4.1.2 official - French vs Poland rom - Galaxy Note II General

So, to start off..
I think that Poland rom is bit more sharper and faster than french version.. I think that, in poland rom, I didnt have that pinch to zoom lag when zooming in pictures... I think it was more lag free (poland rom)..
What is your opinion/experience?
Thanks in advance

Had the same issue on Poland version ... for few days. .. now it isn't there. .I think it takes time for cache build up
scribbled from my note 2 (N7100)

My French phone seems fast as ever & I'm enjoying finding new features like pop-out browser. That's new ... haven't detected other changes.

both are really fast but I found youtube and pinch to zoom issues on both roms I think its on every 4.1.2 note 2 rom..

For me French version is much faster.
No lag after full wipe.

I've tried both roms, and I've restored my LJ3 nandroid , cause none of the new 4.1.2 roms are as smooth as LJ3. Not sure if I'm the only one that thinks this, I tried only odexed versions not any custom ones. And am only on stock Odexed LJ3 too.
Weird.

Can you please make screencast of your pinch to zoom ?
Thanks for your replies ! I was thinking of reverting to Poland rom to see if pinch to zoom lag is there, but now i see that all of you are saying that it is present in Poland rom also..
And toggles lagg where there are more than 3 notifications hanging.. Thats irritating too...

If there was no lag (no smooth) when changing homescreens with only few widgets i'd say it is proper official 2.3.4 release...
However, homescreens are respectively smooth with live wallpaper enabled...
Whats your opinion? Do you confirm that lag?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Are you saying there's a lag on homescreens? If so do you have the stock task manager widget there? If you do get rid of it and if you still have lag, sorry mate. At least for me and a lot of others kh3 is great at least, not perfect
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Thats what ive got in only 2 homescreens... The lag appears when i go to first homescreen from right to left..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
What ROM did you come from? I remember people saying that you need to do a full wipe and reflash and the lag will go away. I'm on stock KH3 with CF-ROOT kernel and I have no homescreen lag.
KE7 stock ----> KG5 stock -----> HK3 speedmod kernel.
Lag appeared after i installed HK3... Also something i noticed is there is no lag after i clean up the memory from the task manager but i see it coming again after i open a couple of applications. Finally theres no lag if i use live wallpaper..

Somewhat off topic here: is the browser from the latest firmwares still incapable of re-flowing text properly with pinch to zoom?

I mean if pinching to zoom has the same effect as double tapping in a webpage, the text in the webpage should adapt to the level of zoom, so as not to be cut off from the screen. Opera Mobile does this very well, I was wondering if the stock browser in newer firmwares does it as well (the older versions didn't).

That's what i will do but not now..Tommorow for sure!! Thanks a lot tho
I just flashed this ROM and found out I can't install any apps.. it just crashes and reboots and the apps are not installed..
Did you wipe data, cache and Dalvik (dalvik is under Advanced in CWM)? Did you restore system settings with Titanium Backup?
I had enough of this so im back to stock kf3 with speedmod kernel and everything looks smooth and stable..

I updated the LA1. I don't see any difference other than WIPING. I was from KL8.
I interesting thing I noticed was "Back" is not working when I was in "Applications". I am the only one?
I see a lot of fine improvements in the ui:
Lock screen, contact list, Swype update...
I can't help: I like it!
It is hard to estimate speed and battery improvement, but at least it is not worse.
Thanks for posting the ROM!

I am wondering why I never get updates although from what I've read, others got 2 OTA's? anyway, is there any problems with flashing the above firmware to my phone using Odin except than losing root?
An additional question, which country is my phone from? CSC and PDA seems inconsistent to me :/
PDA:KK9 / PHONE:KK5 / CSC: KK2 (DAM)

Brand New OTA (4.0.4) rolling out as of today. S Cloud and more incoming

Starting in Germany today Android Central are reporting a brand new update for the International Galaxy Note. It's still based on Android 4.0.4, so don't get get too excited just yet. This brings along popup play, the brand new S Cloud contact backup, home screen improvements, a new lock screen, general UI overhauls and the new 3D gallery app found on the Note 2.
These are said to name 'but a few' of the changes. Until we get some hands on time and start to build a bit change log w e can't be sure. Post up in the thread if you get your hands on it and we can start to sift through it.
On the surface there's nothing I'm massively excited about being a Nova Launcher user, and a QuickPic fan. The popup play could be nice though. Anyway, the crux of the update is this. We're getting Galaxy S III features and Note 2 apps/features before it even launched. This should hopefully be the unofficial handshake we've been hankering after. Android Central believe the Note is now shown as VERY likely to get Jelly Bean from the guys at Samsung and I happen to agree. S Cloud on the Note before it even debuts on the first model to feature it off the shelf? That's hugely encouraging that the Note 2 won't make the Note end of life anywhere near soon.
http://www.androidcentral.com/software-update-brings-s3-and-note-2-features-original-galaxy-note
Change Log (Known)
- TouchWiz 5 (credit to EmuX)
- 3D gallery from Note 2
- Popup play
- Revised lock screen(?) - Allows ability to swipe straight to camera in landscape mode (new?)
- S Cloud contact back up
- Galaxy S III's Direct call (credit to antique_sonic)
WARNING!
Altae reports the following:
Don't try to flash this using mobile odin! You will almost certainly end up with your Note stuck in a boot loop! Use pc odin! During the flashing process you will loose root access! Use Dr. Ketan's guide to restore root access.

Never see any new lock screen. Only know it can customize to open camera direct when you swipe (in lockscreen), with a phone in horizontal position.

I'm currently using an unlocked United Kingdom Note with the Indian 4.04 Rom that I flashed via Odin (screenshot attached) I'm not rooted. Would I be ok downloading this and flashing via Odin just as I did with the Indian Rom? I assume I'll still get English on the device as the Rom I believe is Italian

I tried 4 different new JB ROms and ..

ANdroid revolution , Omega 27 , Foxhound , Build 3 AOKP ...
They are all a bit laggy and stuttery esp in the appdrawer ..
all preceded by full wipes .. is that normal ?
the stock ICS is perfectly smooth ..
so much for Butter project ..
You should try wanamlite v3.7
It's jb, and running smoothly and butterly

Closed, again, this should be discussed in the general sticky. It is for everything JB related but actual releases, or stuff relating to specific custom rom.

Irritating UI issue! HELP

The nav bar at the bottom overlaps half of the dock of next launcher which makes the dock completely unusable and ugly.. the same problem persist in 50% of the other apps notably go sms, quick pic, go launchers and many others.. I have tried the milestone releases and a few latest nightlies but its still not fixed..
Its hard to believe there are many discussions of issues about pac rom going on but I didn't find this preety obvious and significant one anywhere..
I have waited like 3 months since I started with pac, updated about 5 nightlies hoping it will be fixed but no luck everytime..
This one is a serious one.. It has forced me not to use some of my fav apps and use pie navigation at times..
No problem with all the minor bugs but this one is frustrating..
Check out the screenshot below..
ANY IDEA GUYS??
