how can i add again data network mode in my power menu because i flashed mine with a custom rom evo v2.1 help me how to add it i really want it back because of warranty
If you are concerned about warranty, then don't do anything with your phone.
It's your rom option.
I think the fact that you rooted your phone alone, will void the warranty. much more installing a custom rom.
hmmmm for the data network thingy i guess flash stock rom? and for the warranty hmmm reset bin account?

(it must DEPEND YOUR PHONE)
AFTER THAT, your warranty will back :highfive::highfive::highfive::highfive:
The data network mode is gone because of the base firmware of the rom....
Alright...FLASH BACK TO STOCK ROM..Reset Bin Count....
UN ROOT...DONE...

Hi All,
After flashing new ROM, my first time, the device couldn't connect to the network due to missing IMEI.
I don't know how and why it was deleted.
I have tryied to revert back to the Stock ROM and the same.
I have no support from my service provider because the device is hacked...
Any solutions?
same case happened to me
hi there, just the same thing happened to me when I newly bought samsung galaxy S2, I did many trials to find a solution and a lot of internet research but I could not find any, and a lot of new flashes.
At the end, I re- installed again a stock ROM and went to the service shop where it is still under guaranty, the guys there did not know how to fix it back although they have contacted the VENDER (samsung firm), and at the end they replace it with BRAND New one, I was lucky.
However, when you get a new one, you have to back up a directory called "efs" using root explorer application (have to buy it from market),while u must be rooted, they folder includes the imei data needed, and if you have it already back it up some time back, try to restore it and may be you will have your imei back, (i could not dare to try this after i got the replacement).
My cousin had this problem when he flashed lite'ning rom 6.1 on his new galaxy s 2. I flashed it back to stock XXKH3 and imei and baseband returned. Tried flashing back to 6.1 and again went off so back to stock and everything working fine.
Try restore IMEI technqiues (part of my reserches atthat time):

Using the root explorer method I'm not sure you will be able to restore the IMEI if you corrupt the /efs folder. Have a look at this!
Dude, read the f**king rules!

If your /efs directory got erased due to a flash.. Short answer: Without a backup you cannot restore it. A support request from samsung maybe, but unlikely due to the modified nature of the device.

If only. It's funny how people lose their efs folder then come complaining and researching afterwards. All they have to do is simply back it up.
Return the phone to samsung under warranty and hope for the best OP.

for me, after installing Lite... Rom 6.1, i miss my IMEI, but after installing first rom(with three files!) of middle east, its back to me!!!
Lost IMEI
Are you sure the IMEI is realy lost? sometimes when the modem ****s up or compatibility issues.
I think maybe you should download only the modem which corasponds to the rom you are using, ie, use KH3 modem if KH3 ROM etc.
Give that a try my friend...dont forget to read the instructions in the other threads about the use of odin, I know this is not the appropriate place for this thread but there is no need to be agresive towards people who are learning the ropes
indeed try to flash back to stock rom and then root Backup your efs folder then try flashing a rom again.
i got this also that my Imei was gone flashed back to stock and it was back again.
Someone knows how to reproduce this?
I already have an efs backup but want to try to get a new sgs2 (yellow tint prob).
Cheers
Same here, have had Litening Rom 6.1 (for a couple of months already) and IMEI gone since this morning. The phone can't find the network anymore. It also has problems booting up sometimes. In some cases I need to pull the battery and boot it 5 times in a row before it boots past the first screen.
I guess I need to downgrade as well. (Or upgrade to the latest Litening version, but I'll first downgrade to the original firmware.)
on newer phones they have made it harder to fff up your imei the efs directory no longer exists and the data is saved in a private partition instead..
that is the way it is on my wifes galaxy s gio that i just setup..
just info for thought.
Hello to all here! I know that my question is for development section, but i can't post there, because i still don't have 10 posts, so im asking here.
Is there any way for me to change "Device status:changed" on a custom kernel? I've bought Triangle Away, but it doesn't remove this.
Im using boeffla-kernel 2.21 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964572
Im sorry if i broke some rules by posthing this here, but i still don't want to spam 10 posts to get into developers section.
I want to do this, because i have android 4.1.1, which i want to upgrade to 4.1.2
status changed is because sysscope finds su binary somewhere. if you remove it status will change to default value but you will break root

It checks for any changes in the system files, and it does this on every boot, I the only way to remove it is to un root and remove every mod (re flash is the easiest way to do this)
Also there isn't any point honestly if you need to take it to service they will see a custom kernel and not honour warranty you need to go to complete stock for service.
If you dont need service then there's no point at all.

