I have a fully bricked Acer A500. It works only APX mode. It isn't rooted and there isn't USB debug...
I tried repartitioning with the Badblock (A501.bat) but it didn't work. I get an error message, when it tried to format the partition 2 (BCT): BCT write failed.
After that I tried A500 APX flasher. It didn' work too. Same error in the debug window.
After that I tried manually upload the bootloader, boot image, ...etc. The error message was same. (Downoad sucessfully. BCT write failed)
I tried to use the root-3.2.1-V4 DotNetDetecter.exe but the issue was same....
Of corse I have UID and SBK.
Does anybody have any idea?
I'm not understanding it!

ISUE solved!
It was a hardware problem. The flash memory chip's solder was broken. I resoldered it. After that it works again!
Nice work m8, I think I can safely say, you're one of kind....I've not heard of anyone else attempting this fix u should edit the title to reflect yr tabs new found status...like mmc chip fault repaired...there are a couple of dozen folk i know of who would probably attempt this....dont spose u happen to have photos of said fix????

If I understand the A50x service manual correctly, the eMMC is a BGA chip. This is going to be a real hassle for anyone to work on that doesn't have a hot air repair station available.
Having spoken with Acer about my failed A501, they are not interested in a warranty repair, even though its only 14 months old. The EU 24 month warranty only applies if I can prove that the fault existed at time of purchase, which obviously I can't.
They want £55+ just to look at it and then presumably much more if I want it repaired. As it's a 64GB motherboard, the costs would be very high, so I am interested in a DIY repair. I have nothing to lose.
Does anyone have an ICS (4.0.3) EUU for the A501?

Hi everybody, this what happened:
I tried to flash my atrix with Atrix 1.26 Retail SBF through RSDLite.
After that it shut down and when i try to turn it on it says :"Failed to boot 0X1000" then it shuts down again. It doesn't even give me any option.
For the record, my phone was up to date (i got that wifi only system update by att). Also, this phone is unlocked and I have no warranty with any carrier.
I hope I didn't brick it.
Please give me simple solutions if there is any. Your help will b very much appreciated.
Thank you so much.
i'll let others break down the news to you..
Sorry bud, but I believe you now have a nice set of glass upon to look at.

Can't believe people are still doing this with all the warnings in the forums.
You tried to SBF back to 4.1.26 (Froyo) on a bootloader unlocked phone. You now have a very expensive reflective beer coaster!

This error also comes up with soft bricks which you can fix as you gave options to choose from and can recover. This guy has no options.

People are being helpful...by telling you sorry. If you need it for work, you'll probably just need to go buy a new phone ASAP. Like others have said, there are plenty of warnings and instructions on what/what not to do on your phone. Unfortunately, you missed those. Hope you can find another phone for cheap...
You have a hard brick, never try to downgrade. Nottach was able to fix his because he got a brick by upgrading, and he was lucky enough to figure it out. Downgrading on the other hand ruins your device, every time

We are helping you, by telling you that there's nothing that you can do. Your phone is hard bricked. There is absolutely no way to recover from a hard brick, period. You need to replace the phone. That is the reality, and there is no getting around it.
I was running CM9 on my Atrix when my digitizer went bad and I got a dead spot. I submitted it for warranty and before I sent it I tried to put it back to normal. I did something wrong I guess and ended up with a different boot error (didn't even give me an error code the screen was black unless I plugged it in I just got the NV flash thing). Anyways, I sent it in and the same phone came back completely working with a fixed screen. I think when they get it they hook it up with a factory cable and flash it back to stock with the SBK, which we don't even have access too. Just send it in for warranty saying it has software problems, and I can almost guarantee you it will come back working.

Bro do some reseatch that error message is a soft brick I believe I ran into a similar issue when I first roote it last year
Just thought I would weigh in that I received this same error code after an attempted SBF flash of zomgunlock-lite.sbf, and thought all hope was lost, but then I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27158667&postcount=153
The instructions there helped me un-brick my phone, and I'm a happy camper once again
Does anyone know a website for official repair centres or locations in the Uk?
Also...I think I have a super hard brick as my phone is not responding to anything, PC can't detect it. Does that mean Sunsung won't know if I have flashed a custom rom and how many times?
Is it possible to revive via a USB jig and how?
Thanks.

Guess its possible if the connection drops in the middle of an installation and you`re stuck when the download might not be complete or corrupt, especialy when going from GB to ICS.

Here http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/supportRepairSelfTracking.do?page=REPAIR.TRACKING
First register if you don't already have an account and request for repair. You will have the option to take it to a repair centre near you or send it to them for repair. I bricked mine when i flashed ICS, Binary count was zero but i had CMW installed. My phone was repaired free with no issues. I would advise you to just send it to them if your binary count has not increased. You will need to wait 2 weeks for repair though.
I was referring to the story I will tell Carphone Warehouse and Sunsung, I can't exactly go and tell then I flashed a custom rom that I made, they'll probably try and con me for begin so stupid for what I did.

I had a superbrick, where the phone wouldn't even switch on (Also my first brick even though i've been doing it for years). So I couldn't reset any binary counters or restore any firmware to hide what i'd done. It was as it was, and I sent it off to Samsung and they replaced the motherboard FOC for me
USB JIG was no use. You may as well make yourself a JIG for future reference, but I think in this instance, it might be a waste of time.
All I said was, that I restarted the phone and after that it wouldn't switch on again - That was it. They replaced the motherboard for me

I doubt they will know if the phone does not turn on at all but if you can get to download mode so can they. And they will know your binary count from there. I have also been flashing for ages and this is my first time as well bricking a phone. It doesn't feel good at all.
I've went through the service centre and it needs to be sent off to Glasgow in Scotland, is it not possible to deliver it to a closer repair centre?

Anyway I really wonder how Odin+CF Root will damage your usb connector. Your cable is problematic, not Odin.
He is saying that odin didn't recognize the problem with his usb. Perhaps something that could be improved upon. Could've been explained better though

Dear all,
Clearly odin cannot dommage physicaly a usb cable or we are all together living inside the Matrix.
What i try to explain is that my computer have a usb port not well configured. I try to use odin on this slot and odin they PASS but in fact the flash crash.
I change the port and reuse odin and this time it works.
So the only concern is link to the realiability of odin, the fact that it state that the flash was passed and it was not the case.
This tools works well it's only a warning and not at all a critic against it.

I understand there is swappa, but since the device is currently software bricked I am not able to sell it on there. I am selling it on ebay. It's an easy fix as it seems, I'm just too dumb to figure it out myself and I don't really use the device to care anyway. The only problem with the system (besides it being soft bricked), is that the plastic on the side of the usb port is broken off, but that doesn't affect the system at all.

You can probably get twice as much, maybe three times, if you take 20 minutes to flash it back to stock. This is fool-proof.

Do you mean the bootloader that needs to be written as T-Flash to a microsd using Odin 3.09 or higher? (as per 13-58_SM-N900_Boot_Recovery_Guide_rev1.0.pdf) Isn't that just the same as sboot.bin written raw to first sectors of microsd?
I would be interested to hear if you managed to use that just for the "extreme hacking" angle of it :good:

I do not think the microsd is enough - the Note3 ONLY boots from microsd if you short R4075 on the mainboard - there is a notice from Samsung service somewhere around with a name like 13-58_SM-N900_Boot_Recovery_Guide_rev1.0.pdf that describes the details (and comes with a good picture of what you need to short).

I have the same problem -but a recovery loop. I can't get my phone into either download or recovery mode. So what options are there to fix this loop?
