[Q] WiFi Direct in K1 Ideapad JB? - Thinkpad Tablet General

I just tried krook1's CM10 for K1. It's great! Thanks for the effort!
A quick question: I didn't see the WiFi Direct option in the setting. Is this supposed to be native in ICS or JB? Is this function available in K1 in JB?
Thanks!

Help for newbie with ICS and wingray

I had the wingray problem when I tried to update my xoom with ICS. Instead of waiting patiently for a fix, I put the EOS ICS nightly on my xoom. Now that the wingray problem is solved i'd love to put the regular ICS on my xoom. I've read through a lot of threads but am too confused.
Can anyone provide clear instructions on how to restore the regular version of honeycomb needed to upgrade to the ICS??
Thanks in advance for any help.

Why? The Eos wingray nightly at #37 is super stable, complete, higher performance and has more features than the "official update" and with Eos you can preserve your root. To go from a superb working rom to stock unrooted, have to flash using a usb stick and otg cable, then potentially have to root again (if you want to) just to get something less complete and less high performance seems crazy to me. But good luck if you want to.

Go here, signup (free), download and flash MZ604 Build HWI69 for US Retail
http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
Then do OTA's to get to 3.2
Then follow:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443042
You'll need the Moto OTG USB cable.
Good luck.

Actually you don't need the OTG cable's once you get back to full stock, you can use fast boot to flash cwm recovery. Make a slight modification to the update script (remove the first 2 asserts) and then use cwm to load the OTA. NOT FOR THE INEXPERIENCED! But it can be done, I and othersx have done it.

Again, I ask, Why? Just for a few games that don't run well?
Well, good luck.
Thanks for the replies. The EOS ICS is working pretty good for me. I just wanted to go to the leaked ICS so I can easily update over the air in the future. I'm not into many games so it's not about that.
The EOS is having problems with the GPS and it's driving me crazy.

There's a fix for the google location services that are missing from GApps 10. Check the wingray thread.
you can install ICS stock from this link:

[Q] Acer A501 Question

Hey guys im sorry in advance but I have no idea about this and maybe someone can help me out.
Is the Acer A501 compatible with all the roms and such that are in the A500 section?
I looked and I didn't see a seperate thread or forum for the A501 so I was hoping someone could tell me.
I dont even have the device yet lol.
Also has anyone heard that the A501 is supposed to get ICS on July 11th.
I saw that in another thread and was just hoping for some feedback.
Thank you all.
A500 roms work on the a501, but without 3g, because the a500 has only wlan. Heard the release for ICS on the a501 has moved to August.
I use the tegraowners ICS rom on my a501, and i'm very pleased with it. It supports the 3g module of the a501, and it's a thousand times better than the original acer crap.

Sure is. Get JB 4.1 at www modaco com/topic/357249-zte-v9-ver-41/ (add dots to make link work)
See the second post there.
JB 4.1 runs very well. There is also an updated JB 4.2 later in the thread, but I haven't tried it.

Can you flash this rom to the acer a500 as well? Couldnt find any notes in the forum link or anyone that attempted to do so

No the image for A200 will not run on an A500. For one thing the A500 needs a different kernel. It would not be very difficult to port it if someone wants to try. But I can't really do it myself since I don't have an A500 to test things on.

Hey man I have an A500 and am interested in helping you all test a A500 port if you are intending on creating one. Well the kitkat rom on a500 is not to my liking so maybe we can create one more together

Oh ok
Would you happen to have a rough time frame for the a500 release? I'm looking a new ROM and if it's close enough I'll just wait for this one

Well I think it could be close as there are only some graphical problems. Other than that everything basic seems to work already :victory:
