I'm on stock unrooted 4.2 and I can expand my missed call notifications and my email notifications etc. But I can't expand my missed text notification. I thought this was a native jelly bean thing. Is it only supported on cm 10?

Edit: I'm using the stock messaging app

Bump

It depends on the app.

That was useful stevie, well done.
In answer to your question Censura, no, it's not a native feature, it's a CM10 addon feature that is massively desirable and I missed very much when I got this phone, which is why I have a stock ROM with the CM10 MMS.apk and this gets me the drop down features that you are missing. Feel free to PM me, and I will send you the APK. I took it from a standard CM10 nightly although I tried a couple of them before settling. All you need to do is drop it in your System apps folder and check permissions ofc. What I do suggest is backing up the original MMS.apk as I'm expecting OTA to fail with CM10's MMS.apk.
Thanks. But I have not rooted yet. Lame that Google didn't include this

Are there any custom roms that have true tablet UI. I've tried three or 4 different ones and there all the scrappy stock UI

Paranoid Android does. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29418878
Have you also tried changing the DPI to 160 in build.prop and changing settings/system/font size to make text readable?

Have you tried Paranoid Android? It allows complete customization of UI's for different apps including system UI. It's not a tablet mode ROM but it allows you to put systemUI in Tablet UI. Read up on it in Original Development. Version 2.0 should come out soon so if you are interested, I'd just wait for it to be released.
SGT7, EOS, PA*, Stock with the mod. Any ROM at 160DPI

So I got phandroid it's awesome but is there a way to get quick dock to go away and have the app drawer icon in the upper right hand corner, or am I missing something?

What's wrong with enabling it on stock?
Has anyone else noticed this?
On my previous phone, I would get the regular notifications and could choose whether I expanded them or not. With the Nexus 4, all my notifications seem to come pre-expanded. Is there anyway to disable this feature?

Anyone?

When you have 1 notification it expands when you have multiple it comes unexpanded. ie you get 1 text its expanded, you get a text and an email and downloaded an app, its not expanded.

Is there an option menu where I can turn that off? I prefer not to have the notifications automatically expand, even if it's only the first one
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Does anyone know if there is a way to stop notifications from automatically expanding?
I don't think there's a way that you can. You would have to ask a Developer to code that for you in a custom ROM.

No, as of right now it is not possible.
Today I read a post that talked about some app of quiet hours.
I my mind is not bad I remember that android had this on 4.0.4???? Am I wrong? Cause my nexus 4 on 4.2.2 doesn't have it.
Thanks

Not on stock. CM has had it since gingerbread though. Maybe even froyo.

PA must have added it in because I have it and I'm running PA.
You could also use the app called - Battery Widget. It has the feature to set up quiet hours. You could also setup a tasker script for the same.
Thanks , mm yeah, I thought that was a stock option.
It would be nice google to add it.

Google just puts the bare minimum and if you want more. Do it yourself and install a app or flash a custom rom. That's the joy of having android, the possibilities of adding things yourself
I personally don't use profiles.

Good morning everyone, I am new user and just purchase the Nexus 4 ...
I would like to make one question ...
When I get calls a black bar appears with the answer options ... how make to that bar stay transparent? Is there any MOD?
Because I leave most of the contacts with photos in high resolution and then it covers the whole picture.
Thank you
Ha! You read my mind. I was going to ask that question also. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you, Lu. But if anyone is reading this, and knows of a solution, please answer in this thread
Thanks!

No option but to use a custom ROM or full screen caller id like apps.
Stock ROM is still having this bug.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
got it
Until now this was the only thing that bothered me was that Stock ROM 4.3 ..
Anyone else?
Is it custom ROM specific? Don't recall seeing full screen caller ID on Cyanogen or AOKP
