Rooted Kindle / Two Amazon Accounts - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

Hello,
On my new Kindle Fire HD 7" 7.2.3, I was able to successfully root it, but my issue is that it is linked to my wife's account (since she has amazon prime for some free videos / free books), but my amazon account, which does not have prime, does have a lot of apps that I have downloaded when they were the "free app" of the day.
Is there anyway for me to get a secondary copy of the Amazon app store installed on the kindle so that I can download those apps from my other amazon account? Or is there another work around you can think of?
Thanks.

One method would be to install TWRP.
Back-up your current config (linked to wife's acct?). Reflash to stock, configure to your account, install apps. Backup with TWRP.
Maybe also back-up the apps with Titanium or other app - and then restore them into both systems. Update your backup files.
It only takes 2 or 3 minutes to switch between environments from then on.
This is how I'm moving back and forth between stock and CM10.1 on my KFHD8.9.

[Q] KF Do over - back to 6.2

I fell into the 6.2.1 trap before I got Google Android Market installed. As a result of a partial market installation, I get periodic errors about the android market that pop up and need to be forced closed. I plan to do a factory reset and return the device to the store then buy a new one with the original OS. I need to know what to do so I can get it working with Android Market OTA.
Since the tablet has only 6+ GB to play with, I don't want to load it with too many hacking type tools or other OS. I am interested in seeing how Titanium Backup works but I don't know if I want to keep the KF permananently rooted. My main goal is to have Android Market available and working wirelessly. I am also trying do decide whether to block the the OTA update from Amazon permanently or just until I get my basic Google apps installed. So my plan is:
Get a new Kindle Fire with old OS
Leave WiFi off
Root with Super One Click
Install Google Android Market
Disable rerouting to Amazon Market
Am I right assuming that once installed, Google Android Market will continue to function once Amazon updates me to the latest version?
I also want to make sure that I have Google Mail and Google Maps and I don't know if 6.2.1 unrooted prevents installing those. I like the ability of the 6.2.1 to get rid of junk on the carousel and the scrolling speed seems a little better now. Of course videos are playable with unrooted KF.
Am I missing any steps or are there other recommendations?
You should be able to install Google maps and Gmail onto a regular 6.2.1 KF without any problems.
I don't think there's a known method to block the update while keeping full online functionality.
The best thing at the moment is to install a premodded 6.2.1 update with root access so you can install the Market Place etc.
In anycase if you return the unit for a new one there could (and probably will) be another update in a few weeks. So far there's been an update every couple of weeks since it came out. Each time you lose root and are back to square one.
I'm waiting for someone more clever than me to find a workaround to get root access back on a 6.2.1...
PS - 6GB is a lot of room for installing apps! I wouldn't worry about running out of room unless you're filling up your KF with downloaded media.
oh and PPS - Amazon updates can easily stop the market place from working. The 6.2.1 update has stopped mine from working (because I had it installed in /system/app which is one of the folders replaced in the last update.)
Got new 6.0 KF - Bootstrapping Catch 22
So I returned the 6.2.1 version and got a new one with 6.0 still installed. Now I find that I have no way of loading any apps with the stock unit. The directories that show up on the device through the USB connection are very limited. I copied the root explorer app to the documents directory but naturally it does not show up.
Without having a file explorer app, I don't know how to proceed. If I turn on and register the Kindle, I am liable to get updated immediately. If I can just get to the Amazon store and get a file explorer app and then quickly turn off wireless I may luck out. Are there any other ways to get an app installed without having an app like root explorer or similar without having to first go to Amazon market?
6.2.1? I'm still on 6.2. What's the deal? Why did i not get the update?
Update - I was able to quickly register and bring in the root explorer app. I then turned off WiFi and found I was still at 6.0. Now to try to root it...

[Q] Cannot cannot register kindle fire after replace the Amazon Kindle.

So hello guys. Before say anything , I have to say this first.
My English is not good, or should I say, terrible ! So if you see anything wrong with the grammar , I'm truly sorry for my Bad english.
So ok, Let's get straight to the point.
- I'm having A Kindle Fire, the FW is 6.2.2 and I have rooted it.
- I'm using the Go Launcher Ex and when I tried to use Amazon Kindle Apps ( To read books ) , I just couldn't launch it so .... I tried to replace it with the Amazon Kindle from the Google Market.
After I downloaded and installed it, I CAN open the apps now, but I couldn't connect to Amazon Sever ( or as It said ) , so does my Amazone Appstore ( I mean the one that Amazon put in first ). And I couldn't register my Kindle Fire either
- After that **** , I tried to " Reset to Factory Defaults " but It still the same...
So guys, any advice ? And well, I also want to know that can I use any other launcher beside Go Launcher Ex ( Like the Launcher Pro ? I installed it but It keep Force Close ).
Thanks in advance , and sorry for my Bad English.
If you want to try another luncher, maybe try other ROM for KF. CM7 have ADW, ICS have pretty stock luncher too
For CM7 go

ICS is still in alpha build so I cant recomend it to you.
About Registration - Try to unroot device before attempting to log in to amazon.
Root KF should not block connecting Kindle Reader to the Amazon server. I can connect to Amazon download and read all my books same like prior to rooted. Now my KF is run on ICS still has no issue with Kindle Reader. May be, you register you device to the wrong account, try check it again.
easy fix - uninstall the amazon reader app
I had the same problem after rooting I installed a ton of new software, and the amazon standard services (books, movies etc) all stopped working and the content was "missing". It was still on the device but did not show.
I restored factory defaults (from Kindle Fire settings menu), re-rooted and re-installed software more carefully.
For me it turned out the Amazon reader app was the culprit. I removed it and everything worked and is working fine. So you don't need to reset and re-root - just remove the app.
Assuming you loaded this software for a reason but you don't need it. If you are side-loading books into the device and you want them to show up in your "Books" tab, then you just need to use Calibre software on your computer to change the metadata of the e-book file from PDOC to EBOK

