jutley,
That is exciting to hear jutley. The CM10 ROM on the Kindle Fire 2 has a solid start with just a couple of issues, one is the problem with HD Content - maybe our work on the Ubuntu ROM would help Haskcode since we were able to get beyond the display issue on the KF2. We will drop them a line.
Thank you for the post jutley!

Thats for KF2 which is supposed to have a stable build ^^

jailuis,
I realized my mistake at dinner time. I thought, "there is no way he was talking about the Kindle Fire HD 7", that ROM is pure garbage!" Then it hit me, your post was regarding the KF 2, ooops, my bad. Sorry for the garbage post! I will edit it

Will the Cyanogenmod Rom for Kindle Fire be an offical release from Cyanogen?

Hey Guys,
Will the Cyanogenmod Rom for Kindle Fire be an offical release from Cyanogen?
I would have posted this in the development section, but I don't think I have enough post yet.
Thanks,
Matt
I think it starts with a port and someone willing to maintain for the device
I honestly I think the excitement lays in ICS, I wouldn't expect any long term support for cm7.

I think the op was referring to cm9 which is based on ics.
it should be supported. this device will become more popular than you guys might think.

[request] MIUI ROM

I would really like to get a good reason to replace my nook color with a kindle fire, and i've noticed that the kindle fire has already seen tastes of CM7 and ICS (WITHIN A MONTH! ), but the one that would push it over the top would be the MIUI rom. Is there a developer that could work on this?
MIUI is not Open Source, so we'll have to see.
I'm getting the device for Christmas... so if its not started by then ill work on it ....
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
you sure it isn't open source? it got ported to my glacier before it was so called supported by miui by the glacier developer himself which ported it.

I have a Nook Color running MIUI too.
I love it . It's a good distribute.

Its not open source.... that's why its a "port" they build it from aosp but aren't opened source.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I am getting the device soon, and porting MIUI was the first thing on my mind. Since it is not open source, it is not possible to compiile it from source, but it is possible to port it from another device since we have cyanogenmod somewhat running. Just waiting to get my Kindle fire for now

I'll try to help where I can if I actually do get it, probably going to set up a kernel for KF, on the hope I do actually get one.

I use miui on my captivate and love it... I really like the amazon Rom but I might actually flash miui if someone ported it

I have a feeling after christmas is when there is going to be a lot of development work done. Based on the number of people getting it for christmas
This is exactly why i got the kindle fire to begin with. Unless some beats me to it it is my only goal to bring miui.us rom to kindle fire.. i will have a thread built on www.miui.us once i get it booted and obviously i will tweet @leeechmiui

CM7 is pretty much fully working now
I'm using it as my daily ROM.
I thought that Amazon Video was still not working.
Amazon Video
Works fine inside of CM7 using the browser, double tap to make it full screen
I never even used Amazon video anyway

I've not used MIUI, but from what I've read it seems to be designed with phone usage in mind. What are the benefits in having it on the Kindle?

My porting log - MIUI Gtab 2 7.0

Hello all of you!
This is my humble attempt in porting MIUI 4 to the TAB 2 7.0
This will be a log with entries every time progress is made
Base will be CM9 official, and I will port from the Nexus 7 MIUI 4. release
20. August 23:15 GMT +1 : Initial work started, getting a lookaraond whats in there. Porting files starts tomorrow after i return from school
21.August 18.38 GMT +1: /System almost fully ported, exept the updater-script
27.aug: fully ported, but does not flash
We should coloborate. wouldn't it make more sense to port from GNexus? CPU/GPU is more similar than Nexus 7.
Or is this something that's hardware independent?
Wanna take a peek at my current build? Doesn't boot, but also doesn't fail to install. Pretty sure I've only got buildprop errors to correct.
Shouldn't matter as much which one basing on, as if it is aosp not much change is needed either way.

Is there anyway to force a 8x8 or 6x6 icon mode through miui framework or something? We could mess with the LCD density all too.

