Considering the N4, any compelling reason.... - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To buy it at TMobile over Google aside from getting it today?

Cheaper from Google is it not?

Well, yes,......I guess the real deal is, Im impatient and trying to justify spending the extra money at TMo.

I suggest you get it from the play store instead. Just wait till it comes. It's going to be worth your while. Or you can find one on eBay and the seller might ship it out quickly and you'll get it within days.

Want to Sell my Xoom, Am I out of line

So I want to sell my Xoom, I was lame and should have returned it within the 14 days, VZW isnt like Sprint and gives you 30 days (lame). Any way I will either buy a Samsung or a WiFi Xoom, I just do not want to be married to VZW for 2 years (have sprint and dont plan on going anywere anytime soon).
Have it on CL for $550 if someone assumes the contract, comes with case, perfect condition.
Does this sound fair?
Worst case, you can try Gazelle, see what they offer you if you don't get any hits.
The going price on eBay seems to be 700-750 right now
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
With a contract, it is $600 new from vzw with none of the hassle of transfering the contract. You might need to go a touch lower than $550. But, you never know. Some people are stupid and have no idea what it is worth. Example - I sold my ipad a week before the Woom came out for $750. Considering a new one was $829 and newer tablets were literally weeks away, that guy must have been crazy.
If you really want rid of it, I'd try to ebay it for $700ish and eat your Verizon ETF.
Outside of the return period, you're going to take a hit.
Yeah... married to a 2 year contract I'd be hard pressed to shell out over $400 for a used tablet in any condition. I hope you get at least $400-500 for it!
PS: You should put a post in the main marketplace subforum, you will get better responses.
I've had a few people offer 750 off contract for it. Leaves me $400 after ETF and eating tax and activation.
I'll give it a few days, see what happens.
Im not trying to sell it here, was just seeing what everyone thought of my pricing.
Damn Im an idiot for being an early adopter. THought I'd use the data more than I do.

[Q] Order now or wait? Black Friday Deals??

I've been due for an upgrade since June (Sprint OG EVO on its last leg). I was planning on getting a GS3 on a Tmobile value plan for some time but now that this awesome looking phone is out I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it. I'm just torn if I should pre-order it (when available) or not. I would really love to have a brand new Nexus 4 next week , but I'd be willing to wait a few more weeks just to save some $$$
So part of me wants to wait it out a few weeks until black friday rolls around in the hopes that there will be some good deals. Is this phone going to be too new though? Too new to not even have black friday deals?
Thoughts/opinions?
Just saw the same question asked in another thread.... sorry for posting this! please disregard...
Honestly I don't think you will find a better deal than the play store
Anything's possible, but I would doubt that they would be blowing out the N4 on Black Friday. They might throw in a PlayStore credit or something but it will only be out for less than two weeks.
I'm not waiting...
If you look at all the past Nexus Phones I don't think you'll find any Black Friday deals or any sales on them at all. Don't get the play store stuff mixed up with retailers like the Nexus 7. N7 Sales were the work of the stores, not the Play Store. This phone will only be sold via T-Mobile at an inflated price.
I heard buy 1 get 1 free but only at the google play b&m store and only for the first 100 people standing in line.

Would you pay $600/£370...?

I just can't wait to get my hands on the Nexus 4 and will most likely pay that extra cost just to get it before Christmas.
For me as I have to import the device, the difference is only £30.
So the question is, would you pay that premium to get the device, say, next week?

Hell yea!!!!

For $600 you can almost buy 2 of them and keep one as a spare in case you break the first. And even that wouldn't be a good investment in my opinion. So paying $600 for just 1 is absolutely absurd.
Just wait a little longer. I love the phone but would never pay more than ~$50 to get one sooner. Hell, from what I've been reading, those who ordered last week and received notifications of 2-3 week shipping delays are already starting to get their phones this week. Just order it from Google Play now and I'll bet you will have it before Christmas. And if not, you give up a little time with the phone to keep ~$300 in your bank account.
But if you are in the mood to just throw money away, I'll sell you my Galaxy nexus for $400. I can ship it tonight so you get it fast too.

If your in that of a rush into getting it, then go for it. But take in mind, that the nexus 4 was ment to be an awesome packed machine for a low price, but the fact is that your paying more for it is not that worth it, but if you really care for it i'd suggest that you purchase it.

Will 6P be sold in T-Mobile stores (Jump program)?

