What are your opinions on the note guys?
To get it, I'd have to restock my GSII for an Iphone 4s-16gb.
$200+$35 for $600+ profit
Then buy it for $800.
So basicly, I'm spending $435 for the Note, is it worth it? I don't want to wait for the US version because it's probably going to be worse.... plus the LTE radio on it is gonna mess up the battery life. And.. we have to probably wait like another 7 months.

I wish I had a phone to sell to compensate for my cost + duty. The US one probably wont be out for 4-6 months. I think it's worth it for this amazing device!
This is almost exactly what I am doing, but instead I will get the White 32gb iPhone 4S for maximum profitability, and I'll be ordering from mobilecityonline since they're in State and $100 cheaper then most conversions I've done.
I'm going to wait. Price will drop by a couple of hundred bucks, and all the early buyers will figure out all the glitches. More roms will be developed by then, and more accessories will be available for the phone.

It is worth it.
One big caveat I had about the note was the lack of NFC, and it seems like the American variant will also lack it (according to FCC documentation), so for me there is no real reason to wait other than price fluctuation.
Form me this device is a tool for bussiness and is what i need thats the reason i have one now
Buy it! I paid more than $435

That's what I'm thinking, too, though it's very tempting...
I am just waiting to see if Sammy will release one with T-Mobile 3g/4g support.
If they add NFC to the mix, that's a big winner for me

18 days till im eligible, and it pisses me off that the newest phones are $300. That is crazy, i got family with kids, wife only works part time, i refuse to dump that kinda money. Im actually thinking dinc 2 or tbolt. Dinc 2 free, tbolt $49. I could get bigger batt, case, screen protector, and klipsch head phones and save $150. Not to mention both phones have great roms now. I could prolly get dual core in a year off ebay for $150 then, and sell the other. No way will i pay $300, im not impressed with any of those phones.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Although I completely agree with you, the prices are too damn high, I will br forking down the $300 for the Nexus come January. Why? Because it's a piece of technology I will be using everyday for the next 20 months. I'd rather spend the extra money to get the cutting edge right now rather than save the money and have to be behind the curve.
But hey, that's just me! On the converse, I've been rocking the same laptop for 4 years now because I refuse to upgrade until something substantial comes out, so I totally understand your point of view!
What i find really sh**y is that verizion only gives me a measly 35 dollars twords my upgrade. I have been a loyal paying customer for 6 years now, i pay 65 a month and have spent thousands on phones, and for being so loyal i get 35 dollars every 2 years twords a new highly overpriced phone. It just irks me, as much money as i have spent on phones and service, they should at least give me half off any phone i want.
Exactly, and the new ones just arent that far ahead, im going cheap. I been with them forever, my bill is $180 a month for 2 phones!
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
You can upgrade your phones at places other than Verizon. Amazon typically has 300 dollar phones on sale for 200 bucks right after they go on sale. They had the Rezound for a penny with new activation on B-Friday.
Not to mention, Costco had them, incl the Rezound, for $49 shortly after that. You dont need a member of Costco to get the wireless prices.
No costco here, we tried the cheap upgrade for my wife, they wouldnt do it inlesss we changes plans. We have an alltel plan
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I also agree, its getting absolutely ridiculous. So what's the next Verizon standard in a cpl years for new phones? $500-600 on contract? I sure hope not. Ok got the mini rant out lol. Well unfortunately I will be spending the 300 as well for the GN but after I check out other options I.e. best buy, amazon. I Will be keeping Verizon no matter what.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda premium
I was holding out for the Nexus, but it was just taking too long, and I couldn't see paying the $300 for it, so I snagged an Xperia Play on Black Friday for free and loaded it up with emulators...
I want something rooted with solid dev work going on, im leanin towards the inc2 as 4g just dont mean much to me. Ill see what sales are going on after christmas though.

For me, my Incredible is just fine. I'm going to wait until there are more devices out with ICS and see how that all plays out. Maybe another year or something, see what HTC puts out in that flavor. I just can't see myself getting any other phone other than HTC. I hate Motorola's UI, and not a big fan of my wife's Samsung Fascinate.
Same here i will keep my incredible till it dies. Im not even going to upgrade till something that really makes me say wow comes out. Im not a fan of the larger screens that are on all the new phones. They are hard to fit in your pocket and hard to hold. If you use a hard case it makes it even bigger. For the last 20 years we have tried to make phones smaller, now everyone wants a phone the size of a notebook, which i find crazy. As for dual core that just seems like overkill, after all it is a phone, if i want to play games i have a ps3, and if i want a pc i have 3. Larger screen + dual core = shorter battery life. And as of now lte is non existent in my area so 4g isnt a good selling point for me either. I will stick with what i got, just like the saying says, "if it aint broke, dont fix it".
I normally get pretty good deals from Verizon...I haven't paid for a phone for about 4 years!
That being said, I love my Incredible and will keep using it for some time.

I would check out best buy, wirefly, costco's online, and other places. I got a rezound for 50 on an upgrade. Might wait until Feb. because you usually see drooping prices then.

