I've noticed this strange thing after a reboot, the display usage is now inverted, as in if the display has been off for 3 minutes, it shows it as screen-on time.
Here are some screenshots.

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with my Nexus 7: the wifi connection speed drops when the screen turns off and the tablet goes into standby mode. The connection is not dropped. I noticed this while downloading some Humble Bundle games.
I have set the connection to stay on during standby.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Most folks seem to set the display timeout to 30 minutes for big downloads. And touch the screen every 20 minutes or so to keep it awake.

Isnt it because n7 runs on that tiny lil core when screen is turned off? Thus it drops the speed in order to save battery?

Thanks for the advices
Hey all,
Using betterbatterystats I can see that my phone was awake for considerably longer than the screen. My question is...why? Is it a common Nexus 4 behavior? Is it that CPU wake bug people were talking about? I don't seem to have any odd wakelocks either. I am able to get around 4 hours of screen time if I try hard...or 3 hours with constant texting/what's app, and the occasional GTA vc
I attached pics, any help would be appreciated.

bump, anyone?
I purchased a nexus 7 recently, updated to 4.3,locked and unrooted as of yet. I currently have 2 user accounts active on it. Since my first 100% charge, I have been getting tacky battery life. I follow the 100% charge and discharge till 1% method. Overnight with WiFi on and all apps closed,I'm getting a drop from 74% to 57% . Looking in the battery stats doesn't help as it doesn't show any unusual ongoing background activity. I'm also getting around 6 hours Screen on time,I could never exceed this mark. I only have the customary Google apps,Facebook,Twitter, instagram, pulse, and 3 games installed. What can be the reason of this ?

Those apps keep running.. Also some third party apps push ads and also turn screen on, which could drain battery..
For better battery life, you can turn wifi off if not needed,.

I tried with WiFi off one night, I got around 9% drain still. I kept the sync interval at the maximum in every data fetching app I have installed too.

You might well try the app Better Battery Stats, and see what it believes is keeping your tablet from going into deep sleep. 9% drain overnight is not terribly excessive -- it should be more like 5%, I guess.
My 2012 nexus 7 had 51% before I went to sleep last night and when I woke up this morning it was completely dead. I didn't even get a charge icon when I plugged it in to charge. I had to leave it for an hour then tried again and it fired right up.. Hope I can see what's causing the drain with better battery stats

I was using mine once in the morning, when the battery hit 4% it suddenly shut down. I tried to charge but the battery icon wouldn't show up. Started it finally using the tips on the Google support site. Must say,I've been plagued with battery issues. I'll try a factory reset and while on it unlock the boot loader too.

I checked with BBS with WiFi off overnight. "PowerManagementService.wake lock" is keeping my N7 awake. Any solutions?
EDIT: I checked in partial wakelocks,AudioOut_2 was the highest at 30m runtime.

Recently after updating to 4.4.2, I've been experiencing a weirdass issue.
The phone will drain normally/fast from 100% to 40%, with system_server draining the most, and then once it's at 40%, the radio will malfunction, sometimes not getting a signal and sometimes showing full bars but it actually doesn't have one.
At 30%, I cannot get any reception whatsoever, even with turning airplane mode on and off. And then a while after hitting 30%, the phone will just die instantly, no "Powering off" popup, just sudden black screen until I plug it in again, in which case it it will be partially reset in the fact that I will show the "Android is upgrading" popup and the clock and date will show 8:00 and 1/1/1970 respectively. If I manually shut the phone off, it can't be booted up again until it is plugged in.
Any ideas?

Are you rooted? If so wipe data or flash a new rom if not Idk try restoring using the factory images

The limit has been increasing, now it dies at ~55%, and I can't manually reboot no matter what, it'll always need an AC power source to boot up

Hi guys.after install slimkat my battery is acting weird.it shutdowns when in 22% or evento more.also when i restart the phone the % is way different then it was. And dont matter what% is. On the third reboot that i do the levrl drops to 1%.should i try recalibrating it?(let it shutdown then recharge it 6 hours with it turned off)?.
If i have to rma again.then i sell this thing because not even my China tab is giving all these problems.( my n4 was exchanged and the new gone to rma 2 times already in 1month!)
