I apparently flashed one too many times and now I am able to only pull up the TWRP recovery but there are no back ups. It seems I wiped them all out unknowingly,it says i have no OS on it now.
My question is; how do I get this up and running again? Any help will be greatly appreciated....
Do you have any TWRP backups stored on your computer? If so, you can use adb to send those backup files to your nexus internal sdcard and restore them through TWRP. You can also put your backup files on a USB stick and connect it with your nexus 7 using a USB-OTG cable (then select external storage in the restoring menu).
If not, then you'll have to (re)flash stock with fastboot. You can use a toolkit or do it manually (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796).
Good luck!

Not sure how to flash a recovery, ADB does recognize my device...TWRP comes up but that's it..
Easiest way would be to sideload a ROM zip using ADB.

You can flash a custom recovery with fastboot:
- Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
- fastboot flash recovery [name of recoveryfile]
I use the most recent TWRP downloaded from their official website.
If you have made a nandroid backup with TWRP, you can restore it in the restore menu in TWRP. Make sure the restore folder is on your internal sdcard or on a USB-stick connected with an OTG-cable.
If you never made a nandroid backup or can not find any:
- then you can flash a (custom) ROM with TWRP. There are lots of good quality roms available in the XDA forums (paranoid android, clockworkmod, stock ....
- or you can flash the original stock from google. You will have to reboot to the bootloader and use fastboot to flash stock (use the link I provided early).
It's not that difficult.
fixed
OTG cable did the trick, absolutely impossible to find the cable in a local store but ordered on e-bay and problem solved.
Thanks for the help....:good:

Do you have a computer? You said something about usb support. You need to plug your usb cord into the computer and connect your nexus 4. It gets a lot more complicated in the next few steps so let me know if you can plug in your nexus 4.

There's 3 main components.
1) Bootloader
2) Recovery
3) System
If you have previous rooted your rom, then you most likely have a custom recovery, such as TWRP or CWM.
If you can get into recovery, then you can mount your data partition, and do something like
adb push name-of-rom-file.zip /sdcard
and any other zips you need.
From there for clean-measure you can format /system , /cache and dalvik-cache, then go to "Install" and choose the rom zip you wish to install (though if you plan on using a rom different than your original you may wish to do a 'factory reset' in recovery to clean the main /data area to avoid settings conflicts).
Once you've installed the roms + addons you want, you should be able to reboot into it.
If you did not root your rom, and likely do not have a custom recovery, that's something that can be installed via fastboot from the bootloader, so let us know which options you have available to you.
This can go easy or hard depending on how much knowledge you have of ADB and Fastboot, or if you instead used a toolkit to do it for you (meaning you wouldn't easily know where to run adb/fastboot).

Went to install an updated ROM and went into recovery. Wiped. Then went to install ROM and its not there! Crap. I decided to mount and then transfer a ROM, it will not mount! I am stuck in recovery and have no ROM to flash. No backups since changing recoveries.
How can I mount this N7 while in TWRP recovery???
EDIT: In device manager it shows Google Galaxy Nexus ADB Interface.

TWRP on the N7 doesn't have a "USB Mass Storage" mode like some other phones (or like with 4EXT on my Desire-Z), so you have mainly two options.
1) adb push (or pull) since adb does work while in recovery.
2) Use USB-OTG cable with a thumbdrive
#2 is the method I use and it's quite handy since I pop on a thumbdrive, which TWRP supports even as exFAT and I can restore from, or backup to the thumbdrive directly.
In your case, you just need to plug it in, and do
adb push rom_name.zip /sdcard
adb push gapps.zip /sdcard
then go and flash em (Second line only needed if you need Google Apps for the rom).
This is why knowledge of stuff like adb and fastboot is pretty much a must.
I've got 2.6.3.4 on my VS980 and am thinking about moving my stock nandroid off the device to save space. My concern is a corrupted ROM/system (I'm assuming that's possible) and then not being able to move the nandroid back to the device via OTG through recovery/TWRP. Looking through previous 2.6.3.2/2.6.3.3 threads, it seems like OTG can be finicky in recovery/TWRP. Am I possibly setting myself up fro a headache if I start adding mods and need to restore with no backup on the device itself?
Thanks!

