I understand its asked million times, but I couldn't find a sticky so...
just got my nexus 4 but the screen looks washed out compared to my iphone 5, is there any fix for it? an app or a tweak?
Thanks
Flash Franco kernel and download his app.
You can use the recommend gamma settings which are great or tweak them to your liking.

you cant. not yet
Oh I thought I heard you could change the voltages with Franco kernel so I kept trying to see which apps work but found none thanks though what's limiting the nexus 4? Is there any other way to under volt?

Franco personally is not a fan of undervolting. He'll probably make sure the kernel is stable before he adds the undervolting feature. There's been a lot of ironing out going on with the kernel and adding undervolting capabilities would probably cause more trouble if its implemented now.
via xda app
Hey guys,
may I apply -25 UV on franco.kernel with AOKP ROM build 6?
Idk if its stable.
And which programm to take?

all our devices are different when it comes to uv. some can uv more, some less. best way to get your answer is to try it out. what programs to use.. there are too many that are in the market. franco kernel app is one of them.
Screenshot of my undervolt values on franco m1 been perfectly stable but just make sure you do not tick set voltages on boot until your perfectly sure it is stable

Okay, I just reduced -25 everything.
Works like a charm.

Can you refer me to a kernel that's out of the box ready to go? To be honest I am pleased with the stock kernel, which i am using, but I want a mod to make the in ear headset volume louder and supposedly I can't do that on stock kernel. So I need something close.
When I look through faux and Franco threads I get overwhelmed with all the settings and interfaces talked about.
Another thing is I like stock Google colors, not the darker ones a lot of the devs have been updating to.
Thanks

Go with Faux To the best of my knowledge if you flash Faux's kernel you retain stock Google color presets until you choose to tweak them via Faux's kernel management apps (you can also revert to Google presets via his app after experimenting with colors yourself). He does have an enhanced stock kernel if you want to keep as close to stock as possible.
As for volume or speaker settings he's got you covered there as well--check out his apps on GPlay. You don't have to feel overwhelmed because he does provide you with "recommended" settings on the various sliders & knobs within the app interface. And the enhanced performance & battery life you'll get is just gravy. Good luck!

With either Franco or Faux's kernel, no need to be overwhelmed by all the settings. They work just fine using the default settings out-of-the-box, and you can just change the settings that interest you.
Use Franco kernel. It's been amazing so far. Everyone is impressed with battery life and all. You don't need to mess with the settings. Just run as is.

I'm new to the this amazing device and was wondering, so I've been looking through all the roms and kernels, and I'm wondering what's your guys' favorite rom/kernel combo for performance and or battery life?
I'm using rasbeanjelly with matr1x kernel. I feel like I'm getting good battery and performance with this combo.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
my favorite combo, rasbeanjelly and trinity kernel, AOSPA and franco kernel. both performance and battery are great. :good:
Since my gnex i prefer cyanogenmod + franco kernel. Nerver bootlooped my device and great battery life.
Slimbean and trinity. Trinity + misledz audio mod is unmatched.
My favorite combo is PA rom with either Franco.kernel or Trinity.

Cm 10 and Franco kernel, not one problem for me.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna try some of these out and see which one works best for me. Now to look for some sound mods!
paranoid and trinity seems to be the best for me

Which kernels besides stock and semaphore don't have the glitch were from time to time the notification bar drops down as soon as you wake up the phone? I want to something new but I know franco and matrix kernel had that problem in the past.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I had no idea this even happens, I'm currently on Franco's M2, but have used lots of versions of Trinity, and have used Matrix once... never had this happen. Are you sure it's not a rom glitch?

Never had that on stock and Franco kernel. Is this a Semaphore issue?, if so look on that thread for a (possible) fix.

Sorry if I worded it wrong. Stock and semaphore are the only ones where it never happens. It's happened on stock rom with franco and matrix kernel
