Bricked nook - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i got B&N nook color from a friend and it came bricked
i have tried everything, pressing on the "N" and power;"N"+Vol up+Power
the nook won't even turn up with microSD that i burned on him CWM to get the nook back to stock and then to install CM7/9/10
the only way that he does turn on is this way:
http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/make-unbrick-repartition-image/
and yeah i know its for nook tablet and not nook color.
Because its nook color insted of green checkmark I get red X, but still this is the only way the screen turns on, gets to the part when it's installing and then i get A red X and the nook turns off again
i really need your help!
( i'm sorry for my english)

Are you sure it is a Nook Color? That Nook Tablet SD should not be booting with a Color, and your CWM SD should.

Is my nook color forever bricked? Flashed nook tablet firmware like a goon..

I flashed the nook tablet firmware on my nook color, after a stressful day at work and not realizing what forum I was downloading roms from. All i get is a black screen, I have tried flashing recovery images with no success. Has anyone else done this and recovered?
Have you tried this?

Yea. I don't get any power at all to the screen. I have tried to flash cm7 recovery roms also with no success.

Tried using a CWM Bootable SD? Link
And also repartitioning the Nook by following this.
You might want to try holding the power button for a full 15 seconds... release it... and hold it again for a few seconds and see if it turns on then.

That is not supposed to be possible. There are assert checking codes in the zips to prevent that. How did you do it? Are you sure you have a nook color? The nook color has a black bezel and the nook tablet has a silver one.
Edit: I just looked at the CM9 alpha for the Tablet. It does not have an assert check in it. So I guess it is possible.
I recommend going to my tips thread linked in my signature and making the 5.5.0.4 CWM card. I would boot to that and wipe /system. That is where most of the files get put by the Tablet CM9 zip. The problem is going to be /boot. Some of the Tablet boot files are named the same as nook color, but are entirely different. (mlo, u-boot.bin). You need to get rid of those. Ordinarily flashing a new rom will replace those, but not sure they will now. You have two choices. Use adb to access /boot and remove the files. That takes a little expertise. Or you could use an older CWM (3.2.0.1 or older) card to wipe /boot (that option was removed in the new version, with good reason.) Ordinarily I tell people to never wipe boot because it wipes the CWM stored there too. But in your case you need to get rid of those tablet files.
EDIT 2: I just did some more research and all of the Tablet ROMs I could find did have assert checks in them. That one I referenced above was one I manually modified to install on a bootable SD. So I am having difficulty figuring out how you flashed a tablet ROM to your color. Since you have not responded to this post, I assume you figured it out, gave up, or were wrong.

I just flashed the newest build to my Nook Color and now the device will not turn on at all. I tried holding down 'power', 'n', as well as 'power', 'n', and 'volume +' and nothing happens. There is no flash on the screen - it is just blank. The device is fully charged, it just won't turn on. I have tried several times (and over several days) to try and turn it on, but to no avail. Any advice?

The NC will not try to turn on unless there are valid boot files in either the boot partition or an SD. Obviously your boot files are corrupted. Try booting with a bootable SD to see if you can get it to turn on. The battery must also be charged.

getting rooted nook to boot up normal?

I used glownooter on my nook glow and its great. Is there a way to get it to boot up just into the traditional reader instead of the android screen?
Thanks

[Q] Nook Color Perma-Bricked???

Ok. The other day I was trying to run cm7.2 off the sdcard with cm10 nightlies on the emmc. I burned the image through winimage and then powered down my nook color, as standard instructions go. Put in the sdcard, the penguin came on with the text, and then it did the shutdown it normally does. The nook was fully charged, and when I held down the power button, nothing happened. I took out the sdcard after it did not turn and tried to turn it on booting from the emmc. Nothing. It has been like this for days. I have tried everything from plugging it into the computer and a/c power source, letting the nook die and then fully charge, and use a bootable CWR sdcard. No response at all from my Nook Color. I'm scared that it is bricked and wondering if there is anything I can do before I try to get a replacement from B&N.
It is very difficult to brick a Nook Color. Usually when the Nook acts like that it means you corrupted the boot files on emmc. It will not power on unless there are good boot files there. But it should have booted with the CWM card in it. Try making my CWM card from my NC tips thread linked in my signature and booting with that. See item A10. And of course make sure it is charged when you do. If it does, flash a new ROM on emmc and it will replace those corrupt files. If flashing a new ROM does not revive it, look at my partition repair thread also linked in my signature.

In the end, the NOOK would not boot off of any bootable SD card, leading me to think this was a hardware failure. I just ordered an out-of-warranty NOOK Color from B&N for $65. Thanks for helping me anyway.
nvm my nook just started working today before i was about to pay for a replacement. weird!

Unable to power up Nook color

Hello, during the upgrade to MROM-Encore [4.2.2][LINARO][CM10.1] build:20131003 from the previouse one.
my nook color stuck during installation in CMW and then screen become black at that time bettery was 80% charged.
Now i m unable to power up it. I've tried by removing sd card. & also by power+n, or power + vol+ servel times but nothing happing.
Kindly help me.
Your boot files on your internal boot partition are messed up. The NC will not power on unless there are valid boot files either in the internal boot partition or on a valid boot SD. So you need to make a bootable CWM SD and use that to flash the ROM again. That will fix your internal boot partition. You can get the bootable CWM files at my NC Tips thread linked in my signature.

Dear i've followed carefully A9 method. Battery is fullycharged. But nothing happening.
I am using windows 8.1 and usb 3.0.
Are you using an external card reader and running in administrator mode, etc? It can be difficult to get them to boot.

This may sound silly, but.... hold the power button for a full 30 seconds... release it... try to power on... see if that works.

[Q]Need Major Help!

Tried Getting Cyanogen Mod 7 I think on my nook color and it started up then there was a error and it reset and now stuck on Cyanoboot universal bootloader loading screen. Help please I've been trying to figure this out for almost a year. I tried the SD card recovery thing and nothing it won't even recognize it and not even be forced into recovery or anything. What should I do to restore or unbrick my nook color?
First you need to verify you really have a Nook Color. You could have a Nook Tablet. The Color has a black bezel and the Tablet has a silver bezel. Which do you have?
