Need help removing CWM from Unrooted Samsung Y - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I installed CDM and now can't root it using the update or oneclick zips. Aparently I need stock recovery. How can I get stock recovery back when I can't flash the stock rom, given I am not rooted. Or is there a way of rooting without stock recovery...e.g odin, if so how do you do this?

don't worry mate cwm for galaxy y at the moment is not permanent so after
reboot you will be back with stock recovery itself !

I found the easiest way to root the latest official JB
This is very useful for now becoz there is no any rooted kernel or what ever so HOW I M GONNA FLASH DEODEXED ROM THRU ODEXED ?
SOLUTION :
FLASH THIS THRU STOCK RECOVERY http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
FLASH THRU ADB SIDELOAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
THIS WAY IS TESTED AND IS WORKING PERFECTLY

The most easiest way to root LS8 is to flash CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip through stock recovery
Steps:
1. Save file to external sd card
2. Shut down
3. Open stock recovery (press power + vol up + home button)
4. Install zip from external sd card
5. Select the file "CWM-SuperSU-v0.97.zip
Goodluck on rooting guys!

[Q]

supppose my phone is not rooted i am using a sgy
what if i directly flash rom zip
will it work?
If it work what is thee need of an update zip?
The need if a update.zip is to root your phone only and install the superuser app. It is safer to root before u flash because the chances of success are higher. If u got bricked go here to ask.

u mean flash custom rom? it's just fine. almost all of them are pre-rooted.
and in that case, u wont need the update zip for rooting

Just flash. All custom ROMs have root.
Btw, you need a custom recovery to flash a ROM (like TWRP, CWM)

Not necessarily. You can flash a custom recovery through Odin and not root it at all and then just install a already rooted ROM.

CWM is always reliable. Some prefer TWRP. I'm using Philz Touch. It depends on your preferences. CWM is the most stable.

There is already a way to go back to stock if you ever do decide to root. Give it a try and if you want, you can flash stock again.
TWRP Recovery is now available for the Note 4 on Tmobile.

I've tried to find an answer to this but can't seem to get a 100% sure answer. If I simply root, that's all, no custom recovery. Will I still get OTA if/when Samsung/T-mobile release an update (ie Lollipop)? Thanks!

Yes you should get OTA if you stay stock.
I had a Quick question about Twrp recovery
I have a tmobile note 4 sm-n910t. I have rooted with cf auto root and put the twrp recovery on and flashed the sd card fix. If I unroot via odin with the stock rom will android recovery be installed again or do I have to flash android recovery again to get rid of twrp recovery. If I do have to reflash android recovery again do you know where I can find it.

[Q] Tricky question for smart people

Hello,
We can't run our email system on a rooted phone.
therefore, i need to do some changes to the phone like changing fonts and removing some Samsung software.
i want to root the note 4, do the changes and then unroot it without re-installing a stock rom.
is that possible?
i'm ready to donate $25 to whoever answers this question.
No it's not possible, we will have to Odin the stock firmware in order to be back unroot ....as far as I know.
You can make a flashable zip with your mods without root the phone, you need only a custom recovery, once you mods flashed you can revert back to stock recovery

That cannot be posible i,m afraid...a custom recovery cannot be installed on a non root device... however there is a chance.... to make a flasheable zip tu unroot the device and to reinstall the stock recovery once the mods has been installed in a rooted device

Of course you can. Just flash a custom recovery via ODiN.

thank you
Thank you Slink for your elegance.
I know how to flash a custom recovery via odin and how to flash a zip file.
how can i create the zip file? at first, i'll only need to replace one font file with another one having the exact name.
swap keys
and secondly, i'll need to swap the back and recent keys because i have a very small thumb that can't reach the back key on my M8 and Z3.
this only can be done by rooting so far but our company Good messaging software won't then work on rooted android.

Just root. Do your things and then fully unroot by using supersu-settings-fully unroot feature.
once you trip knox your email wont run so you cannot unroot
