I bought a NOTE 3 N9000 in the U.S. for use on T-Mobile in Hungary (Europe.), and the question is can I active the phone and use it in Hungary.
I am reading what seems to be contradictory information about regional locking and un-locking on this and other sites
By the way doesn't anybody have a list of countries by region?
Thanking in advance for your time and patience
I guess not. US gsm bandwidth is different than in EU.
Plus, regional lock.

Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9500) currently running Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. I bought my phone abroad in Gibraltar in September 2013 and it was unlocked to any network. As the phone was not bought in the UK, my phone is not locked to any carrier and therefore the carrier cannot send the settings needed to update my phone to 4G. I have been in contact with my carrier (three) and they have told me that it is not a problem on their end as my phone is unlocked. They have advised me to go to a Samsung Shop so that they can sort it out for me but i was wondering if there was a way i would be able to fix it myself?
Here are some details about phone:
Model Number - GT-I9500
Android Version - 4.4.2
Baseband Version - I9500XXUFNC1
I'm pretty sure the GT-I9500 is not capable of LTE.

I have looked a lot online and i am pretty sure that it is capable of LTE. I might need to double check with Samsung to be sure but my research online has said that the I9505 is not LTE and the I9500 is. There is mass confusion over their capabilities though so i am not 100% sure.
I9500 doesn't support LTE. I9505 supports it. I own I9505 and LTE is working fine.

Not sure where online your finding BS that says the i9500 has LTE (4G) you had better delete it from your bookmarks.

Hi,
I'm currently using moto g2 but looking for something more powerful with dual sim support. The best thing of moto g is the possibility to save the contact number to one of the sims so next time you want to dial that number you don't have to bother with choosing the right sim. Your phone will do it for you automatically. Is there similar functionality for zuk?

Default it does not have this option. But you could use True Phone app from Play Store. I use it because of the option to set contacts to a specific sim.
Does this app work fine with built in dual sim functionalities? Can you please elaborate some more on this topic? Does the call log saves the sim? Can you save sim for SMS as well?

I am the owner of both the Honor 7 Euro 16GB version (PLK-L01) and the Chinese 64GB version (PLK-AL10) so I thought it would be useful to put together some of the differences in case anyone is considering one or the other. I will list the Euro device feature vs Chinese device feature:
Hardware
Cardboard box vs Solid Plastic presentation box which doubles as a bedside stand
16GB vs 64GB
No NFC vs NFC
Software
Google Apps preloaded vs Google Play Store must be installed via the Honor Market and then apps installed from there
No call recording vs Built-in call recording
Nav bar is configurable but not hideable vs Nav bar is configurable and also hideable
3rd tab on Dialler is SMS messages vs 3rd tab on Dialler is "Yellow Pages" which is a Chinese equivalent of True Dialler and of no real use outside China (the SMS app is separate to the dialler, but cannot be disabled)
A little bloatware vs A little more bloatware, most of which can be uninstalled
The Chinese version can be used quite nicely in Europe with very little Chinese showing up. Both devices have Marshmallow beta versions available, though I suspect the Chinese version will get updates sooner as they won't have to go through Google accreditation.
The devices are outwardly visibly the same.
Thanks I really wanted to see something like this. But a little mistake was made - 16gb vs 64gb ROM not RAM ;D

Are you sure? If it was Read Only Memory, you wouldn't be able to save anything to it. Lol

Nope, I'm sure. ROM is divided in to partitions one for the system files which we don't have acces to and the other one wich is for the apps, video, music, photos, all the files we store in the phone. It's the permanent memory, while RAM is temporary memory which resets everytime you clear it or turning off the phone/computer. European honor has 2GB RAM and Chinese has 3GB RAM

I stand corrected.
However, you have a small mistake - European and Chinese Honor 7 both have 3GB RAM
LTE Bands
Hi AMoosa, are you able to test differencies in FDD LTE bands support between this two versions? Mainly if chinese version suport FDD LTE B7 2600 MHz band. Thansk.
there is however another difference, the Chinese one is far more expensive to obtain.......
With the discounts that Huawei sometimes posts, in the UK the European costs 209GBP and the Chinese one I haven't seen cheaper than 317GBP online.....
Chinese honor 7 doesn't have 4g in 800mhz band, in europe . It's disabled

You are right. My 16GB cost 209.99 and the Chinese one cost 320. However, you get a lot more for the extra 110 quid - 4 times as much memory, NFC, and more functionality in call recording etc. I felt it was worth it. Normally phones cost 100 more for each memory step eg 16GB to 32GB.

Is the Chinese model worth buying in 2016 for use in the USA?
I'm on T-Mobile and am debating whether to get this phone or a different model
