iPhone headset volume control

I have a pair of Sony headphones that have a controller designed to work with an iPhone/iPod. The middle (play/pause/forward/backward/end call button) work just like the original Nexus one headset, but the volume controls don't work. Is there a possibility of making an app, modified Music.apk or driver that would enable this volume control, or does one already exist? I've searched these forums, Google's forums and some other forums and found nothing.
There's an app called RemoteVol that allows you to adjust volume by long pressing on the previous track and next track buttons. It was designed for the default N1 headset, though I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with third party headsets.
I'm guessing that HTC didn't think to include volume controls in the headset design, perhaps because there's already the volume rocker on the side of the phone.

I tried that, the download link was dead and it wasn't on the market.

works well with my htc headset
I'd like to point out that the Nexus One headphones don't control volume.
Continuing on, as you said, the volume buttons do nothing (on other pair remotes I have)
Remote Vol doesn't work in this case- I'm using Sony headphones using the Apple button control design.
I guess your only option then is to use the stock headset that came with the phone, or just use the volume rocker.
If you or someone you know is handy with a soldering iron, you can perform a simple mod to the stock headset so that you can plug in third party headphones. You just have to cut off the stock ear buds above the remote, then solder the wires into a 3.5mm audio jack.

Joying JY-UMS03N2 volume

I have a rooted unit, and i bought a usb remote control. When i use it to lower the volume, the joying will turn the volume back up on its own. Is there a way to fix this? Please help. Its frustrating with the side buttons on the tab.

Need help rooting headunit. (1din pop out display)

This thing has no home button and I can't figure out how to get this to recovery mode.
Does anyone have experience with this headunit?

I want to change the volume knob click function to the home button. And get Amazon music to work with the front skip button controls since they currently only work with the radio and music app.also af ew other things like nav volume ratio to music when it plays over it. for some reason this head unit settings is very limited.

[Q] Fusion Control USB Powered and Controlled Rotary Volume Knob

I've got a Fusion Control USB Powered and Controlled Rotary Volume Knob.
It works on my Android board and Win7 PC but Joying doesn't seem to do anything with it. Doesn't control volume at all.
Anyone have experience with something like this?
I'm not new to Android but I am new to Android car stereos.
The terminal command lsusb shows the USB device and it gets an ID number.
So it's clearly showing up. Just not doing anything?
I've got a Joying Intel SC9853i.
All of the Android head units have a crippled Android version on them, some not so much, some quite a lot. The vendors add system apps onto it that interfere with the way Android ”typically" works.
Because I have such an Intel SC9853i myself, I can tell that this is one of the worst that I had so far in this respect.
I have the same Issue. It would be awesome to get it work as my unit has no physical buttons. the touch buttons are a joke.

I have this on my Amazon wishlist.
Hard buttons that use wiring to the steering wheel controls on the Joying.
Instead of using Bluetooth.

Problem with volume on Joying 13” Head Unit

Hey guys!
I’ve been searching a ton for an answer on this… but can’t seem to find anything. I installed my Joying 13” head unit and wired up front speakers (will do my rears another weekend). The head unit is great, except that the volume is stuck at a high setting. I use the volume up/down buttons and the volume slider changes and the numbers go up and down, but the actual volume doesn’t change. It’s like the software isn’t talking to the hardware…
Any suggestions? I’m thinking of updating firmware in case that might work… but out of the box I would think the volume would work.
Thanks all!
@opexo any ideas
