FYI, it was stock before JB update.

and I ran the same Kies update on a P5113 that had cf-root stuff on it, it worked fine (it left the root kit disabled)
lots of jellybean niceness. little things like dragging shortcuts between home screens is much easier now
Where do I go to get into Kies? I see the Kies via Wi-Fi.

First you need to install Kies on your computer. You can download Kies here.
Then you simply plug in your Tab 2 to the computer using USB cable and open Kies on that computer. Sit back and enjoy the update installation.
Is this the Cellular South one?
Edit: nvm, looks like Wi-Fi.
I've attempted to update via wifi and it boot to recovery menu and gives error.
i'm attempting to use kies but for some reason, kies takes a while to detect my pt5113. any chances that something wrong on my end?

Have you tried connecting through the USB cable without debugging mode?

Upgraded and now everytime I connect via USB Mass Storage the MotoConnect would prompt me for installation even tho I installed it after its first prompt. Out of the box with 2.1 it only prompted me once and never showed up again after I installed it.
Anyone have a fix for this?

If it were my situation I would deleted Moto drivers them reload them again, kind of a pain, but not to bad. I did it myself today.
It seem that some PC's can't see the DroidX in the device manager so a reinstall of the drivers did help me.
Hope it helps
TRY THIS FIRST!!!! switch usb ports.

by any chance you had rooted your phone?
i guess you tried the usual way to update (about phone)?
I had this too, on my UK note but with Germany ROM, had anyone managed to update to it to see any differences?

I'm not seeing any update. Any idea what this is?
You can download the firmware using the PC version of Check Fus and flash with Odin.
If you want the latest stock Ice Cream Sandwich firmware update for the United Kingdom, which is N7000XXLRK 4.0.4, head over to SamFirmware (http://www.samfirmware.com/) and download it.
Use PC ODIN to flash the stock firmware you have downloaded from SamFirmware.
I hope this helps.
Hi, I just got a new laptop (Lenovo Yoga 13) and flashed a new ROM on my GS4 a few weeks back. PC is on Windows 8.1 and GS4 is on Google Play Edition Port 4.2.2 by b-dub25.
I'm trying to have my GS4 show up as a disk (MTP/UMS, whichever works). When I plug in my GS4, nothing happens on my PC, or it will say "installing", and then nothing happens. If I go to Control Panel >Devices and Printers, it shows up as "SAMSUNG_ANDROID". The phone does the usual "Connected as a media device" deal. However, when I plug in my device to my fiancee's laptop (Windows 7), it boots up just fine. And when I plug in her phone (Stock GSIII), then it pops up like it should. I have no idea what to do.
I have already tried
installing the drivers over and over, both regular KIES and KIES
"Update Driver" from control Panel
Change to PTP
Rebooting PC and GS4
Going through the Samsung Troubleshooting
Here is what I see in Device Manager:

I thank anyone who can help in advance. And yes, I did search before this. I've been trying to fix this for 2-3 days now.
Google play edition ROM 4.2.2 has a mounting problem where it won't show up on your computer (from what I remember ) flash a different ROM and see if that works.

I've tried multiple builds of the Motorola drivers, they install but when I plug in my device is says that the drivers were not successfully installed. Does anyone now of a fix for this? I'm on a windows 7 laptop
Try using a USB 2 port and the cable that came with the phone.

Hmm, try going into device manager and uninstalling the drivers that are there and plug the phone back in and try to get it to auto install. If you use fastboot and recovery much, you also need to boot into each one of those and plug the phone into the computer so the appropriate driver will install for each of those.
Actually, one of the USB ports seemed to have installed the drivers successfully.

That probably won't install until you put it into tethering mode. However, it shouldn't affect anything as far as using fastboot or having your computer detect the phone.
During the firmware update process, I get this dialog (see below). I'm in the UK, on an unlocked SG-900F. Under About Device > Status > Device Status, it says Official.
Translation: If binaries are not registered, you can not proceed with the upgrade. Please check whether the binary file properties.

Is that the only way? I'm on a Mac, and Odin never seems to work for me ...
Perhaps I just need to wait for the OTA

Still just having no luck getting JOdin to work on a mac... Java runtime messages, yada yada.
Is it possible to flash the firmware using the Heimdall front end, or command line? I've downloaded firmware G900FXXU1BOA3_G900FOXA1BOA4_BTU.zip
jOdin apparently doesnt work on some versions of OSX because you need a certain version of java. As for heimdall the github has a few pulls that people have reported work, so you can give that a shot, just check the issues section.

Put the Rom Odin and USB drivers on a USB stick and go to a internet cafe or use a friends windows computer, problem solved.
