Craigslist possible purchase-bricked tablet - Transformer TF300T General

I have found an Asus TF300T on CL and the owner claims this:
"I unlocked it, tried to root it and then I did the mistake of wiping the tablet. that caused it to delete everything. and since there was no back up to any of the system it cannot boot. There is no hard reset option. You cannot enter the recovery menu. it is completely stuck in the asus loading screen. the only thing that works is APX mode but you cannot install firmware through that mode."
Do you guys think that it's still possible to bring it back to life? My wife has the same tablet, but in red.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm a newbie, so I don't know about these APX, etc jargon. I can follow a step by step instructions. I have played with cell phones, but not with a tablet yet.

Sorry; no! If someone needs parts ok.

Yes, is $100.
So, is a no go.

If the tablet came with ICS and was NEVER updated to JB, you could possibly get NVFlash to work. But, if you can't get into fastboot, then it's also unlikely.

I would maybe be interested in this for parts. If you intend not to buy could you post the link or something?

I would not mess with it. The only thing it is good for now is parts. You could, indeed, change out the motherboard but that will cost money. You cannot RMA it either because the original user said he unlocked it, thus voiding the warranty. A paid RMA to replace the main board is not worth it, considering you would already have to pay the original $100.

Might buy boot-looping Xoom, questions

Hello,
So I bought my Xoom over the weekend when I never heard back from a Craigslister about a Xoom they have that is bootlooping.
Finally got back to me today and I am looking to fix it, and make a little profit.
Guy explained he knows it can get into Fastboot and mentioned RSD lite so I know he has done some research but ultimately he said he is not good at computers and cannot fix it.
My question is what do I need to consider? If I can access hboot ( from power off wait til see M and hit Vol - right?) I should be good to go is my understanding. Is there any way to run a diagnostic and see if there is hardware issues going on?
What would you do I guess lol
He said I could tinker with it first. I am familiar with ADB and rooting / custom roms on Android but have only had my Xoom for about 3 days.
Thanks
If you can definitely get into fastboot, you can recover it; simple as that. Whether there are hardware issues is another matter.

The question is, how much are you willing to pay if you can't fix it, then if you can you will be happy, if not you should stay happy.
Bootloop can be software but they can easily be hardware too so better be safe than sorry
take a laptop with you and do "fastboot devices' on the spot.
If the computer can see it then it can be wiped clean and fixed
It's $300 and it wouldn't kill me, obviously wouldn't be ideal but not the end of the world either.

That's what everyone told me when mine went into a boot loop. I was able to flash the new images in fastboot, but it never came out of the boot loop.

At what point would I be able to run that command? When powering up, at the M etc?

@OP
If seller knows about Fastboot & RSD Lite, he's probably on this forum. Might even be in this thread.
HEY SELLER just let me figure this out and I'll buy it right off ya, OK?
If you CAN get out of it that certainly a very good price. Most cases I think I have seen have been recoverable. Maybe ask the seller how he got into this situation in the first place, might give you a better understanding of how to fix it.

[Q] The transformer doesnt turn on after replacing build.prop

Hi guys!
I rooted my tf101 2 days ago because a would like to run gameloft games.
Everybody sad that i need to replace the product.model for example to A500 or GT-P1000 or XOOM. But it hasnt worked. So i replaced the full build.prop to the Xoom's, and the transformer hasnt started since then. Its just loading the grey Asus logo forever. I dont know what should i do, please help !!!!!!!!!!!
Did you do a nandroid backup?
Did you save a copy of the build.prop? If you did, use ADB to push it back to your tablet
oááá
Yes i saved the original build.prop, but into the tablet's download folder. So i cant get it. A tried to hard reset but it stops at the same point (the grey asus logo).
And how should i get a new build.prop?
windows
and windows does not support it because the tablet can turn on
See if you can ADB pull the build.prop or see if someone can post one (are you on stock ROM?).
You could also try manually flash the latest firmware from ASUS
how

Here are your options. Try in this order. Look up and properly research how to do each solution.
1. Adb
2. Download firmware from Asus and flash.
3. Nvflash
4. RMA

