Best kernel & ROM combination - Eee Pad Transformer General

Hey,
I am currently running cm10 b5 but I have some issues with wlan reconnection and sleep mode. What is in your view the best jb kernel and ROM combination out there?

I've been running the Team Eos nightlies and found build 73 with K.A.T. kernel run's great! :good:

I run TeamEos and mostly it is good, get some browser seizures but nothing I can't live with

I'll give it a go....

I also recommend Team EOS JB nightlies with KAT kernel. I've been using build 78 with kat 47b without problems.

Long time lurker here, finally signed up, so please be gentle.
I've tried almost every JB ROM here, and I do agree EOS seems to be the best. Folks seem to be getting varying performance levels b/w the 74 + KAT builds and the latest 78 build. I'm on EOS 78 now and it seems "a little" slower than 74 + KAT, but it's hardly noticeable.

I used the KAT kernel for New, but still on cm10. The wifi issue seems gone.
One thing keeping me Form EOS is, that GPS is not working?

Now, not new. Damn you auto correction

Hmmmm.... I did a quick test and GPS was slow to lock, but finally came up for me on EOS, I had to go outside and for extra measure removed the leather protector thingy. I'd say it took 3 minutes to lock in.

I use raymanfx's cm10 b1 + kat kernel.
With last versions of cm10 the wifi is weak and kat kernel is not supported.

Battery Drain
I'm currently using Revolver and stock kernel. I've ran before JB of some team with it's kernel((it may be guevor))(bad memory haha)
Does anyone have a clue on how to flash a kernel on b80 transformer and don't have battery drainage?
Whenever I flash a custom kernel, the processor keeps working, even when the screen is turned off.
Can it be the cpu governor?

Yeah,I noticed the weaker wifi too

Perhaps the problem is with ota build. Most here are rooted with custom rom. Are you by chance running a custom rom or the stock one that was sent over the air?

phone is default updated OTA
Then perhaps you can root and install a custom rom. It seems to me when I download a custom rom ota, its more likely to be corrupt. If its stock you want, it's available here. Better yet you might try Pete's Bugless Beast- stock with some additional enhancements. That way you get the stock a stock experience ... but better

It was the other way round for me, I've only had the rebooting issue on my 9023 when I was using a couple of different cm roms, and it went away when I went back to stock. Have tried some other non cm roms, but not for long enough to show any effects.
No reboot, fortunately
That's an issue with 2.3.1, just update to 2.3.4 ota and it should be gone

The CM reboots and sod are know bugs for CM and many have reported the problem stems from the flashing alternative kernel. I've been on GLADOS CFS @ 1.4 for several days now and have had absolutely no problems.

I've never had any random reboots on my NS4G...nor have I even heard of this being an issue with the NS line, at all. I've been flashing new roms/kernels like crazy for the last 3 months I've been using this phone...the longets I think I've gone without a single flash is probably 4 days....and I've never had a single hardware issue of any kind These phones seem really rock-solid to me!!
They've turned a Samsung hater into a Samsung fan overnight!!! I'd buy a GN in a heartbeat if I hadn't JUST bought my NS4G lol

Battery Life on CM7 (AOSP versus Sense)

I've been running the latest nightly (20120722) for a few days now with less than stellar battery life. It seems that everytime I run an AOSP rom the main battery culprits appear to be cell and phone idle, where's with a Sense rom, it' the screen. I have a relatively new battery. I'd say moderate use, typically.
Anyone have suggestions on getting better battery life with CM7? I'm running the stock kernel at 245/800, ondemand, deadline. Also running V6 supercharger at 5.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've gotten 12+ hours today of cm7.2 7/15 nightly and barely at 50%
Did lots of recordings and such.
Dunno
I don't use the v6 script, or do any mods at all.
Just run it as is.
Stock battery too.

