This look like the best factory cable out there. I resisted buying a cheap one on amazon for 2.44. I payed 13.00 for this factory cable. He said he uses the best super glue out there. My questions is that is this a Good portable factory cable and can with stand some drops in a case.
Sorry, but wrong forum.
Questions usually belong in the Q&A forum, but you may want to try the 7" Kindle Fire HD Accessories forum.

KindleFireGuy,
Skorpon is one of us, so you are supporting a friend! Yes, the Factory USB Cable is VERY
Strong. We use them out in the field with our business. We really abuse the cables and
have NEVER had a problem. On the other hand, the Chinese cable from Amazon is pure
garbage. I had a customer buy one, it took 4 weeks to arrive (Shipped from Hong Kong)
and did not work! He had to send it back before they would give him a new one, he
waited another 2 months and did not ever get the new one. Do you need help with
the restore or did you get it just in case? How do you plan to use the cable? By the
way it is borderline to place this question in this forum. When you have a question about
restoring the Kindle, place it here in the General Forum.
Though i was in q&a sorry

Do you have any other questions regarding the cable or did you get the answers you were

It puts it into fastboot mode when it's bricked.
I'd be interested.

I might be interested in one, too.
I'd buy at that price point.

I don't have my Fire yet and plan to root it before I get the update, but for that price I would definitely get one just for later insurance.

So this would need to be used with a male to male USB A cable if I'm understanding you correctly?
I'm curious...
Very kind of you to offer to do this for people.
On a related note, I am curious as to what this guy is doing over in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405052
TL;DR is that he's opening the Kindle Fire and shorting out one of the pins on the circuitboard. Risky to be sure but what I am curious about is if this is doing the same thing as as a factory cable would? Thoughts?

Right, its the easiest and cheapest option. Just a female standard A (the flat one) to a micro male. Just plug it into any standard USB cable

Yeah, thats what is sounds like he is doing. All a factory cable does is supply 5V to the 5th normally unused pin and he is just doing that by shorting to that pin on the board.

The kids f-ed up the charging port on the Fire I let them have since I got my N7. If anyone has a mother board that works I'll gladly pay a fair value for it. Post here or hit me up on pm. Thanks.

You could also try to find a bricked Kindle Fire and use it's motherboard.

Most bricked Kindles will be failed flashes of the "no more bootloader" variety, meaning problem is inside the mobo and you need some serious SMT soldering mojo to bring it back to life. That's why everyone seems to be stocking every single goddamn part EXCEPT the motherboard.
Speaking of soldering, that's probably the route you'll have to take. IIRC the microUSB port is SMT with some nice big leads, if you've done through-hole and have a steady hand you'll have no problem swapping a whole new one on there, or just soldering wires to the board.

So I hope I don't jinx it by saying so but as of right now it is charging like it should. Either my soldering skills have improved or I got lucky. New rule in the house... I'm the only one to plug and unplug the charger from now on and absolutely no one plays with it while its charging.
When my charging port got messed up, i just flashed the stock rom back and shiped it to amazon. They gladly replaced it.but im guessing your fire is not in warrenty

Where did you purchase replacement usb port, part number etc. I have one failing now, exact same cause.
Just like the title says, I'm looking for someone looking to trade a almost-two-month-old white At&t SGS3 for a NIB 16gb Nexus 4.
I realize that the N4 isn't out yet, but I wanted to get this out there already.
Serious offers only please.
Condition: Very good. I've had a screen protector on it since the day I bought it. The worse it gets is light scratching on the battery cover. (I'll try to post pictures later)
Included:
- White At&t Galaxy S3
- Micro USB cable
- Removable battery
- Original Box
- White/black UAG case
- 1 Screen protector (another one already installed)
My Very Important Caveat:
You (the buyer) send me the N4 first. Upon reception I will send the S3. (I've been screwed out of a device before).
(Order one on the Google Site and send it to me perhaps?)

