I have a Nexus 7 3G and Xperia S (both are running Android AOSP 4.2.2). For the Xperia S, if I hold press volume up / down, it changes the song playing to either next / previous, this will also happen with double clicking on the microphone button on my handsfree. However, with the Nexus 7 this is not possible and the only way to change the song is to either access the lockscreen or the player itself. Is there any way possible I can add this on the Nexus 7? I find it a very useful feature. The Nexus 7 is running complete stocked (Rooted, Unlocked, with Superuser installed) while the player I am using is ZPlayer.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Would very much appreciate it  .

would also like this feature:good:
Can anyone else share any inputs? It seems such a simple feature to request really :crying: . I've searched endlessly for a solution, even a flashable zip to no avail.

Hello,
Super Noob here. I am using the above build and really loving it. Everything that I tried works well and smooth. I just have only one issue. When playing music on either the stock player or poweramp, I cannot control the volume if the LCD is off. That is as soon as the LCD turns off (but music is still playing) the volume buttons does not do anything. With poweramp I was also able to skip tracks with a different build (American Android), but I can not do that either. Anyone else also have the same issue? Is there any known solution to it? Sorry, if that has been answered somewhere else, but I could not find anything by searching. Thanks in advance.
Hey Guys,
I have a quick question about headset button controls.
Back in 4.2 I was able to start and stop music with a single click of the button, skip tracks by double clicking, and voice search with a hold of the button. All with the screen off.
After going to 4.2.2 I seem to have lost all functionality except for the single click pause/play.
I thought maybe it was a stock android thing, so I tried a few roms and still, nothing. My next thought was it was a hardware thing, so I tried the same test on my Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2 and still... nothing (although when the screen is on all the functionality is there)
Is this a known bug? I really want my functionality back as it's very helpful when I bike, I've tried apps like jays headset or whatever and they are just cumbersome and lame, so I'm curious if there's a way to bring this back?
I'm running the latest PA (4.2.2 obviously) with single button skullcandy earphones and the Jays headset control app and I can do a double tap to skip song and triple tap to go back as well as the standard play/pause functionality so I'd recommend reinstalling the Jays app and messing around with some of the settings to try to get it to work. One thing I do know (and it's absolutely ridiculous) is that you can no longer press and hold to perform any functions which just seems quite odd to me.
I have done some searching and can not find any help so I come to you the experts. I have a Galaxy s4 running FreeGS4 v2.0.0 with the 3.4.10 agat_Freegs4 kerenal. The problem only seems to show up when I have Bluetooth connected and also only seems to happen when I have a custom kernal installed. when I am using my stock media player it will randomly pause, advance to next song, rewind to previous song, or increase/decrease volume. The problem seems to get more and more frequent the longer I use the app. When I reboot the phone it seems to go away for awhile then comes back. I had this same trouble when I had my galaxy s3 as well. Is it possible that it is a setting I have wrong when running a custom kernel? or maybe it is is not even related to the kernel and I am just betting on the wrong hand? Please help because this is really annoying.
Guys - ever since switching to my S4 I can get this to work.
I use PowerAmp and am on stock, rooted.
Id like to be able to skip songs (while driving) without having to see the screen.
I used to be able to do this on my Skyrocket and Custom Rom with the Volume Up/Down buttons or by shaking.
I havent managed to get either to work on my new setup. Any advice on whether/how I can achieve this?
Thanks.

I think you have to double tap the play/pause button. That is how you do it with most of the players including the stock one and Rocket Player

Search for Xposed framework and install that, then install the Wanam Xposed module from the Play Store. The option is in the sound category

Hello,
I would really like to use a Nougat rom on a daily basis, but this is impossible for me because of a thing that may sound really simple - the headphones control button doesn't work on any custom rom that is not stock based(so any AOSP etc.). This is essential for me as I am cycling A LOT and I need this stupid button to receive/end calls and play/pause music.
The only way I can make it work on custom roms is by installing Xposed Additions - but it only works up to Android 6.0.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

I have a mi headphones pro and they are working absolutely well. The volume up and low buttons work while the middle button on pressing once plays/pauses songs, double pressing plays next song and triple pressing players previous song.
I am on LOS.
