Its built in. Press power and volume down at the same time. Or under asus customized settings enable long press recent apps button to capture screenshot.

Screen no longer rotating

I'm running the stock ROM, unrooted, and ever since my update to JB, the screen will no longer rotate. When the screen is locked it WILL rotate, but once unlocked, it won't. Any ideas?
Do you have an app such as this installed?

Nope...but I can give it a shot. It was auto-rotating until the JB update.
Check your notification area there is a switch next to the Wi-Fi switch turns auto rotation off my son switched it and it had me stumped for a couple hours

You know what, that's probably it...I was looking all over the Settings and couldn't find it...I'll look when I get home tonight. Sounds like it was right in front of me the whole time .
Thanks for all of the replies.
Yup, that was it...duh! Thanks for the help...I feel like a real idiot now .

My son did the same thing to me also...took me an hour to figure it out.

Problem with touchpad clicker?

I just got my tf300t with keyboard dock. Great device.
I noticed something unusual with the chrome clicker bar underneath the touchpad though. If I press it on the left or the middle, there is clear click and a bit of resistance when pressing the bar. However, if I press it on the right there is no audible click and the bar doesn't really move down when I press it there. It seems like the micro switch inside is not working properly like on the left and in the middle. Nevertheless, the button does trigger the desired action (go back one step) when it's used. I am just wondering if this lack of clicking sound and pressing resistance is normal or the first indication of the button getting broken.
How does the clicker work on your docks?
Thanks a lot.

Nobody has a minute to let me know if their clicker works better/differently? I would like to send the dock for RMA if there is a problem, but first I have to figure out if there really is a problem. For this, I'd really appreciate some help.
Thank you.

Clicker working exactly the same on both sides. Makes click sound pressing the button for both left and right presses.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
Same here. Clicker bar works the same all the way across. Clicks on the right, middle, and left side. If it's not doing that then you need to take it back because it's faulty.

Thanks a lot. You are confirming my assumption that I was sold a faulty unit.
I sent it back in the meantime. Unfortunately, the replacement I was sent had an even more serious problem - there were two dark spots/stains "in the screen". They were not pixel errors though. At this point, I decided to give up on the company I had ordered from. Will wait for a while and then perhaps give it another try or go for another device Acer W510 also seems interesting too.
Thanks again and a happy holiday season to all of you!

why my nexus 4 doesn't take a screen shot when pressing power and volume down button

I'm running stock, haven't changed a thing since getting it from Google play.
Need HELP!!
Thank you!

Are you doing it simultaneously? Give it like a second or two before releasing
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
press the power button first and the the volume down button...and then wait for your INSTANT WIN!!
need to press them the same time. its a little tricky at the start but you'll get used to it.
or you can just get an app that will do it for you

no point in installing useless apps that consume memory when its in the OS natively. its not that difficult to press two buttons at the same time and getting it right. once you do it once or twice, you'd get the hang of it and all is good.
either that or flash a custom rom and u can add the screenshot button on your long press power button menu.

It works for everyone. All you have to do is push them at the same time. Power + volume down. Hold for like three seconds. If it doesn't work hold for five seconds.

thanks guys, it is indeed tricky. especially doing it with my diztronic case.

It's very tricky. I said the same thing when I was doing it on my galaxy Nexus but got the hang of it.
Place your hand on the volume down and power button before pressing them and then hold them both at the same time until your phone makes a screen shot animation.
I will give Samsung this though the slide to screen shot is very intuitive on the touch wiz platform.

Oh so that's why. Since the new diztronics cover the buttons, it's probably not being pressed correctly.

Tell that to the people who had difficulties
It is tricky at the beginning but like I said over again and again, once you know how to do it. It's not tricky and is very easy to do. I understand depending what case they have on it may be trickier because the case covers the buttons that all of us overlooked

Try first powering off your phone. I had a little issue and i could not get the shutting down menu after several attempts, the phone restarted it self and after it was up, I was able to take screenshots without any difficulties.

CM10.1- how do I take screen shot pictures?

This is for the latest CM10.1 nightly. Power and volume down doesn't work. It worked this way with stock. :'( loving my new nexus 7!!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
You can always go to power menu and screenshot from there though it's really "clunky" (my vocabulary sucks)
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Settings-system-power menu. From there you can enable screenshots from long pressing the power button and tapping screenshot.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
the proper way to do it is to hold down the power and the up volume, or down, idk, and it will take a screenshot, it has to be pretty good timing though or youll turn your volume up or turn off the screen.

In need of easier way to screen shot

Hello fellow moders, I am wondering if anyone knows of a simpler way of taking a screen shot without having to swipe my Palm across the scree.
It would be nice if I could press the home button and power button to screen shot. Maybe screen shot in the power menu.
I appreciate any suggestions.
If you hold the power button and the physical home button at the same time for a couple seconds it will capture a screenshot

Worked thanks
Take spend out and hold the spen button while pressing on the screen.
Screen shot mentioned above with home button.
Palm swipe across the screen. Real easy.
My power menu has screen shot option. I'm using hyperdrive.

For some reason, the Palm swipe doesn't work on my phone. It didn't work with 4.3 and isn't working with 4.4 leak either. Any ideas?

Isn't THIS the Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section? Anyway, I think I am just doing it wrong or something. I practiced a few more times. I just don't understand how to wipe the edge of my hand across the screen from left to right without it moving the screen. Hmmf!