At this point #2 seems like a good idea.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587593
If not try setting up ADB somehow. In certain situation ADB can still work even on the stuck Eee Pad screen.
Post your serial # to see if it's NVFlash compatible.
If all above failed, RMA.
RMA
Guys, thanks a lot for the help, but all failed. I have tried everything u have said but fail.
Now I am at RMA, only one more question: I pressed Power and Volume down buttons, and set hard reset. The questions is that did it delete the root, so wont asus recognize that i rooted it ?
Thanks and RMA

A factory reset only delete users data. It doesn't alter the os in anyway. If your tf is stuck there's no way for Asus to tell of it's been rooted. They'll probably just flash the latest OS onto it.
Feeling happy

You never posted your serial#. Could be a slight chance you have an SBK v1 which you can NVFLash
To play gameloft games all you need to do is some googling and look on a thread with confirmed gameloft working on tf101
.....change model was probly more of changing the model on gameloft website. No wonder google is trying to block the exploits.
THIS. Is why you shoulden't root. Wth man why would mess around with stuff like that.

A501 with ICS is bricked - Need basic advice.

Before I start, I'll say that I have searched extensively about bricked A50x tablets and possible recover paths etc. There is so much information out there that I need to weed out the noise by asking a few basic questions.
Scenario: The A501 was running stock OTA ICS and has been for a while. When I got home yesterday, it was powered off but on charge. I tried restarting it and it just stopped at the "android" logo, having passed the ACER logo. Retried a number of times but the same thing each time. Tried a "pin reset" on it, just in case it changed anything. It did, by making it stall at the ACER logo instead. I have done the basics of clearing userdata/cache etc but this doesn't help. It does attempt to enter recovery mode but obviously fails as I don't have a valid ICS recovery "update.zip" file. It will not use an A501 HC 3.2.1 image but I seem to remember that you can't "go back" once you have gone up to ICS. My gut feeling is that I have had an eMMC failure and that the tablet is probably "toast".
a) Has anyone got a FULL A501 ICS rom image that I can try in stock recovery?
b) Is there any point in trying a FULL A500 ICS rom image? If so, as I need the 3G and GPS, can I "convert" from A500 to A501 later?
c) If APX mode is the only recovery method, is there an A501 specific procedure, especially if I have to start considering bad eMMC recovery?
d) Given the age of the tablet and the fact that it's over a year old, so out of warranty, should I even bother as it may be on it's way out permanently?
Regards and thanks for helpful responses.
Z.
@zardoz99.... I apologise in advance for this reply not being really helpful. I think you should try and reach "MoscowDesire" - in my opinion he is one of the most knowledgeable gurus of the A501. You could hold on to this thread and hope he sees it or you could PM him.
Hmm.. Tried to do an APX reload using both an A501 and an A500 EUU but in both cases it just stops at about 15%. No errors or warnings given.
From looking at other posts that have documented the same symptom, it seems that the only solution has been a replacement motherboard by Acer.
As this is one of the 64GB units, that's not going to be cheap, so I am calling this one "deceased". My new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be arriving today to replace it.
Thanks for reading...

[Q] Problem with partitions...

Hi, everyone...
I need your guide/help with my Iconia A500.
In January it "bricked" (stuck on Acer Logo), I sent it to Acer Support because I tried to flash it but failed every time (and I stucked in APX mode only), but I haven`t warranty, so they only said me "The motherboard is broken, your tablet never turn on again, the repair will cost you 500 dollars" (aprox.)... I didn't accepted the reparation because the tablet cost me 350 dollars (aprox.)... yeah, Acer logic.
When they returned me the tablet I tried to flash it again with APX Flash tool, after a few tries, I could flash with bundle 3 and installed an HC stock rom... the tablet works fine, until I tried to update to ICS (through the Android Update Menu), then my tablet start to update, the proccess finished, but never boot, it stucked on Acer Logo.
So I reflashed bundle 3 with APX Flash Tool and I did it again, the tablet turned on and worked very well... thinking it only was a random error or something like that, I tried to update to ICS again, but this time the update proccess repeat and repeat (the screen with the progress bar) like 3 times and then stuck again in Acer Logo... so I tried to reflash again... but I can't do anymore...
After a nigth of tries and research, I concluded that I messed up the table partition, when I tried to flash with APX mode it stuck in "Formatting 4 (or 6) partition, please wait" and manually with nvflash it shows the "0x120002" error.
What can I do?
I know it isn't a hardware fail, because the tablet worked fine although in Acer Support said me it never work again...
I really aprecciate any help you can give me... thanks!
(Sorry for the long post and my bad English).
It's a hardware fault!!! Sooner or later it will die 0x120002 error.
Install a new motherboard 50$ on ebay

