Lately I have noticed an unusual drain in my battery. After identifying the cause with BBS I found it to be a wakelock related to audio. I went thru my apps that could potentially cause the problem, I didn't find any.
Do you know what the problem was? It was a problem with my notifications muted.
When you select volume for the ringer / system / media etc. When you mute the 'Notifications' you will get a nasty wakelock that won't disappear until you increase the volume a bit at least.
Just thought I'd let you guys know. Also I have noticed the same wakelock when I had my I9300 S3.
Does this occur in vibrate and mute mode?

I think it does. The action that triggers the wakelock is lowering the notifications volume to minimum (muting them).
i noticed the audio out wakelock if i live the music player open :cyclops:

Hi,
I remember reading about this a while back but cant seem to be able to find it anymore.
When I get incoming calls my ringtone sounds like it is stuttering sometimes. It is not happening all the time just most of the time?
Has anyone heard of a the cause/solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Edit:
Just like to add that I am only using the standard "old phone" ringtone and it happens whether or not vibrate was turned on or off. (in case the vibration was making speaker terminals lose connection)
I get the same, so you are not alone.
Fish
It's due to the system WAKING UP out of the sleep mode
I have the same but it doesn't seem to cause any real problems.
Not really due to the waking up from sleep mode actually in my case.
I went to sounds and notifications and chose "old phone" ringtone and it plays a test sound when you choose it. It stuttered during this time too.
so its probably some sort of software conflict maybe???

I have to agree with this point. I never had stuttering of ringtones on my XDA Exec. I use the old phone ring tone sound.
ive found recently over the past couple of days that since i've resorted to the standard phone skin by getting rid of the "bubble" default skin, I get no skipping or stuttering on any incoming calls. Its been working fine for a couple of days now even after a few soft-resets. I suggest sum1 try it to confirm.
its a little hard to say whether the skin would have done it or not since my problem is intermittent. After a soft reset the problem goes away and then comes back once in a while.

I have GB-Soft's Tweak but I have always no idea what is this Audio Priority for? Mine is positioned at "110". What should it be?
me having stuttering ringtone too.
As i using mp3 for ringtone.
I tried lowering the bitrate & reducing the size of the mp3.
it somehow helps but i still have the stuttering once in a while.
could it be cpu speed problem?
can anyone overclock the cpu and try to see if the stuttering still exist?
With all the version of Android that I have tried, all of them seems to cause the phone to chew the battery life like hell.
I have noticed that when you tap the Home-back keys (the phone vibrates, VERY annoying) and I get a click or pop from the speaker even though sound events are disabled.
I also get the click or pop when I load an app from the desktop (does occure with other stuff too but can't remember which).
Any idea what this is?? Seems to me like the speaker is constantly biased (would explain high battery consumption) and any dip in the supply (causes by the annoying vibrate function) causes the sound. ie. the bias to the speaker fluctuates thus creating sound.
If I'm the only one with this issue, please ignore all the above.
Thanks
problem
me too i have the same broblems and the same remarque and the desqtop still on whene the phone com to slep that way he drean the battery
exuse my anglish
This is all common and discussed in other threads.
Pretty sure it's the speaker turning on/off
I purchased the Note 8.0 last week and like everything about it. However, there is one annoying issue that I have yet to resolve. I get allot of notification alerts and when watching a video or listening to music, the incoming notification temporarily pauses the video and interrupts the audio. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you resolve?

This happens with my Samsung Galaxy phone too. My workaround was to turn off most notifications. Also, I use a sound profile app to turn off the notification sounds during the work day, and I don't notice that the muted notifications affect anything I am listening to. I don't know how else to "fix" it, but perhaps someone else will have a good idea.

Have you given the blocking mode a try, it has an option to supress notifications as well as calls and stuff.

I did try the blocking mode, but it bugs me that there's an icon showing that the blocking mode is on. I haven't found a way to turn that off. (Dang, I'm picky.)

