Hi guys, I've accidentally flashed a p4wifi aokp milestone6 on my nexus S (didn't pay enough attention)
Now my phone boots correctly, but I can't mound sdcard, and this happens on recovery too
Is there anything I can do? I can't flash back any roms
P.S: It seems that I have my old rom installed (aokp jb), that's what the Info says

I use CWM. I think that I can solve everything if I format the sd, but I really need to access it to save some files first
I use cwm 6.0.1.3 version and has problem mounting sd thats why i asked you. Try to flash a 5 version with fastboot to mount sd.

fastboot
fastboot can update rom too.
fastboot flash [partition name] [image name]
three partition, system boot radio, needed for rom flashing.
fastboot flash system filename.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
Never had any problem with mounting sdcard with cwm, it would be way too coincidental that it stopped working just exactly when I flash a wrong rom.
And I have 5.5.0.4...
In theory, flashing the wrong boot.img could create a missmatch on the mount points. If all else fails you can fastboot in the various partitions directly to correct.
i have this problem too on my brother's gnex.
i currently downloading stock factory image to flash from fastboot.
just try that.
hope we can get back our usb storage.

I had a friend who recently bought a GT540 and I've been doing some research on how flash some custom roms for her.
With every android phone I've had in the past, the method was pretty simple. I rooted the device, installed clockwork recovery, and then flashed a custom rom zip from clockwork recovery.
For the GT540 though, I keep seeing things about something called "fastboot" which I am unfamiliar with. Subsequently for the custom roms available, I see that some roms like swift have separate files. One for recovery and one for fastboot. I'm assuming that each file is for each method.
Question: My question is, do I have to deal with "fastboot" and "KDZ" or can I just install clockwork on it and flash roms zips from my sd card from recovery like I have been doing with all my other android phones?

You can read about what fastboot is here. With the GT540, you must flash a 'fastboot KDZ' which activates fastboot. Then you use fastboot to flash recovery. I have a tutorial link in my signature that explains how to install fastboot, recovery AND custom ROMs.

Well the reply is going to be very long too.... Anyway the swift does not come with a recovery partition so u have to flash a kdz that "unlocks it" so after doing this you have a recovery partition but no recovery. so u have to flash another kdz to get fast boot. Using fast boot u can flash a recovery to use like u would said.
At this point u can flash rom via fast boot or recovery.
So you could say fast boot is only needed once to flash the first recovery. But since it is there we might as well use it. Fast boot uses .img files while recovery uses .zip files. Our recovery can only be flashed thru fast boot.
Last thing the kdz part is a killer. It killed my phone and some others. Well need more help just ask.

Nope. You just need to flash the fastboot KDZ and then flash a recovery image through fastboot.

Recovery is on partition mtdblock2 (/dev/block/mtdblock2) which is not mounted in android, and fastboot is part of the bootloader.

OK, so I flashed one of the new leaked ICS stock ROMs and it appears that everything is ok. I'm digging all of the features including the panoramic camera. I decide that I want to put on Taboonay for a little flavor. I try to boot into recovery and this is what I get:

(IN RED) Recovery verified failed

Well, not sure if I can get you up and running. This is going to depend on if you followed traditional installation instructions that are posted on every thread that contains a Rom.
But first, let's cover where you went wrong. And that would probably be when you went back to Recovery. It seems, you didn't hit Vol - and PWR, but instead selected Vol + and PWR. And as such, it tried to run an update.zip file, which is a no-no. This resulted in a corrupted image.
Secondly, Rom Manager is a phone app. This will in most cases, bork your tab.
First, I would try Acer Installer (newest version) and try to install RA Recovery. If you were using CWM before, you probably can't flash it again.
If that doesn't work, then you will have to roll back from ICS, and you will need your original UID number. Hopefully you wrote this down somewhere. If you were using RA Recovery, you will find the UID number in the UID.txt on your SD Card in the Recovery folder (if you made a system backup before flashing ICS roms). If you were using CWM, well, it might be buried in one of the .img files in the clockwork folder (again, if you made a backup before flashing ICS). You will have to de-compile the image files to find it (hopefully).
If your ADB seems to be working, you may want to push the RA Recovery;

