[Q] Nexus 4 wireless Charger .. - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does any one knows what's the price of Nexus Charger , which enables you to charge the phone via wireless. Are other wireless charging devices available and compatible with N4?

No official pricing yet but it's been seen various places in europe around 60-80€.
The Nexus 4 should charge fine on any Qi-compatible wireless charging unit.

Hopefully the new pad for the Nokias work. Gives another option.

Charging a US N7 in Europe

Hi Guys!
I am pretty new on this forum, although i have been on xda years ago when i used windows mobile. Now i am proudly owner of a Nexus 7 16gb. I got this pre-ordered on the day Google announced it, and got my sister to bring it to me in the Netherlands. I own a C60, with pretty much no flaws except a very tiny screen lift which doesnt bother me.
Well, I started this topic because of the following:
Since I got the US version, it also came with the US wall charger wich doesnt work in the Netherlands.
Therefore i recently ordered a original EU wall charger to charge my Nexus 7. Charging with my laptop takes forever, wich seems to be a common problem with this nexus. Also other wall chargers don't work (dont show charge, or trickle charge. anyways, it takes forever).
Now i got this US > EU converter thing, so i can also use the US wall charger that came with my Nexus.
Since im now i cant post a picture of this converter, but its the first thing that shows up when u google: us eu converter
Only thing i am concerned about is the voltage. I got this simple converter wich only converts the plug type.
I have been told since im going from US (110v) to EU (220v), there shouldnt be any problems charging it using this converter.
But just to be sure, i would like to hear your opinions Is the original US wall charger compatible with 220v?
Thanks a lot!
You will be alright using the adapter. A friend of mine bought the nexus in the US and he uses one of those adapters to convert it to a EU adapter. The flat adapters will work in all of EU the round adapters will sometimes not fit in South European countries like Spain

Alright thanks!
So it will not be risky to charge with? I know it will charge with the converter, but is it safe for my Nexus?
Im asking this because i have already ordered a original EU Asus wall charger, it is not like i need it desperately to work.
But if i can use both EU and US charger with converter, it would be very convenient for when im not at home.

No risk at all. The charger will use the amount of power the nexus 7 needs to safely charge itself.

all you need is something like this

any CHEAP wireless charging kits confirmed working with this N4?

anyone figure out a NON google brand wireless charging system that works? the energizer powerpad ones?
or don't waste time until googles official Q orbit whatever its called comes out
You are in the completely wrong section. This should be either Q&A or Accessories.

Buying N4 from US to use in UK

Given the price difference, if I buy an N4 while over in the US on business, will it work in the UK on our 3G networks? Are there any technical differences between the two phones (other than the plug for recharging from the wall socket of course!).

No, they are the same, N4 only has one variant. US version is the same as WW version.

OK, great. Would it make a difference to the returns policy if there was a problem with it. Could I return it from the UK to whoever handles it in the UK or is it not a worldwide warranty?
And, is the charger like an HTC one where the plug has a USB socket for the cable meaning I could use my current charger?

It uses the standard micro USB cable but the ac adapter uses a different output voltages. Nonetheless' it will still work.
I think if you will have to sent it back to U.S instead of the UK. I also think you have to return it to wherever you purchased your device.

Yes it will Sammy already showed off the back and charging plate
It's got what appears to be five charging pins. Or some charging pins and some pins for something else. Some of the U.S. carriers hid the pins on the N2 in order to disable wireless charging so there's no way of knowing yet who will offer it and who won't.

presumably 2 pins for NFC and 3 for wireless charging
I just don't see the reason for hiding the wireless charging pins, its an accessory you can sell and make money on. Albeit an overpriced accessory that won't fit into standard batter cases but some folks like it.
Thanks guys... I hadn't seen pictures with the back cover off before. Hopefully Samsung will release official Qi flip cases this time

I would think you can get a better deal than that if you're buying those generic brand Chinese ones (which I'll be buying for my Note 2).
Qi pad itself isn't specific to the Note 3. They'll hike the price up when marketing it for the Note 3

The one you listed is a generic brand one.
Here are two more generic at 20AUD

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/qi-Wirel...lePhoneAccessories&hash=item3a81d9acb3&_uhb=1
And when the Note 3 comes out you should be able to get a receiver at around ~10$

I haven't bought mine for my Note 2 yet but I honestly don't see why they wouldn't work..
I know for sure though that they're no different than the $60 set you found.
But the real question is did Verizon muck up the wireless charging pins on the GN3 like they did on the GN2?

They mucked up the GN2 to sell more HTC DNAs (which has WC), VZN added WC to the LG2 so there is the possibility they might try something fishy but who knows. I suspect not since they are releasing the device pretty quick.
According to their site (Verizon), the Note 3 will not have wireless charging. Don't know if it says on the Note 3 page, but do a comparison with the Note 3 and G2 and there is an X on the wireless charging category while the G2 has a check.
Wireless charging on note 3
Fcc filings show there is wireless charging. But that only means it is available on the phone. Whether carriers do something to block that is a whole other story. Why they would want to do that is beyond me since that equates to more accessories being sold
Ta da!

Everyone except Verizon I'm sure lol. (It would still fit, just not work.)

20W Wireless Charger

Does anyone know where the new wireless 20 watt charger for Note 10+ (with US plug) can be bought from, or at least pre-ordered? It seems unlike the phone itself, it was announced but haven't been made available. Please post links if you've seen an online store that has it for sale.

That would be the one I'm asking about, thanks. It's actually a 20W wireless charger, not 15W. This phone arena link explains the reason it's listed at 15W only is because FCC is slow and lazy, and they don't even have a 20W certification process for wireless chargers, and they only moved from 5W to 15W last year, so they were able to certify the charger for 15W only. Also Roland Quandt, the guy who originally leaked this charger says he's personally witnessed this charger working at 20W charging rate.
best buy have them in stock already you can have it shipped
