720p record on defy +

hi im gonna buy a defy + and i need to know if defy + with CM9 rom or CM7.2 supports 720p video!
and the other is ... what's the best rom of CM9? quarx , epsylon , jordan?

defy/defy+ doesn't support 720p recording except on MS2GINGER . there will be stable ICS ROM likely in a month,or you can try the nightlies.

Yes, MS2Ginger allows 720p recording but it's useless because of low framerate ~15fps.
Best balance between high enough resolution (848X480) and decent framerate (24fps) is in WIUI ROM by Wajk.

but cm7 supports 854x480 @ 30fps

Well I've been a long time MIUI user so didn't knew that!
But anyway the point is, framerate is more important than resolution for a decent video experience.

You can get 720p only on Moto ROMS like the following:
Walter79's MS2GINGER
Prasanna modified blur ROM
I was on base 1321-asiaretail and both these ROMs worked well.
As far as the usability of 720p of these ROMs I am not so sure because I dont use it and have not compared it with my digicam.

Does a kernel improve the battery life? If it does, then which one do you recommend for Defy Green Lens? Will it work for CM7, CM9, WIUI and WIUI V4? THANKS!

There is only the froyo one if you want a working camera. There are gingerbread ones which are better on battery and in app performance but the camera won't work.
I'm not sure how the greenbreadmod works as to whether you still get the benefits of a gb kernel on the green lenses but it provides you with a working camera for stock gb roms like Walters ms2ginger.

Butter ROM for Defy

Hi,
Which is the smoothest(not the fastest) ROM for your Defy(+)?
Now I'm on the CM10-20120828-NIGHTLY-mb526.zip(1.3GHz), thanks Quarx, great ROM, but it's not so smooth as I expected.
Sometimes lags a lot.

GREEN LENS or RED LENS?

I would say CM7 (with a replacement launcher, because ADW isn't so smooth) or Ms2Ginger. I didn't try miui since a long time, but it used to be smooth.
@bds bamrah: if he used CM10 for MB526, then his phone is apparently Red lens.

try whiterabbit 1.6 is fast as hell and the interface is really nice

Read the various guides. It will work. Make sure you only flash MB525 Defy ROMS, not MB526 or you may lose your camera.

Camera works great on my MB525 Green Lens running quarx cm10 nightly 20120912. Has worked for me since the first nightly.

Mhh Camera MX doesn't work and the other app is awful. Any patch to activate it on default camera app?

If you have Bayer (RED) lens Defy, it should be a default feature, but if you have GREEN lens Defy, it's not very possible to record HD with your little baby

Yeah my Defy is red lens, by default the camera recorder records on hd?

not on cm10. if u want to record in hd u have to flash ms2ginger or wiui rom