Yeah I've gone back to 7/15 to see if it's any better. I seem to remember it being better; I'll report back later today. Still curious why cell standby is the main battery eater on CM7 (or AOSP ROMs in general) as compared with say, SSX or newSENSE, which was the display...

Aosp shows true signal where Sense won't. So AOSP having a cell standy over display sounds about right. Sense always thinks it has signal and AOSP has no signal thanks to sprint. In my area Sprint blows, so that's what I *think

This is better.. I went back to the previous nightly (20120715) for a few days now. Still moderate use.
I'm currently running the stock kernel at 245/1.21, ondemand, deadline. Without V6 supercharger and I didn't flash the ICS theme either.
Perhaps the 20120722 nightly did not play well with my device.

If V6 SuperCharger is not setup correctly, or the setting is to high. Your Battery life can take a hit.

"Slow wifi, jb 4.1.2

Hi all
What is your max wifi internet speeds on the 9300?
For some reason, since moving to jellybean i seem to be locked at 20 mbit.
My S2, and my galaxy tab first gen manages 35-40 mbit om the same connection, S3 stays at 20
I've tried pretty much every different kernel I could find, as well as a number of different roms - same result.
I realize that 20 mbit is not exactly slow for a mobile phone, but i do wonder why the speed is almost cut in half compared to older phones and tablets.
On 4.0.4 firmware, no problems - same result as my other devices.
Anyone experiencing the same? Or have suggestions for a solution?
Thanks!
Installed newest cm10 nightly, problem solved :good:
Now wifi speed is the same as my s2
wtf.
Which roms and kernels you tried? Im using Viking Snowstorm rom and siyah kernal... and i have tried codename android rom too. Does the rom affects or kernel affects the wifi??

Good ROM and/or kernel close to 4.2.1 jelly bean on N7

I currently am running android 4.1.2 and everything is factory stock on my 32 GB N7. I want to use 4.2.1 but do not want the battery died ain and charging issues. I wondering if there are any good ROMs and/or kernels to use that would be similar to the stock 4.2.1 but without the battery drain and charging issues. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm currently using Paranoid Android b9 with m-kernel a25. Right now I can get two full days out of it if I forget to plug it in at night. There are still a few bugs, but the customizability makes it worth it to me.
I was using SmoothROM before, which ran great. If you're looking for something closer to stock, you might take a look at that one.

Rasbean with trinity is a good near stock experience with minor useful mods. As for not wanting to use stock 4.2.1 due to battery issues, I wouldn't worry about it. I ran complete stock unrooted 4.2.1 since I got my 32GB 7 (mid November) until yesterday when I finally rooted and flashed rasbean, and had excellent battery life.
As for charging, people been complaining about it being slow since before 4.2. Mine doesn't take any longer than my g'nex even with 3 times the battery.

rasbean with trinity. close to stock, but better :victory:
I'm on CM10.1 nightly and it has been smooth so far. It feels almost the same as stock, with some great perks.

Just got a tf101

EOS4 (4.2.2) is about as stable as custom roms go and very fast/ responsive, especially when used with Timduru's KAT kernel (Believe it or not its smoother than my tf300t in a lot of things:crying, I cant really speak for CM10.1 but my short play around with it seemed stable. EOS3(4.1) is completely stable but not being worked on anymore and missing the features of 4.2.
JoinTheRealms and I are both on the EOS 4 band wagon. I showed my EOS 3 (4.1) back in December to a friend with an Infinity (TF700) and he said mine was smoother, quicker and butterier than his running 4.1.
Heck, I like EOS 4 so much I wrote up this guide: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...ficial-faq-teameos-4-android-4-2-1-tf101.html
IMO, EOS 4 is rock solid. It has a few minor drawbacks, (SOD when full sized SD card inserted) but I am running Preview 181 and have over 200 hours of uptime on it currently. Everything I need works (Bluetooth HID, Bluetooth Tethering, WiFi, GPS, SD, microSD, headphones, etc.)
Thank you
