I don't get why there are all these threads about getting voice calls to work when this method already works
So I installed the apk skype file from this website and install through the my files file manager already installed on the tab!!!
http://androidcommunity.com/skype-calls-over-3g-now-available-with-a-simple-hack-20101007/
It's so amazing what you developers do with even getting paid! Thanks so much.
Next there will be a way to get incoming calls through landlines.

Obvious troll is obvious.

PS. In the rare case you aren't trolling, skype isn't the same as phone service. You should know this already if you spend any time on this site.
The deal was to use the phone on the cellular network rather than the internet.
Here you guys go!
EDIT: Please thank Segnaro for giving us the correct install script.
BUMP.

I had loaded it on my vibrant yesterday.
Overall I was surprised how well it ran honestly.
The things that I noticed that didn't work:
call,
wifi,
my gps didn't work,
I did not notice any sort of data activity.
Time and date where off a bit for me.
Sound did not work.
Just about every app force closed too.
Home, menu, and back button where working for me, search didnt tho.
Music Player did work technically (minus the lack of sound) - when changing songs or menus inside the player, a red border would flash around the outside of the screen.
and turning the phone off just caused it to reboot, had to pull the battery eventually.

Homie G I stated that calls DON'T work. It is a tablet OS, you need Skype.
I reported that some users have noticed Data working if that's what your referring to?
Messages app isn't working for me, but what would I expect its still in development lol

Here w go again!!!!!!
You can only surf the net and talk on the phone if you are using 4g or wifi. Because these are seperate radios. If u are using 3g then it is impossible, it is a limitation of cdma tecnology.
Please do not argue with what i have said it is fact and not my opinion.

+1 just to get another post count
seems like you're blaming it on miui, what other rom let you surf and talk at the same time?
It's a limitation of cdma. Unless your using wifi or 4g.

It doesn't matter the which Rom, as ling as its cdma it won't talk and surf unless its on WiFi or 4G.
Scientific fact, no fix or hack.

how did you get root to begin with?
Its funny cz miui has the iPhone interface and if you run that Rom then you automatically assume you get the same capabilities as the actual (i)phone itself ..aha still laughing

I remember a while ago someone was working on a dual boot app, and it was in the market, but i forgot the name and anything similar doesn't show it up or it may have been removed? idk but it was here and it worked, the only "problem" was it was in BETA, and it cost like 20 bucks lol

This brighten my day in math class.
Also its not simple for someone to "just get on it" plus this phone is slowly dieing with all the new Galaxy phones coming out.
And what type of dual boot do you want? Have Google and WM7? Or two different Google roms?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It would be nice to have dual boot. In my case, I love CM7, but I hate not having WiFi Calling. It would be nice to be able to dual boot CM7 and Bionix so that when I needed WiFi Calling, it was only a reboot away.
I use cm7 as well. I use Google voice with wifi calling. Works fine with me. But I there is dual boot I would want WM7 and droid. I had that set up on my sony x1

Anyone know how to do this on VZW? It can be done on the TMobile variants, but it's different on VZWs G2s for some reason
The first thing you should try is not posting questions in the general section.

To block your number on VZW you have to enable the service on your account. I believe it's under your plan or something. After you enable it your number will be blocked from caller id. If you want it to show, you will have to hit *82 then area code then number.

I guess I didn't explain this well enough. i would like to block certain incoming calls on my G2. I was able to do that on both my Galaxies and
my DNA, but I can't seem to find that option within the call settings.

My bad. I haven't found any setting either. Might have to use a 3rd party app for that. The only thing I can say is that if you have the number stored in your contacts, you can select ' go straight to voicemail'. I do know that some ROMs have that feature, like CM.

The aosp dialer has the option to blacklist specific numbers and wildcards but I've never seen a stock dialer that did.

You have the option to send strait to voice mail. That's pretty much like blocking a call
