Use Rom manager to zipalign all your APKs.

Factory cable is now ordered and on its way.

bryanchapman9999,
There is indeed mixed results with Zipalign. I warn everyone from and ICS Modifications to the Kindle. It is
really it's own puppy and can not be compared to let's say a Nexus 7. Let's get to your question. You
will need a clean system.img image when you get the cable. We have all the images and will be able to
provide you with any image, including one that is pre-rooted. What was your system version prior to
the crash?
That sucks brother.I did this too a little while back and I was able to restore with my ghetto fabbed cable. I used this tool for me to recover.

CoB_Mike,
I prefer the raw fresh Factory images directly from Amazon, this guarantees a trouble free restore.
Although I do have to say, onemeila is a solid developer who knows his stuff. We are in the process
of developing several fresh images that can be used in restoration. We will post our utility in about
24 hours.

STOP PRESS - my cable just arrived!
Thanks as always
Bloody thing wont power up now!
Left the kindle for 2 days now plugged it in and left for 20mins with the power button glowing Orange but it wont power on at all.
Has it passed away?
Should I be using the factory cable to charge it at this point? I'm sure its charging as the orange light is on.....
Cheers

Is it charging via PC or wall? Mine had the issue originally and I had to do the hard shutdown several times before it would show a boot screen.

Hey, guys! So I recently got myself the nexus 7 and downloaded a file manager off the market and was having a look seeing what folders I could delete as I didn't need them. Well, long story short I think I deleted something I shouldn't have because now I'm suffering random crashes and reboots with a fair bit of lag too! Most notably while in the android market clicking on apps, the animation after a selection is very choppy. Also get random popups saying "...Google services framework has stopped working"
My nexus is not rooted and is running Google's latest greatest jelly bean.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nobody has any suggestions? OK. Store return/exchange it is then. Cheers!
Try a reset. Although TBH I can't believe you could cause this while not rooted just by deleting stuff.

No need to do that! Just head here and grab an official nexus 7 recovery image and follow the instuctions to flash it. That is the beauty of nexus devices. If you can get to bootloader (which you can) you can pretty much fix every software problem officially. If you don't feel confident doing it on your own, head over here and download the toolkit. Then you can use it to install required drivers on your computer and automate the recovery image download and flashing process.
Hopefully you haven't gone to the store already

Tried that so many times today I've lost count. Done the cache wipe and everything. But believe it, everything was fine until I started messing with the file manager. Only deleted folders from the storage part but not the system section so I can't quite understand why or how. Cheers anyway.

All that would be cool if I had a PC haha otherwise I would be rooted and doing just what you suggested. I've already spoken to the store I got it from but they don't have any nexus 7s in right now so I'm stuck.
Is there anything I CAN do without a PC other than resetting and or restoring?

Sorry to be a pain but is there any chance someone could look at these screenshots and see if they look like they should? One is of the normal storage section of the file manager and the other is of the system folders/files. Both screenies were taken after a complete reboot and restore back to default. Cheers, guys.
A quick explanation of my stupidity, I unlock and load customer iOS builds on iPhones all the time. I decided to take on the task of loading a customer rom on my Nexus 4 for the first time thinking, "how much harder can it be!". I wanted to put Xylon onto my device. After getting into restore mode and wiping doing the factory reset command, the phone shut off. It will not turn on at all. I've tried hard resetting the device and get nothing. When plugged into my computer, I can see it recognizes it as a driverless Qualcomm USB device so I know the phone is on, it just shows absolutely nothing on screen. How can I get this back up and running? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Boot into bootloader and see if you can get fastboot to connect. If you can, it's fixable. Just flash the stock images until you work up the nerve to try again.

You managed to brick your Nexus. Did you fastboot flash the wrong IMG to the bootloader or what? Tell us what you did so no one else does it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm sorry for your loss.
I'd recommend letting it charge for a few hours, then try fastboot again.

Everything was going smoothly. Got to the customer loader which is where I did the factory reset and then went to select the image I wanted and realized I didn't put it in the phones directory. I went to the menu and hit "restart" and that was the last breath of my Nexus
Did you by chance flash xylon for nexus 7 by mistake as I believe that will brick your nexus 4 faster than crap thru a goose.