Thanks for answer), i hope that i won't need go to service, my phone working as good as possible. I guess i'll have to stick to KIES-updates of firmware and not Air-updates, because they don't work with "Device Status:Changed"

They should work its the custom rom kernel or root that prevents OTA .

The most imporant thing is when you go into download-mode, that everything there is Official.
That in your phone, you see CHANGED, is easy to fix.
Take a nandroid-backup,
flash to stock rom,
bring it in for warranty,
get it back,
root,
put nandroid back,
nothing happend...
Hi
I am planning on flashing Adams Kernel on my GT-i9505 i have never done that before so i have a few questions please have patience i have never done it before i have flashed roms before but that was a long time ago (WM6) coming from a long iPhone stint.
I am currently running stock rom rooted and i have CWM installed.
My main reason for flashing is gaining some battery life and trying to get rid of this pesky RILJ wakelock wich wont go away is this a good reason and will it solve my problem?
Is my choice of the Kernel a good one? i am looking for something that works well as closed to stock as possible i dont want to lose any fuctionality.
If i ever need to send it in to service will this void my warranty? if yes do i need to take steps before flashing so i can go back to stock kernel if/when i need to? if yes what are they?
P.S i have done extensive reading before posting but i still have some doubts.
Thank you in advance for your time
Jay

KTweaker kernel works well as it allows you to underclock and undervolt the CPU and GPU which will save battery life

Follow this guide to install official stock firmware before sending in for repair
Thanks for your response. I flashed the kernel you recommended.

Hey!
So yeah Iv'e been root-phobic ever since I bricked my old Ace Plus back in the day, and Iv'e been satisfied with non-root for a while.
But now the advantages of root are tempting me to go back. Iv'e always hated the fact that you can't disable the camera sound and the bloatware takes necessary space, and let's not forget all the apps that have special root features.
The thing is I'm ready to root again but then I realized rooting would change my phones status to "modified," and I won't be able to update my firmware. And that's a no-no since I'm expecting to ( hopefully ) get 4.3 soon.
So my question is: If I root, remove all the c**p I want to ( camera sound, bloatware ), and then unroot, will my phone status still be modified or will the unoot send it back to normal, so I can update? I hope it does! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!
I think once you root your phone it will stay modified forever, but still, having a rooted S3 is so much better, i have 4.4.1 with CM and its something that I think will never come to our S3, so..
I rooted mine two weeks before I bought it, ****ed it up and fixed it many times...
The choice is yours to make
Yes you can go back to official status even after rooting and flashing custom roms multiple times.
This can be done by resetting the flash counter via Triangle Away and flashing a stock Rom.
Check your Build version and CSC now by dialing *#1234#
Better yet download from Samfirmware your current firmware in case you want to go back to it later.
Also you may want to look at these threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42568033
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33817354
Also it's a good practice to backup your EFS, if you're still on efs v1, and keep it in a safe place like your ext sd card or your PC before flashing another Rom or firmware.

Hello every one ...I got new problem in my new phone s4 i9500 ..suddenly loss vibrat touch during using the phone in custom rom ...I flash sokp at first custom rom and got that issue then flash hassan rom based on stock at first flash the issue present but flash it again and then work after that flashed aicp rom and after some days today the vibrat gone even in recovery mode ...what can be the problem ? My phone still new 1month ago ..can it be from kernal philiz ?? Thanks for any suggestion
any suggestion or throw my phone from window ......software or hardware problem ?????
Hi Ammar,
I think your problem is in software. If I were you, I install cwm or twrp recovery, do all wipes including system, preload and internal memory, then flash the latest official firmware with Odin. If problem stands still, I do all wipes agaün and install the latest official firmware again. Even if this is does not work then I decide the problem is hardware based.

Well I cant comment on what went wrong.
I was on slim rom once and my vibration Intensity was tooo too low. Because of that was missing calls.
Or you can download an app for checking vibration. Once my proximity sensor and speaker stopped working, i ran a test and everything was back to normal.
Try test you android from the playstore and see if that test works.
Well here is the app
But again as I said, let us know if this is happening on the stock rom.

Once my Wi-Fi stopped working on a Cyanogenmod based rom. I flased stock firmware many times but it didn't work. Then I installed cwm recovery and do all wipes then it worked. As you understand, such wierd things might happen sometimes that we couldn't understand.
i sent my phone to company and told me that vibrate engine is broken and they change it and now work good but what is the problem that caused this i dont know exactly ...as they said either by drop the phone or by water but non of these happend with my new phone
thanks guys for help
