Cyanogenmod 10.1 Updates - Galaxy Note II General

As you guys know cyanogenmod 10.1 gets updates every other day. and we download 150-200 mb everyday for just 5mb updates. so here where a handy program called CyanDelta comes to play. it just download 5-15 mb od data and updates cyanogenmod.
how it does this is by downloading parts that are updated only. great for slow net or caped net users

Google Wave

Is anyone here using Google Wave on your Hero?
Is it just me or does it really takes a few minutes to load? Opening each wave takes quite some time... Is there something I can do about? (I'm using unrooted Hero and oppening site with default browser).
Thanks.
I can't open it at all. It says not suported browser :/
there's a link below that "not supported browser" that offers you to continue anyway at your own peril
however, it's slow, tortures Hero, but then again, my Macbook Pro froze from Wave since it only has 2GB RAM, on my Vaio i got a 2.2GB RAM in use, of which 980 was Safari with Wave (Win7, not Vista)....so, Wave is a RAM hungry monster that makes serious laptops uncomfortable, no way is it ready for mobile browsing :?
i think Google should have waited and released it when it became Beta, not Alfa v1.0

So...it says it's not supported and that continuing is pretty much at your own risk...and people are wondering why it's not working? Just making sure I'm clear...

Yes. I know it sounds funny.
But Hero (or better yet, mobile devices) uses a 'mobile' version of site that should be at least semi-usable.
Did anyone test it on Opera Mobile or other browser?
It's fairly usable for me once everything's loaded (including the Wave you wanna edit).
On my netbook I have no trouble, and it has 1GB of RAM, so to the guy on a laptop something else is obviously wrong.
Google Wave is... a disappointment
Also, I really doubt it'll run on Hero unless theres a specific app for it.
i used for a little while Dolphin Browser..it's a great app..with tabs and favorite sites and many other features..you should try it...i was using the browser for reading newspapers and other stuff... but now i installed a RSS reader...

i think it depends on the size/amount of active waves....i had 2 imported ones that were huge, 200 people each, god knows how many blips....killing those did settle the problem, but it still says Alfa is not something you should release to "general public" :/
I bet there will be a google wave app for android

Elocuty A7 New Firmware posted 1-15-11

Stream TV has posted a new firmware.
http://elocitynow.com/support_downloads.shtml
Thanks for info...
Downloaded and loading now. I will report my experience with the new firmware in a while.
For anyone who has not upgraded, please let me know what the build number was on the old firmware. Nothing cosmetic, seems a little slower than the Dexter mod I was running, may have to revert back to that until something substantial occurs with the firmware. There is a new kernel if the previous one in Dexter's mod was based on the December 24th release.
I'm curious about the date of the release not changing although the description of what has changed is at the top of the page.
I just checked, it still says Dec. 24, 2010. I'm not seeing the 1/15/2011 update listed on their firmware page.
The same here ...is the file the new one or the one from December?...what is suppose to be a new build number?
It hard to say because the filename is update.zip. It would be useful if they changed the naming convention to something friendlier. Let us rename the file to update.zip. Anyway that would be a recommendation. Name the file by the release date.
It is the new firmware on the website.
Date is incorrect.
I installed but ido not see any difference...
The update is a new update. Below is the build number of the December update and the current one.
December - PBJ8000.2.0121
January 14/15 I guess depending on where you are - PBJ8000.2.0124
No visual changes, all under the hood. Ad-hoc works without modification I did notice that. I'll keep it installed since I have added the marked to it.
Still does not report external storage correctly.
Still looking for Cifs and some 3g usb dongle support. That would round it out for me.

And you expected something different?
Unfortunately they can't include the Market or the google app as Google won't allow them. There is nothing they can do until Google changes the rules or releases a version of Android approved for tablets. This is the case with just about all the Android tablets currently on the Market.
I'm waiting for a ROM that includes the Market and Google Apps to be cooked up by the Devs here before I to the update.

Yeah if you don't understand that stream tv won't be releasing a firmware with market at least on froyo, I don't think you get it. Wait for Dexter of another dev to cook up a rom or learn how to get market on there yourself. before you start calling the updates a POS.
That said has anyone noticed any real changes? So far the only difference for me is that swype FCs on me now.

Maybe because of the WIFI fixes...but I am seeing much improved battery life... Before I would get about 4-5 hours... now last two days..about 6-7 hours..maybe a fluke.. but I will see over the next few days..

I will just understand...
Is Google deny Market at any tablets with OS Android 2.2 only?
I heard Viewsonic Viewpad 7 has Google Market
Why eLocity has not?

Froyo was not designed for tablets. The only tablet, 7 inches or bigger, that comes with official market support is the galaxy tab. Well that I'm aware of being available anyway. Google is currently only approving market for phones on 2.2 and the only reason the galaxy tab got approval is a convoluted definition as a phone. or more likely in my mind some backroom dealings between samsung and google. Either way Stream TV has never promised market on the A7 and most of us jumped in knowing that. If you lost market el al by upgrading to the latest firmware that means you were previously running a mod... my guess being one of dexters since I'm not aware of any others.
It seems you were not aware that the mod you were running was not an official firmware from Stream TV and is not supported by them.

That's to be expected. You should be able to add them back pretty easy. How did you put them on there in the first place - via ElocityMod or Manually?
Billy
Can you tell me how to put the Market on my A7? I just got one and installed teh updated firmware. Looks like if I install Dexter's mod it will be going backwards on my firmware.

