Hello everyone, I noticed that the NST's default screensavers leave behind an afterimage combined with FastRefresh. I put together a really simplistic zip containing a bunch of 600x800 black, white and gray scale images.
So, whenever the screensaver comes on, it basically refreshes the screen. I think the white SS is probably the best, but I included a whole bunch of different shades just in case.

Just unzip into your screensaver directory and go to Nook Color Tools -> screens -> screensaver and then change to SOLID COLORS (or whatever you choose to title the folder)
Do you mean coming out of the screensaver there are still ghosts?
I don't use any of those "fast/no refresh" mods.
Going into the screensaver it flashes black, then white, then the actual screensaver.
Coming out of the screensaver, the lockscreen is what displays next.

Whenever I try to use a custom picture for my background for my today screen, the image has a "white out" look to it, meaning its a very bright version of my image. How can i use the original image for my background?
When you set your wallpaper, it will ask about transparency.
Set it to 0% and it'll look just like it should!
ok thanks! my problem that i was using settings>>today>> then the "Use this picture as the background"
but is their anyway to change the lettering to white without adjusting the transperency of the background?
You mean the font color on the today screen? Isn't it white by default?
ok nevermind i got it, i forgot i had recently changed my theme too
I have the T-Mobile TP2 and the main color (tap, background and start menu drop) is navy blue. I want to change the color or put a background image that would make those the same image or color. Is their anyway to do this? I change the background color black, but the only thing that changed black is the home screen. The background for programs, bottom tabs and start menu drop is still navy blue. Looks really ugly.
This is probably what you're looking for. If you search for tmobile, there's a bunch of threads dedicated to debranding.

Thanks for the link vardig, I checked it out but I don't like the slider bar.
so that its just black? or do I have to make up a black JPG?!
I don't think you can have nothing. It does need at least a basic background wallpaper that can indeed be a black rectangle if you create it to the correct size and point to it using the "Pictures & Videos" app. That is for the basic Today screen that comes bundled with the Uni, unless you have customised it with some other software.
Not sure if anyone has noticed but when using a screensaver that is suppose to have a transparent background (be able to see what is on the desktop) it defaults to the background color chosen for the start screen theme.
An easy example is the bubbles screensaver that comes preloaded, the weird thing is when selected and you preview it, it previews with a transparent background you are able to see what is on your desktop, but when you let it run its time and it pops up on its own it replaces the background with the color theme you chose for your start screen.
any ideas on how to change it to remain transparent? I've tried changing the background color of the start screen to transparent with Decor8 but the screensaver background still is not transparent.
attached are the images of how it should look and how it actually looks.
never noticed it, but i tried and indeed the background isn't transparent. strange
I know, a question I really should be able to work out. Sorry.
I can see how to change the background of the folder, but not the colour of the font. Problem is, the font is white and I have a white background - makes it hard to see