Hope you get it going. From what I have seen, mostly when the people lose their recovery, they were using CWM. Haven't heard of any losing it when using RA Recovery. But anyhow, use Acer Recovery first, and try the RA Recovery.
So.... i installed paranoid android and after... there were no connections at all! no internet, no usb, nothing. So i bootet into fastboot and now i just want to flash a clean cm10 or something. Sh1t on my data and anything, everything is in my cloud what is the command to flash a simple zip via fastboot? i did not find anything related to n4 in the internet and i want to get sure i am using the right one for the nexus 4 and no old device
You dont flash zips through fastboot.
At least not the type of zips you're talking about.
You boot into recovery. Do a full wipe. Factory reset + format system. Then flash cm10.1 plus the gapps.

The problem is, there is no ROM on my sd and i cant find my device via adb. so sideload also wont work.

Got it working. It bootet. I found a mysterious backup on my sd and restored it Ô.o i never did one, but, hey, it works^^. next try to flash cm10.1^^ and first i drop it to my sd.

Franco Kernel r72 + paranoid android = no USB. Simple math.
If you end up in that position again, you can flash the stock images using fastboot (*.img files on your pc, phone at bootloader).
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
etc.

I am in the process of flashing Cyanogenmod 11 onto my TF300T however I am in a world of hurt. First I updated to the latest TWRP (2.6.3 -4.2). When i boot up into TWRP it is asking me for a password which I do not know. If I press Cancel i cannot see any contents of /sdcard. Also if I insert a microSD card, again cannot see any contents. TWRP is telling me there is no operating system installed and if i reboot it just comes straight back into TWRP.
I apologise if this question has already been asked but I just cant figure this one out.

What helped me was to reboot into the boot loader (using volume down+power, has three options RCK, cold-boot linux, Wipe data [dont ever ever ever wipe data]) and select cold-boot linux (the android guy in the middle) and it would boot back into my ROM. If you cant get in that way, you are going to have to use ADB on your computer and use the "adb reboot-fastboot" command. If you get in, back up your files, because you're at the event horizon of losing all your data. If your bootloader is 10.6.1.8 youre going to need to flash the latest asus stock firmware from their website.

u should back to twrp 2.5, or u should use scanno twrp.

I am using bootloader 10.6.1.3. When I cold boot linux it just continually boots up into TWRP.
Whenever I try to run an ADB command i get "error: device not found". I have installed the android SDK, tried to install the USB drivers but no luck (possible windows 8 issue?).
It doesnt matter if I lose all data on it, i dont keep anything really important on it.
I have rolled back to 2.5.0 TWRP and it still asks me for a password.
I've switched over to my Mac now and have been able to push the CM-11 ROM into the sdcard directory. However when I attempt to flash it, it fails immediately with the log saying.
E:Unable to mount '/system'

I had something similar, tried many things but nothing worked so i ended up flashing stock ROM again with fastboot.
If you need help on how to do that just let me know.

Ok this morning I have tried the following:
1. Flashed Scanno's TWRP from the OMNI thread using this command:
> fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery recovery.img
2. Booted up into TWRP, again /sdcard is empty.
3. Pushed the OMNI ROM onto /sdcard using:
> adb push omni-4.4.2-20131218-tf300t-HOMEMADE.zip /sdcard/
4. Went to Install and selected the zip then it immediately fails saying:
Unable to mount '/system'
Am I missing something here? From above i see that i flash 'recovery'. Do I need to flash 'system' with fastboot?
no, but maybe your PITs are corrupt. do you still have an older nandroid backup you could try to restore first?
oh just read that twrp asks for password. is that still the case?

Yep it's still asking me for a password.
What are PITs?
I'm not sure if I have a backup. When in TWRP if I go to restore it can't find any. It's like the whole tablet is wiped. Does this have something to do with not having the ability to mount anything?

