone again and dissapear again.
Don't ask me about how it works, or relation with screen, digitizer or battery, I don't understand but help me to workaround the issue.