Firefox OS for Kindle Fire

Is there by any chance we will get to ever see the Firefox OS on the kindle fire? Firefox OS will be released on Mid-2013 and is there by any chance will a developer will work on this OS? It would Bree awesome if we get this ported to the kindle fire, after all it is made to run on ARM processors.

Its very possible.
sent from a blaze of amazon
What I wonder is of there will requirements similar needed to run Ubuntu.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
I was looking into it and it doesn't look hat to build it for the kindle at all. Once I he a new computer next week ill try it out. (Testers?)
And it doesn't need nearly as much power of Ubuntu. It can function on a lot less, it's made for new low end devices.
That would be very cool to see run on the kindle. Would make me thing about getting one for my self
It would be very nice to see it run, it sucks that im not good at editing kernels though
I'am interested more in Ubuntu Tablet

Don't be so sure about that. It has recently been discovered that Ubuntu uses CM10 as it's base for Android devices. Hashcode's kernel has made this device much faster and much more capable than it was ever intended to be so it's not too hard to imagine, after the bugs are ironed out for the official full release, that it could be ported to the Kindle Fire rather easily and without too much of a drop in performance.

It will probably take time before that happens. Maybe a lot.

Another t thing is of this is a OS for Low-End Devices(-$200), then could this have some Enhancements, I mean the Kindle Fire came from a OS(v.2.3) that was for Low-End devices, so maybe it will run smoothly.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
Firefox OS is being primarily developed for under developed countries and so for low end devices in mind (so I read). If this is true, I would imagine that it would be screaming fast on a Kindle Fire.
Wouldn't mind playing with it if someone could figure out how to make a ROM for it.
I'm up to see it on the Kindle also. I don't particularly care for the concept of web based apps but if they make stand alone HTML5 software w/o a data connection required, that'd be sweet.
Same here. I been trying to get the Linux on Android app to work and its not work for me. So a Ubuntu on table would be awesome.

Those are previews and they barely work. This is not Otter 2. And Officially you need at least a 1GB of RAM and a bigger processor plus a lot more memory. Its way easier to build on Otter2 but this is Otter

Getting back on topic...
Firefox OS is currently being ported to the Kindle Fire HD7 and from the looks of it, we'll start seeing alpha releases within the next week or so. I'm not sure if there are any plans to bring it to the KF1, but I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to make it happen.

have some questions

1. is hashcode realizing soon the kernel for the kindle fire hd 7"
2. are persano tweaks good, what are their effects
3. that contest of speed test is still open, or it was all fake, or someone won it, or who is winning it?
4. can kinology be themed, like an cm9 rom, like status bar, because it is deodex
5. when we are getting the latest twrp

1- Yes, Hashcode is currently working on CM10.1 And the custom kernel for KFHD is on hashcode's current projects list, but no one can provide you with an ETA
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/current-projects/
2- Persano's tweaks are great, what you will notice right away is that start-up/boot time is significantly lower, applications start faster, CPU demanding games will be a bit faster, better internet speed, and other things.
3- No idea
4- Theoretically yes, But it will take sometime and even if it is completed it will be pointless since hashcode should be done porting CM10.1 to KFHD sometime soon.
5- Again, updating TWRP is on hashcode's current projects list, But don't ask for an ETA
thanks, so only question 3 have to be asked, i want to know who won the kindle fire hd, i saw a lot of score and i think who won or who have to won, he said that the winner will receive one, and the thread was no more replied, i dont want to think that was a lie or false

Prokennexusa states in the op of that thread that the contest will be over a 6 month period. The op was posted on 12/28/12. It also states that "We may offer a Nexus 7".

holefon, the contest will finish in 3 months more, so dont be inpatien , i m too inpatient, like all, i want to win, but if i not i wont be sad, i will be happy if that man that win share with us what he use and what he modified to his kindle so it can be that "fast", i say "fast" because antutu is hardware and not tweaks