How can I "just live with HC"?
I tried and tried to reinstall it, but I couldn't even flash the bootloader...
What should I do to install HC again?
thats the thing with a h/w fault - with the acer its the memory chip, there is no fix except a new mobo - it may already be fried if you cannot flash anything.
I figured if you managed to go back to HC before you could do so again - seems not! Even if you did manage to get something on there, it will happen again and again until it dies. For the sake of $50 I know what I'd be doing...

Nexus 6P: Bootloop

Hey, Thanks for taking the time to help.
Device: Nexus 6P
Previously Working ROM: Pure Nexus
Recovery Type Was: TWRP
So, I was on Pure Nexus just fine and decided okay! It's been a few updates I'll just update to the newest version. Went ahead and did a Clean Flash, wiped everything in TWRP except the Internal Data, proceeded with a Flash for the new Vendor Image and then to the newest ROM. Restarted and an immediate boot loop.
Thought okay, whatever. I'll just use the my backup that I have! booted into TWRP did backup.. still boot loops. At this point I'm pretty upset cause I know I'm in a pretty terrible spot now, so I decide to do a Factory Image complete restore through Fastboot flash-all.bin.
CONTINUES to boot loop after that, also doesn't even install the stock recovery or something because after a stock flash it shows "No Command". Decided okay, I'll flash TWRP and attempt a factory reset in there, do so. Still boot loop.
So yeah, here I am.
Any advice?
The bootloop of death may have caught up with your phone. When did you get the phone, you may have to rma the device. There is a thread here that many have the same issue. Some have gotten rma out of warranty some didn't. You may want to try.
Hey, the "No Command" is actually stock recovery. You should see the Android on its back with it's chest plate open or something like that. A red exclamation mark in a triangle as well, IIRC.
When you're on that screen, hold power and press and release volume up and that'll take you into stock recovery. If that doesn't work, do it the other way around. Hold volume up and press power.
If you can get into stock recovery, you should be able to use ADB to pull your files, at least.
My 6P screen crapped out yesterday and I just had to pull data myself, let me know if you need any help.
Thanks for the replies, still stuck in a boot loop even after trying another Factory Image in case the one I got was just no good.
Still nothing, was able to get into the recovery even with the no command thing to Factory Reset/Wipe Cache and the problem still persists.
I'm at a loss at this point, I even tried to flash each file in order manually instead of with the flash-all command anddddddd nothing In the end, I'll probably try and RMA since I'm still within a year.
Anyone been through the RMA process want to give any tips on the process? Should I re-lock the boot loader before sending it in?
Don't even bother, you're screwed basically. Call Google or Huawei were you bought it from and ask for a out of warranty RMA. I got mine only last week after they had it for a week. Prepared to be given the run around if this is with Huawei. Google is currently out of 6P's so you might be given credit if you bought from them, that's a big BUT. Good luck and I hope you have a backup of your files off the phone.

Actually, I'm still within the 12 months. But I know that the whole Custom Rom thing kind of voids that. I did end up calling Huawei and ended up getting the in-warranty RMA started but... kind of scared cause I'm not sure if the whole flashing the thing with a non-offical ROM gets flagged some how.
Should I call back and specifically request an OOW RMA? Or just take my chances with the In-warranty RMA?
They do not care about custom roms. Just send it in with a factory reset. I sent mine in with Android O and they were fine with it
I'm sorry I don't know who to turn to for help. I have a Nexus 6p and it is stuck in bootloop. I'm phone illiterate so I don't even know how to go about fixing it. There are very important photos and voice notes on there of my father that I would like to preserve as they are the last things I have of him before he passed away. Willing to pay $ to get this fixed. Any ideas?