I really hope T-Mobile sells this in store so I can take advantage of the jump program. After searching for answer it's still unclear. Does anyone have info on this or is it too soon?

I hope they sell them in stores because that way I can just go buy one, or at least play around with it. I'm still waiting for a video showing the Note 5 along side the 6p in a direct screen comparison. I'm torn between those two devices.
Not that we know of. You can get them from the Play Store (Currently sold out) or from Huawei at http://www.gethuawei.com/nexus6p
If your looking for a way to pay for it monthly you can get it financed via Huawei.
I still owe $300 plus on my Nexus 6 that I got last year. Can't use jump unless T-Mobile sells the phone themselves.
Some alternative financing options:
You could always JUMP to the LG 450 (currently the cheapest phone you can JUMP with). Pay off the $60 cost of the LG and now you're done with the N6, also if you cancel JUMP you save $10 per month. Of course you could always sell the N6 on Craigslist or Ebay.
Then you could either start a payment plan on a 6P from Huawei though Affirm (they do charge interest...)or order the 6P through Project Fi and use their interest free monthly payments.

I actually had the same question as the OP. That sounds like a pretty good solution.

Phones on Swappa

Already a couple Pixel XL posted for sale on Swappa.
Never takes long for that. It's called capitalism as individuals seek inflated monetary compensation.
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
yep some people buy just to sell on while they are rare as they know it is quick money from the impatient.
Swappa is outstanding.
Trying to cash in on other peoples impatience. Especially with Google phones since there have been several times Google has totally screwed up orders on new releases. Funny thing is those people buying them just to sell them just make it worse for those that are waiting for their personal orders. Watch out for warranty issues on resold phones as I got caught on it on the Nexus 4 on a phone purchased on ebay never opened and Google refused to cover the phone after 2 months. I will never buy a new phone from a third party again.
So I pre-ordered both the XL and the regular pixel and was going to cancel one, but they both shipped earlier than expected. Should I just sell one on swappa - or just return it to google. I am well within 14 days to return.
I'm in the same boat as you, but after trying to sell it, I'm just gonna return it. There's too much of a chance selling it, whereas returning it gets me back all my money.
Since you have 14 days, I'd keep it sealed and list it on Swappa. If it doesn't sell in around 10 days then you can just return it to Google instead.
My .02 cents: just return it. Less hassle and guaranteed refund.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Which one are you sending back?
Honestly, I'd just return it. I've sold over 60 phones on Swappa and, while most transactions have been fine, the few problems are enough to sour the experience. One example: I had a phone that was within its return period but returning it would have required a 200 mile drive back to the store. I listed it on Swappa and it sold quickly. Three weeks after the buyer received the phone, he left me a message saying that the phone would not boot and he wanted a refund. I asked him why he didn't say anything during the first 3 weeks. He finally just stopped responding but the headache of dealing with this type of stuff makes me avoid selling when returning is an option.
Absolutely. I only had 1 bad experience on Swappa where the buyer came back 3 months later. Finally, after going through PayPal procedures, dispute process, etc I prevailed. Just a note: PayPal policies overrides Swappa's policies. So yes, refunds are the better way to go overall if you don't want to risk that one off where a buyer could be problematic.

True the same the other way around with a less than honest seller. Not original cables, 3rd party charger, not really "mint" as youd describe it, box doesnt match device ect. Not following through with daydream vr code, not responding to warranty transfer. Usually small enough details not to be worth the hassle of returning or disputing..
Due to bad experiences at both eBay and Swappa, I no longer prefer either of these methods for selling.
I first check the going rate on eBay & Swappa.
Then I deduct like 10% from that average selling rate and list my phone on Craiglist for that price and advise "Firm Price, will not sell for one dollar less - and no trades".
I still get the jerks asking me if I'll take $200 for a phone I listed at $300.
But it minimizes some traffic.
And once the cash is handed over, there are no worries about the buyer trying to scam me or return the phone over some BS reason.
I have no issues buying a phone from Swappa though.
I'd buy there before buying from eBay.
Just mentioning my personal experience and preferences.
Not telling anyone what to do.
It usually does take longer to sell on Craigslist even when it's a mega popular phone.
There are a few XL's on there as of today that are only slightly more expensive than buying from Google (maybe $50 more). I'd say that's a prety good deal since Swappa adds $10 on top of whatever price you post.
I've bought and sold from Swappa with no negative experiences.
I have an extra pixel from Google if any one needs it. Just give me what I paid for it, been here on XDA for awhile now.
