My find... - Transformer TF300T General

Hello everyone, i want to share what i found to everyone. I got a Tf300T with CleanROM ( ofc ) i did data2SD mod, and i installed Dolphin Browser Beta. I noticed that the browser outperforms the stock / chrome / any other browser with out using the Browser2Ram Mod ( i didnt even install it when i installed ROM ). I also noticed that the system is much more stable this way. Ifyou can please try this out and share ur experience, because im loving it. P.S. in Dolphin browser Beta, disable the DNS prefetch in lab menu.

didnt work for me. it just closes the browser. i tryed with dolphin hd and scyfire.
what rom you use, and is it oc or not.. maybe its something with that.
I could play videos on stock browser in stock froyo due to flash lite-its there in all stock roms
@arpan try it yourself
grrr. force close
for those that worked please add some more details .. ROM version and/or any other drivers installed???
I think it's overclocking that is causing reason. @all those like me which haven't got flash player working. Are you using overclock ROM?
try putting in system app and see if it works or not.
chirayu r u talking about the flash svg player?
Im currently on Sumee 3.0 and some sites like blizzard.com flash is working on their page, but flash games I could not run, and I'm using MIUI default browser Miriam or something like that, nevertheless this is a major breakthrough, from nothing to something

Get flash working in DolphinHD on JB

Flash has been disabled in the new DolphinHd for JB devices due to it no longer being supported . Flash has also been taken out from GooglePlay . To get flash working in DolphinHd we will need a compatible flash apk for JB and an older version of DolphinHD . First step is to install the flash apk provided here . Then install DolphinHD 8.5.1 also provided. Once Dolphin is install go to settings , web content and change flash option to always on or on demand .
Awesome!
Man you rule supreme. Thanks.
v8.5.1 is the version pinch zoom is broken on. Pretty much a showstopper for me. The newer builds of Dolphin HD support JB, fixed the pinch zoom, but DISABLED flash. I'm afraid unless the Dolphin Devs allow users to "opt in" to using Flash, understanding it is no longer supported on Android 4.0+ and may be flakey, Dolphin HD lovers are hosed (and moving on). Stock Browser is pretty sweet and the new quick controls are awesome. Did I mention it plays Flash too?
The only problem I have with stock browser is I have to type about: debug to change the user agent every time .

How do you get flash video streams to work?

I had an older adobe flash 11 version apk i installed and that didnt work. It only showed the blue cube symbol. Any way to make it work?
I use Dolphin Browser HD 8.5.1 and Flash 11.1.115.17 and get no problems other than full screen not working.
Another one of these...
Boat browser + latest Flash *.apk (here on xda). No problems at all, even full screen works properly.
Or Firefox + flash 11.1.115.17.

Thanks, was worried because on the sgn didnt have this issue with an older version of flash and on the nexus 7 it didnt work. Also, when I went into playstore to get the adobe flash it said was compatible with my device which sucked.
1. Flash: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html (scroll down to Flash for Android 4.0)
2. Browser:
Firefox: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsIm9yZy5tb3ppbGxhLmZpcmVmb3giXQ..
Boat: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...r.free&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
3. ....
4. profit.

Boat doesn't work for me with .17 Flash. I get the blue cube symbol as well so I'm sticking with Firefox which plays 90% of the videos I've tried at least.
I must have something wrong in the settings for the Boat Browser is all I can think of.
When I go to the Flash Application Settings the only choices there are Peer Networking or Local Storage. Whatever the heck I'm suppose to choose outta the two there baffled me so I just left it on local storage and it doesn't let me go any further than that but at least Firefox works set that way.
Never mind. I didn't have .17 after all.
Got 11.1.115.17 for ICS from the Adobe dev site and both Boat and Firefox beta play Amazon Prime video with sound full screen now.
Guess I don't need to sell my N7 and get a Fire HD after all.
I am having the same problem with Boat and the last couple of versions of Dolphin will not let you enable Flash.
I tried Firefox and can get the video but no sound.
I am using the latest Flash apk from the Adobe dev site, do I need to use the modified apk from xda instead?
Where can I get an older version of the Dolphin apk, before they blocked Flash?

Q: how to play flash video on websites using firefox or chrome?

