Custom contact notification tone for SMS?

Is it possible to assign a contact a custom notification tone for SMS?

With Handcent you can. I do not believe you can do it with the stock messaging service.

Not sure if you can with the stock messaging app, but I know there's the option if you use hancent

As previously stated there is no option on the stock messaging app, however it is possible to attach a contact card. If your friend is using it for business they would be able to attach a contact card with their information on texts that require it.

Looking for a stock Jellybean Messenger

I found a few but not just a stock Jellybean messenger. I found slide messenger which has everything I want, but your text messages are put in slides. Anyone?

I'm not sure what you mean by "stock Jellybean" - Holo UI? Something else? I'm using Chomp SMS and while it does use the menu button, it suits me better as a "Jellybean messenger" than the one Samsung included.

The stock jellybean messenger such as quick reply in the notification bar, or the breathing sms icon. Like on the nexus

[Q] Screen light up on stock messaging app?

Is there a way to make the stock messaging app not make the screen wake upon a new text. I just want to use the notification LED. and please don't tell me try a different app because I need stock for the gear. thanks

Nope. It's baked in. With a custom rom you can get ride of it. Sorry i asked the same thing.

With root there are options in Wanam to do this. Screen stay off when small received. However it doesn't work with this device.

This also annoys me to no end. Hopefully someone can mod the apk so we Dont have the screen automatically turn on when an MMS is received