This has happened to me any times, I made a backup and moved it to my laptop but when something happens because i've messed with something that resulted in bootloops/recoveryloops or FC, then I start to regret moving my backup to the laptop.
If you plan on doing that at least keep a ROMon the phone or sideload a ROM in case of an emergency.
Or you can always ADB push the TWRP backup files and see if that works back to the TWRP backup folder

Gonna have to figure ADB out first, but suspected some sort of ADB push would be a last resort.

It's not all that hard
Once you have installed ADB drivers you just use the commands:
adb push C:\[where the files are on your computer I usually put them in the C:\ folder] /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/
then you reboot the recovery and then you can restore the backup.
When you adb push a directory it'll push the all contents of the folder.
I have the official twrp 2.6.3.3 and i have several times restored my backup from pc through otg.

Lots of ways. you can push files through adb, mount your phone storage in recovery or just flash stock images through adb.
Go into recovery and try adb push rom.zip /sdcard/ from the computer. Must have adb installed.
I'm pretty sure Twrp has an option to mount the sdcard to your computer as usb storage as well.
Finally, keep in mind you can always go back to stock with Google factory images.

Boot into bootloader (hold power and system on), flash the though recovery through adb, mount your .zip,, flash your .zip through recovery. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I've been drinking with the roommates, lol.
Edit: if that doesn't work, send me an IM and I will help you in the morning

The same thing happened to me also! The whole /data (incl. sdcard) partition went corrupt (showed up in TWRP as eemc instead of ext4) & the /vendor failed to mount.
First I had to repair the /data partition (unfortunately the data was lost, as it repaired to a blank partition). I ended up having to go home (was at work at the time) & hook the phone up to the PC & download the ROM & transfer it onto the sdcard. I'm not entirely sure why/how this happened, but I believe it was because a corrupt vendor IMG. Although that theory doesnt include why the /data partition corrupted, it only explains why the /vendor partition failed to mount.

I have the same issue. The problem is, that my computer will not recognize the phone in bootloader mode or in recovery mode(MTP enabled). How can install usb drivers without being able to boot into phone OS???? I've tried Nexus Toolkit with no success. Please help?

So I did the same thing. I'm sitting in TWRP right now but have nothing on the phone. Will I be able to reboot from TWRP into the bootloader and just use the flash-all command to get my phone to boot back up, then just go through the process of custom recovery again?
Basically I'm worried about leaving twrp without an OS. I didn't wipe bootloader did I? Also, I tried to download a ROM and just drag it to internal memory, but I can't seem to add anything to the internal memory.

Hi... Just boot into recovery and reflash system.img from the factory image of your choice in bootloader with fastboot. Also flash the vendor image from the same factory image. Done...
Or reflash the whole package with flash all (manually is better imho). But you'll waisted time... Let your phone reboot into Android and you'll have your internal storage back.

Yes TWRP has a reboot to bootloader option available. So you can access fastboot via bootloader to flash the necessary images. Just don't forget to re flash TWRP image again in case the stock recovery image was flashed beforehand.
The odd thing was that I did choose that option to boot to bootloader in twrp and it didn't work. I ended up having to reboot to bootloader manually. Not a big deal. All is working now, but thought that was interesting.

Exactly which partitions did you wipe? system? data? Internal Storage (userdata)? all of the above? Hopefully you did not wipe userdata (all your stuff). Were you on a stock ROM? You should be able to d/l the Google image from the same build you were on, extract system and data and fastboot flash those. Don't flash userdata. All your stuff should be there. Follow the tutorial on how to set up fastboot and selectively flash partitions.