Hey all, I have gotten my new nexus 10 and loving it! I rooted it and unlocked it already but I can't get flash to work I tried installing the flash 11.1 apk and restarted but firefox or google is a no go. I have 4.2.1 running as of now, could someone please point me in the right direction to getting flash installed on here? Thanks!
Chrome does not support flash. Quick Google search revealed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28799533
http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-android-supports-flash-learn-how-enable-itI don't use Firefox so I don't know if it works.
Alternatively, AOSP browser, Boat browser, ocean browser, and maxthon support flash.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
thanks so much! For some odd reason the flash version I got didn't work, following your guide got both firefox and dolphin browser to work flawlessly! Let's hope all flash site works.
Is there anyway to stop the Flash version of Dolphin apk from being automatically updated to the latest non-Flash version?

[Q] Flash Crashes all Web Browsers

Hi,
Rooted Nexus 7, Paranoid Android, with the Trinity Kernel.
Installed flash but every time i open a browser it crashes.
I need flash for attheraces replays
Any advice is much appreciated folks
4.1 and 4.2 do not officially support Flash Player --> crashes while trying to display Flash-based content
Solution:
1. Set the Flash content to be displayed manually by tapping on the webpage object
This can be set in following menus:
Settings - Advanced Settings - Allow plug-ins - On demand (in AOSP browser)
Settings - Content settings - Enable Flash - On demand (in Boat and Dolphin browsers)
Note - Chrome does not support Flash at all
Or
2. Stick to HTML5 only
Or
3. Use a device with Android 4.0 on board

I have that problem too. It didn't used to happen on 4.2.1 but then I tried that seeder thing before xda denounced it and then it started crashing. Even setting it as on demand will not work because once you click to open flash box it freezes. Firefox is the only browser that's hit or miss as to whether flash will work but all the others crash

the aosp android browser plays flash fine. theres a tutorial in the games/themes section about how to install it.
I downloaded and installed the Aosp browser but it appeared to be identical to the stock browser, renamed it etc. As per instructions from here. Should i delete the stock browser first?
Cheers

honestly, i dont know which browser PA includes. if its the "stock" browser, then it is chrome, and doesnt support flash. they could possibly include the aosp android browser already. if they do, then it is the same. you can. is the new browser working for you with flash?

you might want to install the latest flash player apk too.. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.36/install_flash_player_ics.apk
Disabled the stock browser and a warning came up saying if i disable other browsers may misbehave.
Installed the latest flash from or link, cheers
Will install Aosp browser and see how i get on, thanks
I came across Puffin Browser and it works great!

Puffin browser works flawlessly with flash even on Ipads!
try this borwser for flash
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boatbrowser.free&feature=search_result
works fine for me, no crashes at all.
And i think your problem is not the flash it self but the kernel.

+1 (2 thumbs up) Dolphin browser was one of my favorite alternate until I discovered Boat browser, used it on rooted stock 4.1.2 and 4.2.1, stock kernel, plus franco & bricked kernel on the N7.
I used (free app) AntTeh App Manager to freeze/disable the Chrome browser on 4.2 and change Boat browser's setting to make it the default, On-demand Flash and it works 99.8% of the time so far, including Google searches. If it's still not smooth, disable the stock AOSP browser on the device, whether it's 4.1 or 4.2
For good measure, after making the changes - boot into recovery, wipe dalvik cache & restart - it doesn't hurt to clear most if not all of the saved settings.
Hi,
I have installed Boat browser and so far it seems OK, i think your right about the Trinity kernel so if the crashes continue i might check out the Motley kernel.
Cheers for your help

Yeah your right. At least for me its something that I changed that made it suddenly stop working. The only thing I do though was add that seeder apk and flash took a dump. What's really strange is like I said it'll work on Firefox sometimes and it works on puffin browser. It'll ramp up on other browsers like its gonna load but then almost like it overloads the GPU it'll freeze and crash the other browsers. What's worse is I've completely wiped formatted pushed new ROM etc and still get the same issues haha different kernel ROM combos. Nothing works but before that seeder apk it was working flawlessly

How can it be user error!!!
Before installing Flash browsers work flawlessly, after installing Flash browsers crash!
It does not take a genius to come to the conclusion that Flash is the problem and maybe it is conflicting with other software.
Changed kernel to Motley, i hope that sorts it out.

see if this helps.. in the browser settings, advanced, set the enable plug in as on demand instead of always on. also, do you use any ad blocking software? try the adfree app. ive seen browsers crash when there are many flash ads.

I'll try the ad free but the on demand has the same thing haha

flash is a problem, since it doesnt officially support our device or its software. try the adfree app also. you might be trying to view a porn site, and they typically are full of flash ads(yes, from experience).. :silly:
