htc touch new version upgarde

hi all u great people those are helping every one pls help me
i bought a new htc touch in india with new version Ram size 128mb flash size 256mb my rom version is 2.20.720.103 wwe i want to upgrade to official windows 6.1 with touch flo i am not able to download from htc site help me plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

You have the HTC Elfin and there is no official WM 6.1 update available for your device and probably wont ever be one. On the HTC Website it shows the WM 6.1 update but probably says not available for your device when you try to install it. This is because the linked it to Elf by accident and fixed the problem in order to avoid people downloading to elf or elfin and bricking their devices. The WM 6.1 official ROM update is for the HTC touch Vogue. You can search this site; however, for custom cooked ROM's for the Elfin that has WM 6.1. Make sure you do plenty of reading and studying on how to flash a custom cooked ROM to your device and you will have to make sure that your device is unlocked. I am sorry I cannot help you more than this since I don't know much about flashing custom ROM's since I myself have not done it yet to my Elfin. There is lots of information available on this site though and several ROM's available for the Elfin.

but i have also tried flashing these cooked ROM it always stops at 3% and shows 270 error and stops the viva was launched 10 days after i bought the phone pls help because i am bored by this windows 6 i want i new ROM help

Do you have the HTC OPAL otherwise known as the VIVA
You said "Stops the viva"? If you have the VIVA and not the Elfin stop flashing roms for Elfin to your device.
OPAL / VIVA look similar to Vogue and Elf and Elfin but is a different device

If you have the Opal/Viva - you need to post in that forum to try to get some help. You may have done a very bad thing flashing an elf or elfin ROM to the device if you do in fact have the VIVA.
You really need to do lots of reading. Make sure you know which device you do have, then proceed.

I think he means he 's frustrated the viva was launched after he bought his elfin. There should be a dot after "stops" . Beside that your advice was very sound

Why are you giving this warning? I haven't upgraded to a custom ROM myself yet; however, have read that there are many members who are very happy with their custom ROM's and WM 6.1
Do you have a valid reason for this warning or is it just your personal choice / preference.
From what I have been reading, choosing to upgrade ROM is personal choice and one that you choose to do at your own risk and or benefits all depending on what your needs are. The reason I have not upgraded is that I have not yet felt that I needed to. I am very happy with my stock WM 6.0 ROM and the performance of my device. This is the only reason I havn't upgraded.
What are your reasons? It is not my intention to discredit you or attack you. I am legitimately curious as to what your reasons for this statement are.

Guides to upgrading roms

Hi all,
Very sorry to seem so n00byish but have never had the guts to do this till now
Basically I have an XDA Orbit 2 (which has the bog standard rom although i am using it with a virgin simcard so it maybe unlocked)
Laptop running Vista Ultimate.
8gb Micro SD card
I would like to upgrade the rom to 6.5 or something with manila built in, Ive searched for guides but they all look very confusing to me :S
If anyone would point me in the right direction or where to start or a simple guide it would be apreciated
I will also give a donation to the rom creator.

WM 6.5 on HTC clone ?

Hello guys.
I have purchased a HTC clone also known as the HTY 3238 Model.
Basically as far as I am aware this is pretty much a clone of the 3232 Official design.
Now I have seen WM6.5 ROMS on this site for the Official 3232 model but I was wondering if anyone has successfuly put WM6.5 on the HTY 3238 Cloned model ?

Oh and if it is indeed possible could someone provide some links to what I will need/guides.
I have had a look round and I think I have found what I need but I just want to be sure just so that I dont brick my phone lol.

While there is info about various 6.5 ROMs in that thread BUT the general feeling there is that Clones cannot flash from 6.1 to 6.5. I know because I asked the question there and in other Jade threads.
The thread about Sunno Clones has users who supposedly have flashed from 6.1 to 6.5.

I *think* he said, prior to your post that no one in that thread said that they were able to flash from 6.1 to 6.5.

Possible
I to hace the Clone and upgrades with the Smart.upr on my memory card. I did have to do a few things.
1. Small Memory card I used a 1 GIG card.
I took out the Sim card. and did it by holding down OK, Left Green Button then the power. it started working in a minute or so . IT took 10 Min to finish.
I tried all other ways and they DID NOT Work. Best of Luck...

I also updated my T3238 Clone from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5 without any problems and it was working fine.
The only problem was that I could no longer define buttons with different programs. In WM 6.1
I used "AEButton Plus" and with that programm I could do that. Because I want to push only one button while I am driving in order to use Voice Speed Dial. Therefore I went back zu WM 6.1.
Now I only have to push the ok-button a little bit longer, tell my phone whom to call while IGO is still working.

When I had problems with the ROM I had, I realized how difficult it is to try to flash ROMs and end up with a working product. As a result of that incident, I also learned that there are differences between ROMs and that all versions are not created equal or fully functional.
As a result, I now believe it is best to stick with what you have. 6.1 supposedly is felt to be better than 6.5 which is buggy IMHO. Hopefully WM7 will be better but that is a year away.

I completely agree to you. I only try to flash a rom when I'm 100 % sure it's the right rom for my device and if I have the original rom to go back.

there are article that explain installing for HD2

Simply put: No. The HD2 is the ONLY device with the same hardware as the HD7, which makes porting possible. Even then, the porting process is not easy.
Don't expect any custom WP7 roms for the I8000.

1) How to install windows phone 7 on samsung omnia b7610?, it has wmp 6.5 installed in it if not possible then is der any other os that

2) there are sum rom available for b7610 but after installing them all function of my phone will work properly? i mean to ask that my camera, msg inbox, wifi, bluetooth, speakers etc will work properly.
3)final question is after intalling the rom, again restoring my windows mobile os is possible ???

If you read the reply, you'll see there's no chance to port WP7 to Omnia II. Please don't ask again what was already answered.
And if you surf this web, you'll find that you can use Windows Mobile 6.1, 6.5, 6.5.x and also Android Froyo . Nothing more.