Well as Lemmy once said/sang : You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
Hey all
I had a look and couldn't find this issue described
The problem occurs when listening to music (Google play) with wired headphones.
Sometimes the volume sounds low, and when the phone is unlocked it jumps up.
This also sometimes happens just by swiping down from the top, if the phone is already unlocked.
I suppose some action brings the volume down but it's harder to tell when that happens, compared to the jump up in volume.
I thought it might be the AudioFX so disabled that, had no effect.
As far as I can tell it doesn't seem to happen when using Bluetooth audio.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks!
Uri
I had this problem but i solved it
Setting-> Lock Screen-> disable display music visualizer
also keep disabled AudioFX and clear data of it

Nice one, thanks - will give it a try!
Tried the fixes but still the same issue. Pulling down the notification bar at the top raises the volume. Really odd and annoying!
I'll keep hacking on it.

Hmm. Still getting this.
Really annoying, and I can't seem to find an android / google play bug on it, although I have tried various (quite long) search strings.
Are there any other Zuk Z1 users out there who could test this please? Would be interesting to see if anyone else is having these problems after going through the steps that worked for Ashay.
Thanks!
Uri
yeah..I am also facing the same problem with the volume in Lenovo Zuk Z1
Please help me with solving this issue.
volume goes down

I m also experience same problem. When I disable display music virtualization my volume seems to remain down and not increase even on device unlock. If anyone could solve my problem then it would be a great help.
I am also getting same issue. same works for other apps too like soptify and soundcloud. volume jumps when notification panel is pulled or while unlocking device.
This is happening to me too, anybody knows how to fix this?
Hi guys, I had the same problem and I find it.
360 upmix feature is, you can switch it off or if you want to keep it on like me, then select you preferred method away from "auto".
Is it because for example on YouTube when it is unlocked it is cinema mode, but if you lock it you don't looking at it so goes to music mode, that's why switching back and forth.
I prefer cinema as a little more bass on it.
Have a nice day guys!
Edit: My phone is an Xperia 1 III.
Does anybody face this bug" notification sound automatically go into the vibration mode, restart to get everything back to normal"??i tried cear partition cache but didn't help this method..help plz
I also have the same issue. In my case, notification sound or ring comes from earpiece speaker instead of main speaker so it's too low to be heard. Not sure about the root cause. Reboot definitely helps but quick way to fix it is to call any number(like 111) and hang up after putting it on speaker. Is anyone else facing the same issue?
I can confirm that notification/call ringtone goes silent automatically in v323 also. DND is not activated and no power saving module/mod is enabled. This is an annoying bug and frequently causes me to miss important calls and notifications
Same here.
I solved my problem this way..i dont know if it will work for you friends..
Step 1 download the zedge app from playstore
Step 2 download the htc reactive notification tone
Step 3 set it via phone setting but select zedge app
I dont have the call ringtone problem i set "RING 1"
check it guys ..and tell me if it is working or not?
Thanks. sorry for bad english!

Didn't work for me. Do you guys have any smartwatch connected via Bluetooth? I do and may be it is the root cause of this issue?
I think this issue definitely has something to do with Samsung gear S3. Whenever I turn off and back on the Bluetooth, issue appears to be gone for few hours.
Guys i think the new 326 update fixed this issue..whats say?
I still have this issue but it's not so frequent now. It comes back in 2-3 days after reboot.
Issue is there. Randomly no notification. 326

I experience it too. But in my case, I don't have to restart the phone, only turn it back to ring mode works to fix it although only temporarily.
It happens randomly, if I'm not using my phone for about 15 minutes, not always happen but randomly, occasionally happen.
I don't have any smartwatch apps or alike installed, but I'll check for other apps that might causing it.
I wish whether it's a bug from Asus or mistake from my side, it can be fixed somehow, because it's annoying.
Still looking for the solution.
=========
UPDATE: SOLVED (A long ago actually, sorry I just write this now)
An app caused it. It has to do with timer and notification sound triggering at some preset times a day.
After I uninstall the app, all is OK.
Hey guys, I am too facing the issue. But root cause seems to be this.. When I open any app that gives some audio output, n I immediately try to reduce the volume. Somehow the ringer volume also goes down along with media. N after this whenever I press the volume rocker, it doesn't work on ringer volume but on media volume. Once I restart it works fine but same thing repeats if I do what I mentioned.
Hi guys anyone experience after the update or Android become Android 8.0 my phone do not have signal anymore
