No, unfortunately not, not a full backup
The closest to backing up is Windows Phone Device Manager

As dxdy instructions say
"Go to “Manage applications”, wait to scan for installed apps be done Select desired apps or game which you want backup, right click an select Backup. To restore backup, install fresh app or game to device, run WPDM and sync HTC HD2, then run backup file on your PC."

changing NAND android ROMs with ease

Hi there,
I have been using a NAND Android ROM for a few months and wanted a change.
What is the best and easiest method to, install NAND android ROMs without having to reinstall your apps and settings?
So in an ideal world, when you see a new NAND Android ROM, you can easily i.e. within minutes install it to your htc hd2 , have a play if you like it keep it or replace it with your old previous WHILST keeping your apps and settings?
Also how do you update MAGDLR to use the latest version?
Also how do you know you are using the best suited RADIO version for you?
Any video tutorials / guides for all above points would great...
Thanks for your help?
Clockworkmod: create a nandroid backup (inside CWM) before flashing a new ROM (inside CWM too). If you don't like the new ROM you can restore the nandroid backup and everything will be the way it was before. When flashing a different ROM (i.e. not an upgrade) it is recommended to do a wipe first (inside CWM too), as this is not done automatically.
Just flash the new Magldr in bootloader, but there's no need to upgrade if you don't have issues. There have been no new features for Android in new releases whatsoever.
You don't know which one is best until you have tried them all, it's very user specific.
There are enough guides on all of this in the forums, check the sticky rollup in the NAND Android section for example.
For restoring apps from one ROM to another, try Titanium Backup. The free version will backup all your apps in one hit, but you need to confirm each app when restoring and this can be quite laborious. The paid app (5.81 USD) allows you to just click restore and it restores all apps and data with no intervention. Have a play with the free one first and you'll see what I mean.

[Q] backup in wm 6,5 cannot restore in android... hlp :(

i have HTC leo with wm 6,5 but wanted android... i used 91 panda for backup and hoped that the android version of panda would restore the backup file to android but it didnt.. now i have my phone with android and cannot restore my contacts.. is there a way to do it or must i reinstal wm 6,5? thx in advance
So I would recommend you should use Google! Install Windows Mobile and sync your contacts with your new Google Mail account. Due to need of Google account it's really easy to sync.

Switching Roms

Question.
I am a longtime user of Xbmod-yuki roms and sadly he is no longer developing. I was wondering if I load a HD20 romsam I basically doing a fresh install? Or would it be similar to a cab update and keep my apps msgs tones etc? I know it is a silly question and I apologize if it posted I did search around. If it ends up being a clean install what is the best backup program to then reload msgs, photos, xaps etc?
Hi.
Yes it will be a fresh install. All the ROMS i know of require a hard reset after initial install anyway
Photos will remain in Zune ( Collection) so no issues there.
I have tried a few ways to back up and restore before ( when i've tried out various roms) but I've never had much luck. Maybe its just me , my PC or HD2
It kind of makes sense to install fresh apps anyway then at least you know everything is "clean" with your new rom. Can be a bit boring time but doesn't take so long in the end.
Good luck
Thank you for your help
dont forget unlock card first on Yuki ROM
Hey, you can back your app data and saves with a program called Windows Phone Device Manager (google it) it will not back up the apps, though, but after you reinstall them you can sync it. You can also sync contacts, ect with your PC.
Yeah, I know
I keep on looking at the Yuki thread and looking at the 'soon...' messages but I moved on also.
For backing up the HD2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227476&highlight=wp7appbackup
Is the best and when you put the XAP's into the backup folder the utility will re-install all the XAP's and restore all the data in one hit.
Believe me its absolutely fantastic but it wont do your SMS messages and I have not had much luck with the sms backup/restore tool.

[Q] Backup Windows Phone 7?

Hello,
I am using the awesome WP7 ROM by HD2O (build 8107) for months now, and it's working great. However, I wanted to try running Android on it, but the thought of not liking it and not being able to go back to my previous setup, including apps, games and personal stuff, is driving me nuts.
I already found the Backup application that uses Zune to backup settings and apps, but according to the creator it doesn't work with the HD2, so I'm stuck.
Last question: In case there's no backup tool available for the HD2, will I still be able to reuse my activation code I got from Microsoft (and maybe see my previous downloaded apps and games) after trying Android?
Thanks.
if you make full backup this back phone to date when you make backup (not date from calendar then apps and others)... also this process not recommended if you want flash new, newer or ROM from other author
recommended is to make backup of apps (one backup for one app)... you can use WPDM for that (read my ROM Install Tutorial from signature)
i flashed maybe more than 100 times WP7 ROM-s on my HD2 and always used same Live activation code...
Thank you for answering both questions. After couple of hours trying to backup my settings using WPDM, I think I'm not wanting to go through the hassle to backup my apps (I just got them for free anyway).
I guess it's best to reinstall Windows Phone and my apps completely in case I don't like Android.

Fresh rom install, chose not to restore any apps. Can I re-launch that wizard?

If I chose to bypass the installing of all my previously installed apps (from the recent cloud backup) after installing a fresh rom, is there any way to get back into that wizard and chose to install all those apps?

If you chose a fresh install probably not. I did the same as you in the past and never found a way to do it. You might want to reinstall the ROM and see if you are given the restore choice again.
