Anyone come from tf700 with cleanrom and clemsey kernel - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if anyone can provide input on how smoother nexus 10 is compared to tf700 with cleanrom and clemsey OC kernel in regards to games. I love gaming on the nexus but rely on tf700 a lot for typing etc with the kb dock. But I dont want to have 2 devices so I'm hoping putting cleanrom with clemseys kernel will be comparable in game performance with the nexus 10. But if its not going to help then I'll have to settle keeping the n10 and just get a bluetooth kb.

some questions before my purchase of a nexus 7

I am excited to buy my Nexus 7 but i have a few questions before i unload the cash. First of all, i was wondering if i could use a OTG cable to connect the charger, a keyboard and a usb drive. Is this possible or am i better off getting this Asus Transformer (http://usa.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300T/) Also, is it possible to use a bluetooth keyboard instead and still use a usb without it being plugged in? Lastly, is it really large enough for typing essays, etc or is it a bad idea, Thanks for the answer
I would suggest you to go with the transformer rather than the nexus, because depending on your needs transformer suits you the best

[Q] NOVA 3 on Nexus 7 working better now?

Anyone out there have NOVA 3 on their tablet and is it working better now? Is it playable? Is it enjoyable? Worth buying? Thanks!
I tried it a while back... still laggy as crap.

It's my understanding that Gameloft games are not optimized for our devices with multi-core processors.. I play it from time to time..isn't too bad..but should be better. Gameloft is a more apple-biased company with much less support for android.

I have in and with a different kernel and an overclocked GPU, of ran pretty good but still not as good as the iPad or Samsung tablets. I've heard its because the tegra GPU doesn't have as much raw power as the others, and it was developed for the iPad first so its just a really bad port to the nexus 7

performance on this thing...is it any good ?

How is the multi-tasking etc ? gaming ?
And seriously is 1gb of ram good enough ?
I find it great at both of those even better if you flash a custom kernel but stock is still amazing at both, this is definitely the best 7 inch tablet you can get but if your looking for a big 10 inch takes and have money to spend I'd try the Nexus 10 as it also looks very promising

Is there really a need for another post/thread like this? Use the search button its what it is there for.
From my Nexus 7
This is the best tablet on 7inch display multi tasking is no trouble and being able to swap back and forth from app to app in a flash is great. Performance all round is smooth and very pleasing. Games run quick and the size of the tablet makes playing all games so much easier. If u are thinking of buying one dnt think just do it. this thing holds no disappointment to anything it dose.

Just don't update ota to 4.2.1, lots of performance problems as reported here on the forum.

Try using a Tegra 2 tablet for a day then pick up a Nexus 7. Big difference, bigger than I expected. I have a TF101 and N7 both running 1280x800 resolution so that's not a factor. It could be that the TF101 is on 4.0.1 and my N7 is on 4.2.1. It drives me crazy to use my TF101 now.
I'm running 4.2.1 OTA, bone stock (for now) and am not seeing any problems, performance or otherwise.

Does your TF300T turn on when you plug in the charger?

mine does which i think is strange. I was just curious.
Thanks,
Actually it does not.
I thought every Android device wakes up when connecting the charger. All smartphones I got my hands on did. Though this can be disabled
Not it does not turn on. You may wanna check in settings if there's something to enable/disable it (don't know whether you're using a custom rom or not)
Every Android device does unless you modify the Android. Policy. Jar. I think that's the one. However my galaxy S3 doesn't turn on running Cm10.1

Well I guess since I cant unlock the damn thing ill have a hard time changing that file. My phone doesn't do it but ive had a custom rom on it for so long i dont recall if the phone turned on when i plugged if in prior to rooting it. However, i dont have a custom ROM on the TF300T nor do i see a power setting so i guess id have to edit the file somehow. Seems silly to me since I'd like to keep it shut off to charge faster but as soon as i plug it in on she powers up from being completely off. Annoying.
Yes, mine does.

Same here. Kind of makes sense to me.
Still Charged Up
Yep, same here. This is the only Android device I've had that boots up fully when connecting a charger.

That's an easy hack,
You can also disable the screen on when plugged in via a .jar hack.

Care to share the hack on how to disable the screen coming on when plunging in the charger? It would be appreciated. Thx

I've only had this issue on the odd occasion, but just the other day I left it off and plugged in, went to work and it was still off when I got back.

Mine on latest 4.2.1 does!
Strange, mine did at first. But after bricking, and recovering from the brick, it no longer does. I found that out today when I plugged it in after it died. I still had to turn it on after I returned back to it an hour later.

EOS4 (4.2.2) is about as stable as custom roms go and very fast/ responsive, especially when used with Timduru's KAT kernel (Believe it or not its smoother than my tf300t in a lot of things:crying, I cant really speak for CM10.1 but my short play around with it seemed stable. EOS3(4.1) is completely stable but not being worked on anymore and missing the features of 4.2.
JoinTheRealms and I are both on the EOS 4 band wagon. I showed my EOS 3 (4.1) back in December to a friend with an Infinity (TF700) and he said mine was smoother, quicker and butterier than his running 4.1.
Heck, I like EOS 4 so much I wrote up this guide: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...ficial-faq-teameos-4-android-4-2-1-tf101.html
IMO, EOS 4 is rock solid. It has a few minor drawbacks, (SOD when full sized SD card inserted) but I am running Preview 181 and have over 200 hours of uptime on it currently. Everything I need works (Bluetooth HID, Bluetooth Tethering, WiFi, GPS, SD, microSD, headphones, etc.)
Thank you