So I just tried getting cm11 on my tf300t, i installed TWRP 2.5 and rooted my device, everything went well. I then did a factory reset and wiped cashe. I tried installing then cm11 zip file with no success. I get the message that it failed. And now im on a device with no ROM to boot into and no working ROM to flash on the device.
Since there is a SD card slot on the device, would it be possible to put another ROM on there and then flashing that?
Please help me!

in order to install CM11, you need a special TWRP modded for KK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48508679&postcount=7
You can copy a CM11 nightly and the TWRP onto a SD card and flash from there, or use fastboot.

Hello, i have a similar problem, i wanted to install CM11 on my TF300T, i downloaded the latest version of TWRP from their site for the tablet, installed via Fastboot and everything seems to be ok, when i try to flash it (via CM OTA) it ask me for the password and it didn´t mount any data, but when i reboot the tablet it just keep loading twrp and i can't get to fastboot nor adb nor APX, so i have no idea on how to restore or boot back to the OS, or i just bricked the device?

i'm not really sure about the number but it was the latest one from ASUS, i was on the official 4.2.1 ROM when i moved to CM10 a few months ago

When you restart you tablet, and hold the vol down key while rebooting it will give you a bootloader number: 10.6.x.x.x

that's the point, it doesn't do anything, is like i'm not holding or pressing it, it just show the ASUS Logo screen and in the top left it says that the bootloader is unlocked as usual, i don't think is a wardware problem because it was working the last time it booted on Android

Once it goes to recovery, adb will be accessible. Then follow Buster's recovery method.
I accidentally wiped the OS from advanced wipe option. How do I get my phone to work again. I tried to operate adb sideload from recovery but it failed. I have downloaded the stock rom but I do not know how to install it.
Please help.

Just flash it from custom recovery, so download it into ur phone go to recovery and simply flash it and all should be good.

Your phone should boot into recovery, so as long as it goes on and boots all u do u is use ur pc to move file over and flash it...

Boot into bootloader (hold power and system on), flash the though recovery through adb, mount your .zip,, flash your .zip through recovery. Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I've been drinking with the roommates, lol.

The same thing happened to me also! The whole /data (incl. sdcard) partition went corrupt (showed up in TWRP as eemc instead of ext4) & the /vendor failed to mount.
First I had to repair the /data partition (unfortunately the data was lost, as it repaired to a blank partition). I ended up having to go home (was at work at the time) & hook the phone up to the PC & download the ROM & transfer it onto the sdcard. I'm not entirely sure why/how this happened, but I believe it was because a corrupt vendor IMG. Although that theory doesnt include why the /data partition corrupted, it only explains why the /vendor partition failed to mount.

I have the same issue. The problem is, that my computer will not recognize the phone in bootloader mode or in recovery mode(MTP enabled). How can install usb drivers without being able to boot into phone OS???? I've tried Nexus Toolkit with no success. Please help?

Hi... Just boot into recovery and reflash system.img from the factory image of your choice in bootloader with fastboot. Also flash the vendor image from the same factory image. Done...
Or reflash the whole package with flash all (manually is better imho). But you'll waisted time... Let your phone reboot into Android and you'll have your internal storage back.

Yes TWRP has a reboot to bootloader option available. So you can access fastboot via bootloader to flash the necessary images. Just don't forget to re flash TWRP image again in case the stock recovery image was flashed beforehand.
The odd thing was that I did choose that option to boot to bootloader in twrp and it didn't work. I ended up having to reboot to bootloader manually. Not a big deal. All is working now, but thought that was interesting.

Exactly which partitions did you wipe? system? data? Internal Storage (userdata)? all of the above? Hopefully you did not wipe userdata (all your stuff). Were you on a stock ROM? You should be able to d/l the Google image from the same build you were on, extract system and data and fastboot flash those. Don't flash userdata. All your stuff should be there. Follow the tutorial on how to set up fastboot and selectively flash partitions.