No, Dexter's V1.1 is based on the latest (1/15/11) firmware. If you install that you get the latest firmware plus the Market and Gapps.

February apps

Anyone know where our free apps for this month are?
LG has never stated there will be new apps every month. Rather, there will be 10 new apps added every 60 days...so check back in March...
Ah, my mistake, I thought it was every month.
However, what I am more worried about the the updates to currently released apps...most are a few versions behind their regular Marketplace counterparts...
EDIT: It seems 4 new apps were added to LG apps store...nothing to get too excited over, but they are free, and you might find use for them...

Only 728 mb ram ?

Android manager apps says this device has max of 728 mb ram , will 3.1 honeycomb update gona use full 1 gm ram like 2.2 froyo did with phones ?

remember its 1GB shared memory.. rest if for OS and graphic (video) memory.
Why don't they just go ahead and make a stinking tablet with 4gb of ram. I'd pay an extra $150 for it, especially considering the multitasking power it'd have.
The answer to that is simple but long...
I'll give you one guess....
PS: I'd pay extra for too

They WILL.. it's just this way you buy a $500 tablet, and next year or 18 months you buy another $600 tablet with 2 or 4 G ram.
Better* for them then selling one $700 tablet now and nothing for another 2 years or so..
(* better from their point of vies)
I think current honeycomb OS only support 1GB ram. My running apps only occupied max 400+ MB. I think extra ram is not necessary.

yes hopefully when vizio comes to the market it forces other companies to lower prices mwhahahahaha
What on Earth would you use more than 1GB of RAM for on these tablets?
I'm loving the amount of memory - coming from the Advent Vega on Honeycomb (a whopping 380ish megabyte available there) 1GB feels positively cavernous.
I don't know that you'd notice a difference between 1GB and 4GB, certainly.
Well, the A500 only has about 480 of the 1G available for you to use anyway, based on mine after startup (and i only have a clock and weather widget running).
By the way - I also feel there's WAY too much auto starting on the A500 - it seems like, after about 2 mins, there's some two dozen things running!!.
Given that Iconia has a usb port and we can connect a keyboard.. Well, if kernel source is released we can make it run a full-blown desktop distro like ubuntu and it'll be one of the lightest and long-living netbooks..
RAM never hurts. Some guys are using ubuntu on Toshiba AC100. Tegra2 itself seems to outperform intel atom in computing tasks like archiving/compression but 512 Mb ram they have there makes using modern apps like chromium painful and nearly impossible without heavy swapping.

You got me soooo wrongly.. Take a look - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1091081. I have done that a month ago. Now I want to run GNU/Linux with X11 natively, without android since that will allow me to enjoy opengl acceleration, alsa and other cool stuff. And obviously it makes no sense to start working without kernel source

i think atrix got your tegra2 GL driver already, just look at the Motorola website for the source for the driver. Maybe it can be ported to other tegra2 platforms..
they use it in combination with the dual display function for mobile display + lcd display output (i seen it 99% working on folio100)

I agree! So root it and take care of that - my a500 is on fire ever since I got rid of some of the stock crapware that ships with it - thanks to the modded version of Ginerbreak posted in the dev section it literally takes less then 5 mins to permaroot (at least till you OTA update) to get rid of some of that factory installed bloat.

Except you can;t get rid of it - you have to rename it (and rename it back before an update, else you have a $500 brick) which means it's STILL on the tablet.
OK, it might not be running, but it's still there wasting space (like all those crap facebook/twitter things! And the stupid demo games).
Then, all you have to do is forget to name them back, just one small forgetful episode.. brick time!
Unless you just make a custom rom without the bloatware and with a custom recovery.
Custom roms don't get OTA updates (well you disable them) and I'm not expecting an update in the near future so in the meantime I'm waiting with my crapfree rom and waiting for Icecream sandwich if it ever comes for A500.
Besides I can always cook another rom if new versions show up.

Nah. No where as complicated as that. I use a app called "root toolbox" - pretty similar to titanium backup. It will automatically remove any system apk and back it up for you - if you want to be safe you can just keep
a backup of any removed apk's on a USB stick or somewhere off your droid - i rooted and removed a bunch of system apps before I noticed I could apply a OTA update.
Simply restored my default apk's, ran ota upgrade, ran gingerbreak again to regain root - removed annoying system software again. Very little risk of bricking your device unless you really do something silly - and now that we know thanks to xda how to wipe all data and factory restore - it's a pretty low risk process.

Waypedia Review - How I increased my app's downloads

Hello Fellow developers, I hope you're all doing well
I had like 7 apps in google play but only 2 of them were getting organic downlaods,
the other apps they didnt have much downloads, because of the competition in the market, I had to figure out a way to increase my downloads for the other apps so I tried facebook ads to promote my apps it didn't work and it was too damn expensive.
I came across a beautiful website for buying Real 100% legit downloads for my apps, and it's so cheaper than the others!
US installs cost only $0.14 per install. and worldwide installs cost $0.12 per install.
I bought 1000 downloads for 3 apps of mine and they all ranked top 30 for my keywords, Now I am getting organic downloads everyday and making more money with Admob.
I wanted to share my experience with you here in this forum
The website where I bought the downloads from is : waypedia.com
you can Use this code: IRTK5 when you register and you will get 10% more funds in your first deposit.