I placed my pre-order for my Galaxy Note II at MobileCityOnline already. It's the same price I paid for my GT-N7000 last October and from the same source. So far they're the only vendor I found (from my search of the web) even offering/accepting pre-orders for the Note II.
They've always been a great place to buy anything mobile. This will be my 4th phone from them and they really are incredible. You get good prices, great service, and most of all - fast & FREE shipping plus I don't get stuck with all those BS taxes that would've been added on if I bought from a nearby B&M store. I've never had a problem with them, ever.
I'm not trying to sound like a commercial and NO I don't work for them, I don't work at all, but they're the real deal. The only thing that sucks are the price drops after a few months but that's what goes with being an early adopter. After almost a year the GT-N7000 is still commanding $550 which really isn't bad, it's buying accessories that suck. I'm sticking with just the necessary items this time like just one case, screen protectors, and maybe spare battery.
If anyone finds a better deal please share and pass it on in here so we ALL can take advantage of the deal and save some cash.
Almost a grand a year on a smartphone is crazy - not including the phone and data services - is getting old FAST! I'm sticking with this 5.5", Exynos Quad-Core for a while despite getting the same GPU with it. This beast should handle anything I intend on using it for.
***Update***
I'm here now to officaially eat crow - after having been told story after story I have decided to go with Handtec simply because the good nature another member - you know who you are - I even have my FedEx tracking number. Come Tuesday I'll be smokin' on my GT-N7100 after all!
For how much will they have it?
I want one too, but I need to sell my Note 1 first.
Can't justify that to the wife.
They're asking $699 FREE shipping, NO TAXES, and your card isn't charged until it leaves MobileCityOnline's warehouse. Really at this point you can't lose since most vendors price gouge ANYONE who ever pre=orders!
Good luck selling your GT-N7000. I'm handing mine down to wife who's still stuck on an Sprint EVO 4G. Happy hunting and good luck - if you find a better deal could you please share it here
I'm no John D. Rockefeller, but, I can tell you this, if you find it less at some other vendor do your homework before you buy from anyone!

HK is releasing them very soon, and shipping very soon. already priced at 677USD
There is nothing wrong with a pre order thread.
I don't believe there is a confirmed released price yet, so it doesn't matter where you pre order from yet. All prices are subject to change.

I'm not even sure there are confirmed specs yet, lol. What is the advantage to ordering it this early?
That having been said, I don't think he's trying to sell it, he's just ordered this way in the past and hasn't regretted it, so I'm sure he won't this time.
It seems as though the AT&T version should be out fairly soon (like with the SGS 3), and the specs might actually be as good or better, so I'm gonna try to wait for the subsidized version. Especially since I can probably sell this one for as much as AT&T will be asking for the new one.

The advantage is, if you decide you want it, you'll be first in line to get one.
And of course, if you don't, you can always cancel at anytime.
It depends on a lot of things, but ordering something on release day can mean a hefty wait
while preorders get filled.

I wish one for me !!!! ♥
To those who obviously CANNOT READ -I clearly stated I DON'T WORK, I'm disabled...so I clearly am NOT - got it - NOT drumming up business for anyone in anyway. I'm simply sharing what I believe to be important money saving information. My comments are from my experiences with MobileCityOnline.
Also, FYI, last year when I pre-orded from MCO this same price was posted for my current Galaxy Note. Interestingly, 2 or 3 weeks they happened to raise the price of the GT-N7000 by almost $100. MCO did a ballsy thing, they honored the pre-ordered price. For me personally they earned my loyalty. I'll never buy an unlocked and international smartphone from anyone else!
From that point on whoever either P-O or @ the time ordered, since they received stock were stuck with the higher price PLUS had to pay for shipping. The free shipping was part of the P-O package. So to all those who ask what are the advantages of pre-ordering I say there are plenty of reasons. Your reasons may not be the same as mine but the fact remains there are definitely advantages of doing so.
Now to the morons who can't seen to get a grip with the fact I do not work for MCO in any capacity - I say if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. I'll gladly provide proof of why I am disabled in the form of pictures showing the zippers I received from the 22 surgeries that caused my situation which are personal anyway. But to shut you up is gladly do whatever out takes to back up any words that come out of my mouth.

These are SIM unlocked (can be on multiple carriers) and possibly not bootloader locked. Let the buyer beware.
In italy we are expecting 729 euro, on the 25th of september.
Of course price will go down. Same thing happened last year. Hardcore fans will be pay that price but most average buyers will wait it out. I'm waiting price will drop once released, also lack of sales figures will help drop price.
If it saves me 50-100 Then it's worth the wait.

Netherlands is set at around €711 (T-Mobile)/€699 unbranded (Studentmobiel), Germany unbranded at around €649.
The S4 (snapdragon) was €649 at launch in Germany, and is €499 today. So prices do most certainly drop over time!

Watch this space, won't be long now. Some retailers already selling it cheaper then initial price of 649 can be picked up for 609 in the uk!! Probably due to several factors primarily poor preorders, still plastic, iPhone release date and rumours of Nexus 5. Patient is most certainly a virtue pal but of course if you are smartphone junkie that doesn't mean anything,
I can't help thinking Samsung are greedier then ever before, they give you less for your money. I'm personally waiting for nexus 5 to make up my mind which to get by then hopefully price would have dropped much further.

To me, it's a toy, not food needed for nourishment or the cure for cancer.
I always bid my time and buy my toys long after the herds have settled down. I'll be getting the N3 (if i decide to get it) months and months after it's launched and for hundreds of dollars less. I can wait that long and it's worth it to me.

You're not a cheapie you've just got your priorities right. Essentials take precedence over luxuries.
Keep it up you're a dying breed in an age of consumption fuelled society.
Those who can afford to get in on it from the gate should go for it if they so wish, those who can't should wait until they can, simple as that.
There is nothing wrong with constantly buying "the next big thing" if you can afford it and nothing wrong with waiting if you can't.