I keep seeing these things go for less than $50 on Ebay, all of them stuck in recovery or at the Acer logo, etc. I'm looking at snapping one up since it's praised soy well on here.
What do you guys think?
What are my chances of unbricking it?
Some are almost new condition.
I figure for $50 or less I can always take out and sell the digitizer, LCD, battery and get most of my money back. Or I could buy one of the cracked ones and get one good one still for under $100.
Any questions I should ask the seller?
Also any good recommendations for a keyboard and case in 1?
I'm pretty experienced with the whole rooting/ flashing scene, but I don't even try developing.
Thanks in advance, though I'll hit the thanks button too.

Yep some of them can be unbricked but you'll probably need the cpuid for that... some of them could have dodgy chip issue, only a new mobo will fix those ones....
Might wanna have a good read thru the guides in my sig specially the first two - things are done quite differently on the Acer compared to other android devices.
Don't think u can go too wrong grabbing one or two of these tabs as long as you're fully aware of the pitfalls...someone was saying new mobos on eBay for 50$...u could go into Acer refurb bizzo...as far as I know there have been no other reports of hardware failure other than the chip issue

A new MB on eBay will also be anywhere from $60-80, so for the initial $50 + new MB, you'll have a pretty decent 10.1" tablet for ~$125 + 20-30 minutes of elbow grease that will run JB, ICS, or a couple of flavors of Unix. I love it because it has a grown-up USB port for an external drive (I load movies on a 2.5" SATA drive and carry it in my briefcase).

Man, wish I was in the States to pick up on some of these! Could un-brick them, then re-sell them on the Moscow Market for a couple hundred!!!!!!
The 500/501 is basically bullet-proof, unless you physically corrupt the internal memory. And that only happens in a small percentage.
The UID can be obtained via a linux environment. But with all unbricking methods, some work where others don't. And sometimes you have to have a little indepth knowledge of android and linux.
Once that's done, just a matter of finding the sweet spot.
MD
I have no knowledge to unbrick or repair one of these wonderful tablets. Had it not be that way I'd buy one without any doubt.

Just ordered the Nexus 6P.. any "known" problems/bugs I should look out for?
I just ordered the 6P as I will move from my shamu to angler.
Any problems/bugs that could occur out-of-the-boy which I should be aware of?
Thanks !
Please don't take this the wrong way but scrolling down the very forum category you asked this question in has a dozen different threads about the same problem. We all seem to have different ideas of what causes the BLOD but regardless that is front and center on the list. I personally choose to stay with 6.0.1 after getting my phone replaced.

Ye I am aware of the batter issue.. although I am not sure if I can "protect" myself against it (e.g. checking build date in fastboot or so).
Anything else that I should look out for ?
Just take note of the few trips along the way. There was a version of TWRP that had problems restoring EPS. Some folks are having issues with dec updates of a few roms. Mostly just read each Rom thread and look for the common problems. It's a pretty solid community actually.

Both our 6P's have been flawless. Unlock the bootloader first thing and keep it unlocked permanently, update to the latest firmware and enjoy your new phone.
Do not go cheap on chargers/cables. When you buy something, make sure it is certified compliant with the USB-C standard. See the Accessories sub-forum and Benson Leung for more info.

You can't go wrong with Choetech brand chargers and cables. To avoid problems, buy a charger that has at least one USB-C port rated at 5V/3A like the one that comes with the 6P and use a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging. Just search on Amazon for "Choetech USB-C". My advice is just to stay away from using any charging cable with USB-A. Same goes for your car charger. Good luck.

He shouldn't unlock right away because:
1. He'll lose Android pay, access to a number of banking apps, and other apps that use safetynet, assuming that he uses those. Especially WHEN, not if, safetynet patches magisk.
2. Run the phone for a week or two before he starts modding, if he does, so he can see what's NORMAL so that he can see what's ABNORMAL.
3. Why unlock it ASAP when you get no benefit on stock, with the loss of functionality talked about in #1.
