Hi,
Whenever I have more than one browser window open, every so often the Galaxy Tab will vibrate a couple times when opening a new browser window, the page won't load and the browser would close automatically. What does this mean?
-Thanks
Happens with me also...whether I use the stock browser or dolphin...though with dolphin it happens much less...

I found that the "solution" for that probkem is to use a browser not based on WebKit, as it's painfully clear the version in the Tab is really crashy. Look for Opera, Firefox or Skyfire. The others (like Miren, Dolphin...) are all WebKit based, and as such they might make the issue better but not fix it
also disable panoramic mode in the stock browser: with that on is a lot slower than a 600mhz Android phone!

Hi,
How would you disable 'Panoramic Mode' in the stock browser? I haven't downloaded any new browser(s) as of yet.
-Thanks
In the browser settings, second option, it's right below the zoom one.

It's hidden like in stock android phones. Type "about:debug" in address bar and go to settings in browser. Scroll completely down to UAstring and set the desktop mode. The browser forgets the setting so you have to set it again after restart I think.
Thanks didn't know about that..but tried it..checked desktop..and its still loading up mobile sites..ughhh really sucks

Install dolphin hd browser - I wasn't going to do the about: browser crap every time either. User agent is in the settings menu in dolphin.

Install a different browser. IMO I have used them all and xScope 6 is the fastest. It also lets you set to desktpp mode so every site is full.
However if you want a mobile site, you can set the settings for each domain as well.
Ok thnx guys ima try both of em out see which one I like

Tried a few browsers and im liking xscope alot. thanks
I use dolphin for mobile and xscope for desktop. That way I don't have to switch the settings back and forth.
Since i updated to Jelly bean in my TMOUS HTC HD2, opera mini shows some funny behavior. For any site i open, it gives me a blank page with no letters or links or placeholders after full loading (attachment 1). I played around and found that holding down the power button and expanding the desktop showed the page. later on i also discovered that clicking on any textbox (eg. google search) and opening keyboard also shows the page (attachment 2). and after it shows, the page will keep showing even if i change expanded screen or close keyboard (attachment 3), only till i refresh the page or load another, which brings up the problem again.
searched, updated, to no avail.
maybe someone has faced this problem too?

default browser uses more data. i have a very limited plan. that's why opera mini is the best choice in my part
on a different note, opera mobile doesnt have this problem. loads well. if opera turbo turned on, its basically same as using opera mini.
two downsides, though:
no option to set the quality of pics to load. uses more data on that
somehow bypasses the glyph rendering which is done fine by the JB system, and opera mini too!!
type "about: config" in opera address bar for more settings

opera turbo is in the settings (basic settings) of "Opera Mobile". its not the same as opera mini but turning on turbo makes the web pages go to opera servers first, get 'adjusted' and go to ur device; just what happens in opera mini (afaik)

you could use javelin browser, go to setting, request desktop view.
good luck!

What's the point to not giving the choice which view would you like to? Any new website you have to open twice
Thanks for replies :good:
I use Dolphin Browser HD. You only need to click the option "request desktop view" once. Then all succeeding browsing will be on desktop view on any day.
