So I was looking for something better then the stock softkeys or Button Savior. I found LMT. Check it out.

It probably isn't necessary, but back up your system if you haven't done ever.

Krsmqn,
Very nice find. Linux Ubuntu has Launcher like this, Google Best Launcher for Ubuntu - some of them are really nice.
This works great on my KFHD7. I'm using it in conjunction with Fullscreen Toggle to be rid of the stock navigation bar. I love the pie thing. Dandy.
LMT runs nicely on my kf 1st gen. The only thing better is the pie from PA 3.

PA is paranoid android, a 4.2.2 ROM that is buildable by source. A developer would have to build PA 3 from source specifically for kf2.

I'll try to explain this best I can. When I first installed Nova Launcher on my N7 it had a different kind of google search on the top left where it said google and right next to it was a microphone and directly on the far right had 3 vertical dots where I could click and get nova settings and system settings. It for some reason isnt there any more and I would like to know how to get it back. I dont care for the normal google search bars I liked the one that was originally with Nova. Hopefully that made sense. thanks

I am not sure about the vertical dots but the transparent google search bar is from android 4.0. You can change to that under the nova settings.

I had the layout you described originally then it went away and then I flashed a new kernel and it came back (it was M-kernel over Stock). Now I'm running franco.Kernel and it's still there. No idea what happened... I run tablet UI on PA right now.

Install LMT launcher and you will even have it with the stock or any other rom (root required). Available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150.
if you want to see pie grow use pa, this is where it comes from anyway and this is where it gets better almost daily. rootbox is developing it as well in their own way, which is cool.
lmt on the other hand is almost a carbon copy, but lacks function where it matters and lacks badly. even bringing it up is silly - on the nexus plattform, where almost all rom have pie because its open source. except cm.
why'd anyone wanna make do with a hack. you know, you dont have to see android progressing, but getting the newest and seeing ideas take shape and form is so much more fun than taking substitutes. thats why we're on nexus, no?

By that I assume you mean multitasking right? Then yes, yes it does. If it's not enabled by default (which I'm pretty sure it is) then it'll almost certainly be somewhere in the settings.

Not the recents button, there's actually a button which switches between the app your on and the last app you were on. Think of like the alt+tab shortcut on windows. Where you switch between two apps back and forth. I know AOKP does it but they don't have pie. Carbon and xylon both seem to have it with pie implemented, I was wondering what other ROMs have it. I've attached a picture of xylon with the last app being the one furthest to the right

You cannot get all the features back however you can try
GMD SPen control, as it has some SPen functions, used it myself without issue.
for pie control and more i use LMT.

Hmmm... GMD looks promising. Thanks alot. But... does your answer also mean I can forget about re-flashing S-Pen API separately somehow, and re-flashing the original S-Pen apps? Is that a totally stupid idea?
I know some of you readers will think "well, why did you root and flash another rom from the begining, if you liked it before?". Well it was originally full of bloat - we all know that - and the only thing worthy was the S-Pen features and the pen itself.
Anyone tried?
Thanks again.

I like the menu pop up when you click the pen, to take screen shots and take a quick note. Honestly I rely on them daily since I use my phone for work also, I probably wont flash due to this.
I had a Moto X Pure and was running a rooted version of the stock ROM..... I installed Layer's manager and the layer of my choice (Dark Stock) and it worked.
I tried this with my Axon 7, the Layers manager installed fine and ran, but I couldn't find any of my installed themes to apply? Is there a setting that needs changed in a ROM in order to be able to change the theme, or are we just not there yet?

First of all, Layers has been deprecated and Substratum has taken it's place. Although it does have legacy support for Layers still. And secondarily, (maybe a silly question, but I'm just going on the way you've worded your question) did you download the theme(s) you want to try from the play store? And then there's also a good chance, even though android now has (some) native support for RRO themeing, that some things like the ui and dialer etc will not themes as the commits are not there from ZTE.

I seen there was a new name with "Layer's" being secondary in some of the descriptions? A lot can change in a month, because I was using "Layer's" just last month on my Moto X Pure and had no idea it was going away.
Yes, I did download the theme I wanted from the PlayStore (Dark Stock).
I may try it again since I've done a few more things to it....And I realize that not everything is "theme-able", mainly looking for just a few things, like the notification cards in the pull down and my settings menu.
But the fact I was still using the Layers Manager was probably the issue. I just installed the Substratum manager and it worked, at least for the notification cards. The settings menu wasn't completely themed, so I un-theme'd it.
This is all I really wanted! My PlayStore is also themed, the rest is left alone.

The settings *DID theme, but they looked like cards with a white background and you could see around the edges and the gaps between "groups". It didn't look very good, so I un-themed the settings.
Phone didn't theme (didn't expect it to)
Contacts didn't theme (didn't expect it to)
Playstore did theme
Calculator did theme
I don't use Gmail, but I'm sure it would have
Nova did theme, but I've already got the search bar colored the way I want it, so I un-themed it too
I normally don't theme the calendar or Google Photos, because I've had issues with the apps after they update - so I leave them alone.
No, not familiar with TBO? Is that "Total Black Out" or "Team Black Out"? If so, I have seen those.....But I like the more dark gray, or dark gray-blue themes as opposed to total black.

That's great news. I'm thinking maybe with that, Nova Launcher and TBO theme able apps for Google I may just be able to live with the factory ui for a while until we can get something more aosp once I get mine. But this is nice to have more of an aosp flavor for now. BTW, have you tried installing Xposed for other personalized modification?

I normally don't do Xposed with a custom ROM, but Xposed is great at modding a stock ROM....So, yes I installed Xposed for just a couple small things (using GravityBox):
1) Round battery icon
2) Center clock
3) More music volume steps (30)
I also used emoji switcher and have "Emoji One" emoji's.

Oh man, this is pretty much all I need to get me by until some actual development starts up. That is if we ever get sources or AOSP type ports. Only thing I worry about with ports is full functionality of all the features this phone has and oft times battery life can take a hit due to lack of full optimization. Thank you.

From looking at the Substratum page, it seems like it has two modes -- one with root and one without. Is that accurate? It'd be nice to have themeability while still staying stock.
