Okay so i had this idea, if it were possible to make a case like the ones for the iphones or ipods where it has the battery in it for longer battery life. Then also do a micro sd card slot in it. Is it possible?
Very difficult at this point no usb on the go for sd the batt life could be extended via the usb port tho

Hey guys, new atrix owner and I'm loving it! However I'm having an issue where my sd card is not being recognized. I've searched the forums with mixed results. I think I'm having the issue with the connectors not touching properly but I dont know how to fix it
I've tried several sd cards and also formatting it using a computer.
The option to mount sd card and format it on the atrix is grayed out.its not recognizing it as all.
Any help would be appreciated
you sure it pushed all the way in?
Yes its all the way in! And the right way up. I'm trying to use gingerbreak but it needs an sd card mounted for it to work

If it's brand new with this problem on multiple sd cards I would exchange it just to be sure it isn't a persistent problem in the future

That will be my last resort as im in australia and will have to send it overseas
Someone said you have to tighten something in the sd card tray but not sure what or how

Had same issue with my sdcard. Took it out while phone was turned on and put it back in, phone still on. Phone mounted it right away and I've had no issues since.
Beamed in from WinBorg 4G via XDA Premium app
Already tried that with no luck. Is there a way to root running 1.8.3 without the need of an sd card?

Fixed the issue. Anyone ever experiences the same thing heres what I did
Take the sd card out
Where you slot the card in push that little piece of metal down a little bit
What's happening is that theres too much room between the sd card and the piece of metal so it doesn't contact properly.
I used a small screw driver and now the atrix is rooted and all is well

What they said, I had to do the exact same thing to get my SD card working.
There are several same memory sticks of high capacity that would fit nicely jsut under the nexus and provide much needed extra memory. wonder if such a thing is available or indeed possible?
You can use an OTG USB Adapter, device must mehr rooted, and use the tool"stick mount:
If device is unrooted You can use the "nexus Media importer" from market.
Cheers

Yes thanks I understand that but a memory stick with an micro interface wouldn't need the cable. know they don't exist but wondered if any technical issue that would rule them out.
I think, there might be a problem to harm your connector port if the USB stick isn t quite small, a flexible cable is the better choice in my opinion...
But your idea is interresting..

I thought this was interesting too. Until I realised you'd need an adaptor to plug it into a computer. So no real benefit ...LOL

I bought a 64GB Kingston usb drive and use 'Nexus Media Importer", works great with HD films and music etc. It's a shame it can't be used as an SD card enabling installation of apps etc to it. Oh well, maybe in the future or I finally root my Nexus 7.
Just got my nexus today.
This thing is fast
But I discovered that it lacks a micro SD slot.
I have tons of things on msd cards now.
So the debate is whether to switch to a tf700 which has decent resolution but at least the stock rom is ridiculously slow and laggy
Does anyone have any experience with both of these platforms?

Had both, kept the nexus 10. The tf 700 isn't even in the same league as it.
I uploaded all my music to Google play, if your concerned about the micro SD buy a $2 OTG cable from eBay and a $5 micro SD card reader from amazon (or one that does both) and install a ROM that supports OTG (most do).
I'm currently using my micro SD from my S3 this way.

Thanks I was wondering. If there was a way to use a card reader with this
Google probably wants people to use the "cloud"
But unless they want to roll out nationwide wifi that even works in the middle of nowhere and make da clowd unhackable, they really do most consumers a disservice by leaving off the sd card reader
Well regardless of my brief rant thanks again for mentioning the whole OTG thing

Hey guys
Do any of you know if there is a camera connection kit available for the note 8.0 would really be a useful addition to it.
Only OTG cables, you can pretty much connect all sorts of storage media, with one. Whether plugging your camera into it, will work or not, is a case of try it and see.

Well it's more for taking my sd card put of my camera and pluging it in. Would it work with out rooting it?
No root needed, to take the card out and use it with your tab, you will need a USB card reader and the aforementioned OTG cable, that's it.

Recently, my phone has been taking a long time to charge. I am using the stock charger, but it is the same with every charger. It takes 10 hours to charge from zero to one hundred percent. I even lose battery sometimes while plugged in. A factory reset DID NOT help, neither did wiping the cache. What can I do? I need this phone.

Check what amperage your phone is being charged at... Google play store has an app called galaxy charging current lite. It'll tell you how much charge is going in.
The max a kitkat charge while screen is on is 1200mAh. While off it can reach 1900mAh. Pre-kitkat can do 1900mAh with screen on but it gets hot.
If your phone is charging only at 1000 or below, you may need to try a diff charger or a diff cable.
You probably have counterfeit charger. It could also be battery problem, I recommend replacing battery or getting new charger. Good luck.

Sounds like a dirty or malfunctioning micro usb issue to me. Try using a tooth pick or a piece of paper to clean out your micro usb slot. Hopefully it's just dirty and not malfunctioning.

I don't recommend this until you've checked with new battrry, charger, and cable. You can risk damaging the sensitive USB port on your phone and if that happens, the cost of repair is significantly higher.