I don't think there is any way for them to check if it doesn't turn on. There have been a few others who have done the same thing and gotten an RMA form Google with no problems. I did it with an Incredible from Verizon about 2 years ago with no problems after bricking it trying to unlock the bootloader.
Just wanted to post a reply to my incident. Google replaced the device and there was no charge. Thank you all for your help
I just rooted my new kindle that I just got today using the bin4ry method and I have the superuser app. Cool, but I have no clue where to go from here. No idea what a custom rom is or why I would even need one or any of that stuff.
Is there a starter package or some sort for first time kindle users?
The system version is 7.4.6

What I did for my mom's KFHD was root it, disable the OTA, and install APEX launcher.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/05/01/custom-roms-for-android-explained-and-why-you-want-them/ This explains custom ROMs.
Personally, I didn't install a second recovery or a custom ROM on my mom's KFHD because 1) It's not mine 2) I don't have a factory cable 3) She doesn't live with me so I won't get much troubleshooting time if something goes wrong.
She really hated the carousel feature of the stock kindle.
I used Kindle Fire First Aide, found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096888 ----- ((actually I used an older version from before June))

Got another question. I'm currently reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271909 and I got to the point where I'm using fireflash. I see the red lettered warning. Do I put a checkmark in the "flash kfhd7-u-boot-prod-7.2.3.bin"? and the "apply stack override" boxes?
Yes u must check that flash 7.2.3 or you will get a red screen brick and need a fastboot cable to fix.

Bad news.
I used fireflash (checked both boxes before installing the flash), but now my kindle always boots into the twrp menu and it won't let me install zip files. I keep getting a assert failed message. Is this something I can fix on my own, or do I need a special cable to fix it or is it screwed? I can get into fastboot (assuming it's the black screen with the fastboot text in the middle)

I don't know enough to answer your questions with me being new to this also; however, being able to still get to fastboot is good and that you can use KFFA to put an older version 7.2.3 back onto you KFHD and then retry.

Yes, 7.2.3 is safe to use. If you are unsure, update to 7.2.3 and wait a while and Amazon will update your KFHD to 7.4.6, and then retry. I also believe I read somewhere on the forum that 7.2.3 is better to use.

The Phone will not come on period. Only when I plug it in to the usb on the computer does screen light come on but that's it. Nothing else. You just know it's on because there is a change in the back light from really dark to just somewhat dark.

I installed Rom Toolbox pro just paid for it too. Made a back up using twrp deleted my old back up tried one final time to install the new cyanongenmod nightly that didn't work so I rebooted the back I had just made and my died. I should also mention that I had just gotten my IMEI unlocked if that makes a difference.

If you can see from the images below what I am talking about! One is in a deep black state which fully off and the other is a little brighter with the USB hooked up to the pc.

Firstly you shouldn't really triple post, secondly have you tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
Okay So I unlocked bootloader via NRT..
So after unlocking I got into recovery and earsed the data(as mentioned in the instructions)..
Now basically the tablet doesn't boot up to home.
First. Dont use toolkits. No disrespect to the dev but it is way better to do it manually.
Second which recovery did you use?
Third what exactly did you wipe?

You can re install the rom by going to https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantaraykot49h and picking the image you need.
Just hold the power button and the both volume buttons down at the same time to get into the fastboot mode before you run the image restore
program. I hope this helps. Good Luck
Make sure you go down to the Factory Images "mantaray" for Nexus 10.

You download the file from Google and unzip the *.tgz into a folder on the computer, then you run the flash-all.bat from the folder you unzipped the file in.

Good advice but for a noob needs a bit more about being in command line with the adb and fastboot commands in path. I use Linux desktop. I bricked a n7 last week due to a dodgy connector socket/cable during a flash and had to type the flash-all script commands myself a few times til it worked.

On my bricked N7 I pulled cable reinserted and retried. Keep retrying each command in the script. Worked eventually for me.

Will give it a few last trys.
Last option,I'll send my nexus 10 with my uncle back to USA.
Will they charge to fix it?
Hi,
You may want to seek for the guide in the Nexus 10 Q&A regarding flashing stock again.
Can you please go a little further in details about how "bricked" it actually is? What exactly happened? There seem to be missing some important info regarding your issue.
Please be a little more descriptive and maybe I can help you .