The Kindle App on Kindle Fire poses problems of data corruption for normal users at times. The solution is this:
===
Make sure WiFi is 'ON' when doing this)
Go to the Gear wheel at top right when at Home Screen
Then click on:
. More,
. Settings,
. Applications
... (choosing ALL applications to view),
Select 'Amazon Kindle' and then
. Click to clear DATA (which clears the cache at the same time)
Press Home at bottom left
SIT BACK as it all returns to The Way It Was.
No restart needed. No need to remove the app.
===
Not sure that would work for your situation but it's a real possibility.

[Q] Dead Space files?

I bought the Dead Space (Kindle Fire) edition app on the amazon app store from my kindle that has the usual Amazon interface, but I wanted to transfer this game to my other Kindle that is running CM9 but I cant seem to find the files using Root Explorer. Any suggestions? (If your wondering why I just don't download it from the Amazon Appstore for Android, that is because I does not show in My Apps! Perhaps that is because it does not detect the Kindle Fire or I just dont know).
I'm having the same issue as you do. My CM7 doesn't show Dead Space in the Amazon App Store. It's probably because it's no longer the Fire stock ROM.
What I have heard works is that if you root your stock Fire and use TitaniumBackup to backup both the app and data, and restore it on your other Fire, it should work.
That's what I ended up doing. I went back to stock 6.2.2, installed Dead Space, backed up the app with Titanium Backup, then re-rooted using BurritoRoot 3, and reinstalled cwm recovery and cm9.
Just be sure to have the Amazon app store installed on cm7/cm9 and you've logged in, otherwise Dead Space won't load.
OK now I have a different problem! I was able to find the file if I'm not mistaken they are in the mnt/asec using root explorer but the kindle I used to download this game is my sisters kindle with stock rom using her amazon account. Unfortunately I can't refund this product to buy it from my account. With this being said I can't play this game because It says I don't own it. Is there a way I can alter any codes to get this wrking.? Because it is a pain to install and uninstall the amazon appstore just to be signing in and out to play dead space or the rest of my apps . Please I need an answer.

Kindle app won't update and crashes often (Fire HD 10 2017 rooted)

Hello,
I rooted my tablet a while ago, froze several apps with Titanium and all works fine. Save for the Kindle app. I'm a Prime member and I use Kindle. Since the root, the Kindle app won't update and often crashes. I must often re-download books I had already downloaded before from my library. Is there a way to fix the Kindle app?
I tried freezing it with Titanium along with other apps that seemed related, and then to install an apk of a different version, but it will never install.
I was afraid to uninstall Kindle with Titanium. But is it even possible? If yes, will I be able to install the Google Play version of the app after? Thing is, I don't want to lose access to the Kindle app for good...
Thanks for any input.
Hello
I had similar problem before (rooted). You can try to clear the cache in recovery mode.
+ plus power on button to clear cache.
It works for me afterward.
I cleared the cache already, not in recovery, and it seems fine so far.
Still, being able to uninstall the Kindle version and get the one on Google Play would be best....

Good to hear that
The Kindle in Fire OS has some advantages over the one in Google Play...
However, it might be better to have a unified interface for most people ( I am one of them) , please share if you can get rid of that and if any side effect available.....

What are the advantages of the Fire OS Kindle vs the Google Play one?
I'm still very hesitant to completely uninstall it with Titanium (if it's possible), fearing I could not be able to install it again after the fact... If it goes on like now without crashing or erasing my downloaded books, I'll live with the Fire OS Kindle for now...

1. It don't need you to login XD
2. Not sure if Newstand an exclusive feature to fire os kindle ?
I think the package name for both play and fire store might share same directory so they are killing each other.
I am not a hardcore android user so i wont' able to test all of these, but worst case just adb update the fireos again should be ok
I have a HD 10 (7th Gen) on Fire OS 5.4.1.0. I uninstalled the kindle app using titanium and didn't have a backup (whoops). I downloaded from playstore and it installs but does not open. Anyone have the original kindle app apk? Also have same problem with Amazon Shopping.
I rather not have to factory reset and root again. Only have a few frozen apps..Advertising ID, amazon.jackson19, devicesoftwareOTA, Email, Fire Keyboard (Asian, Chinese), Fire Launcher, Forced OTA, Silk browser, Silk content service, Special Offers, and Unified Search. Any suggestions???

How do I install Google Play Store and other Google Apps on rooted 2017 Fire HD 10?

Hi,
I just ordered a 2017 Fire HD 10. I intend to root it and then install Google apps on it (and probably freeze Amazon ones with Titanium Backup).
I searched a bit but could not find a definition thread for installing Google Play Store and other apps.
Found a few candidates but not sure if they are the right one.
Any suggestion on what process I should follow?
COMPLETELY 'GOOGLE-IZE' YOUR AMAZON FIRE TAB (Confirmed Working)

Also, there appears to be some issue using multiple Google account. Any definite answer and instruction I should follow?
Thanks

Well I was able to get 3 google accounts working. What I did was this... Inside my 'APPS' folder on my desktop, there is an icon called Google Settings. Click on that and Google Account opens. Then I clicked
on my photo and a prompt opened up saying "Choose Another Accout ?" I clicked that and it let me setup 2 more accounts. I went to play store and verified all 3 accounts are listed and working.
I hope maybe that helps you ?
Good Luck
