Extremely low YouTube volume - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running the latest cm10 nightly with the stock kernel and the volume of YouTube videos is extremely low, this also happened with the previous nightly from about a week ago that I was running. Even with headphones in I can barely hear the audio, yet the volume of everything else is fine.
Has anyone else been experiencing this?

I flashed Cookies and Cream v1.3.1 and the volume is audible (but pretty low) but with headphones or an external speaker plugged in I can't hear anything.....

is it just YouTube in general? or all audio.
i'm on CM10 monthly-2, and some YouTube videos have low audio in general, with or without headphones.
but then my music and videos i manually put on it have fine audio.

Video & Sound & TCPMP

Has anyone else noticed this?
On my Jasjar, I can play various movie files, in wmv/avi/mpeg and the weird thing is that when I mute the sound, the video playback is smooth and flawless, but as soon as I turn on the sound through the speakers, the movie starts to jump, which gets worse as I turn up the volume. This is odd, maybe related to power settings. Anyone else tried this? Play a movie without the sound (either muted or disabled in TCPMP) and see if the movie is less jerky.

[Q] Hissing noise on the hero

I get a hissing noise whether on headphones or on the hero's speaker when playing any audio. It starts just before the audio/music starts and continues for about 4/5 seconds after the audio/music is stopped.
I was using froydvillian 1.7.2 and now cronos 0.0.9, I think the hissing noise was worse on froydvillain.
Is this related to the rom? or does the hero just have a really ****ty dac?
If you want to try and replicate this, put on headphones, play some music and press pause and you should be able to hear the 4/5 second hiss
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I get this - not sure if it's the phone on the way out :,)

[Q] Audio quality

I have noticed the audio quality gets very poor in some video and audio files with Vega speakers or my Sony headphones.
This happens when volume is above 75% , the sound gets messed up, first I thought it is because of weak and cheap Vega speakers but when I tried with my headphones it is the same. Of course there is nothing wrong with the files as they are played perfectly on other devices.
I tried different media players and the result is same.
I'm running vegacomb 9n and 8.1 previously. Does it have anything to do with audio decoding or its same on all ROMs?
Thanks
Poor audio quality at high volume is a bug of vegacomb roms. You have to downgrade to 2.x roms to get good audio

Static noise from headphones

So, whenever I play music from my phone or a video on youtube there is this constant static noise in the background. I can still hear the sound perfectly fine but there is this slight buzz in the background. I noticed that when I listen to music or a video on my PC with the same headphones the buzz is gone. The headphones I have are Sennheiser CX300II so they aren't that expensive but I've encountered this problem with a lot of other headphones so I think it's my phone. I'm currently using CM13.0 but I have had this problem on all the previous versions as well. As I said I can still listen to music but the buzz in the background is just annoying, any help/info as to how to solve this (or not if it can't be) will be greatly appreciated!

Speaker Audio levels are playing very weird

Hi, I was using CRDroid (android 8.0 version) for some months before I switched to stock marshmallow rom recently.
The following issue is present In BOTH THE ROMS.
The volume levels of the speaker are very weird,
While browsing instgram some videos have excessively low volume while others have decent while some have good audible sound
Before u say that it's the users audio quality let me tell you that I compared the same videos on my cousins iPhone 6s (which has a mono speaker) and audio levels on all the videos were quite audible.
Even my YouTube and Spotify plays at very low volumes.
I used to think my speaker was damaged but then how can I explain the high volume instgram videos???
Mx player allows me to playback videos at high volumes with the help of its sw decoder but what about the rest of the places? :/
Can anyone shed some light on this???
