Mhh Camera MX doesn't work and the other app is awful. Any patch to activate it on default camera app?
If you have Bayer (RED) lens Defy, it should be a default feature, but if you have GREEN lens Defy, it's not very possible to record HD with your little baby
Yeah my Defy is red lens, by default the camera recorder records on hd?

defy/defy+ doesn't support 720p recording except on MS2GINGER . there will be stable ICS ROM likely in a month,or you can try the nightlies.

Yes, MS2Ginger allows 720p recording but it's useless because of low framerate ~15fps.
Best balance between high enough resolution (848X480) and decent framerate (24fps) is in WIUI ROM by Wajk.

Well I've been a long time MIUI user so didn't knew that!
But anyway the point is, framerate is more important than resolution for a decent video experience.

You can get 720p only on Moto ROMS like the following:
Walter79's MS2GINGER
Prasanna modified blur ROM
I was on base 1321-asiaretail and both these ROMs worked well.
As far as the usability of 720p of these ROMs I am not so sure because I dont use it and have not compared it with my digicam.

Because of SoC camera device the Defy green lens have no 720p recording.
What about red lense?

for red lens exist the "red lens camera patch" and of course I think all ROMs after oct 2012 contain this patch.

My idea is that like we may see, the other AOP rom (customized rom) support 720p only for Defy red lense ; Defy Plus red lense AND Defy plus green lense

and install CM 10.... all works fine but my camera quality become low.....now it takes pictures like VGA camera.....

This is a well known problem with Defy after CM9. It is due to the locked bootloader and old camera libs.

The camera problem exists for CM9 and above. The camera quality will be best in gingerbread based ROMs.

One more thing. Video recording, too, has noticeable decrease in quality along with decrease in frame rate. But it's quite okay to use. A 720p patch is also available for stock GB based ROMs and lately in CM10 and above too, but the quality is the best in GB ROMs.

Try Camera JB/ICS or lgCamera. You get them free on the play store.

Google has just launched new "Google camera" application. I have used it in Xperia UltraKat v2.1.1 ROM. Photo Sphere function can work but I got FC in setting in normal camera function. CAn anyone solve this problem?

Indeed. I've installed Google Camera on CM-11 and the video recording is not working but it isn't nether the Settings. Any solution or we should just wait??
