I want to know if i can install twrp on HTC hd2 Leo from goo manager? Or other way? I have a galaxy 2 Hercules with twrp and its awesome I want install this recovery on my wife phone
I saw a twrp in the NAND Dev section a while ago but I haven't really seen it since, so I don't know if it even got out of beta stages. The last time I checked barely anything was working on it, although it did have the basic functionality of flashing ROMs. Anyway, if you can flash it, it probably won't be via this 'goo manager' app.
Thanks men. I found a recovery image for leo in team win web. I have to flash from the fastboot.
Don't try to flash that recovery image, because it's not working, if you want a working one download it from xylograph goo folder
Search for it on native SD thread

got an old hero, just laying there. then i read a thread about sense 3.5 and so on here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20595282
i have an desire hd and an samsung galaxy nexus, but i have never ever rooted or something so i start to learn with my hero.
Anyone who can link me to a page where i can learn to do this, and get whats in that link on my hero?
thx
I found this in the development thread sticky.

I didn't read the whole thing but it looks okay. If you read anything about goldcard put it in the nice to know category. Androot is waaay easier. (Androot app is what roots your phone to allow custom recovery installation, custom recovery allows ROM installation)

you are on the right path by starting it with Hero. use androot to simply gain root access so you can start installing custom recovery image (it will replacing your existing recovery image). after that you can start experiencing new custom rom for hero. conclusion:
1- root your hero
2- install custom recovery
3- play around with custom rom
good luck!
For easy ROM install, after root install ROM manager, it will allow You to change recovery with Amon Ra recovery. Then only You need to copy ROM.zip to SD, run recovery, whipe, and install ROM from zip
Hi Folks,
Just got my 32GB Nexus 7 and am in the process of rooting and of course i will be no doubt trying out custom ROM's i see Paranoid Android and Liquid Smooth both of which i have used (current PA) for the Galaxy S3 also have ROM's for the Nexus 7, anyway i will be selling my laptop and just using the Nexus from here on in, my question is, is it recommended to download Goo Manager to download and Install ROM's, etc, i usually use CWM but am aware that Goo Manager seems to be the more updated and popular choice thesedays and seen as im new to the Nexus i thought you folks could offer some assistance here.
Cheers
Don't need goo manager to flash roms it is just like ROM manger to a degree. I only use it to install the latest twrp recovery and to to check for ROM updates. Seem like u already know how to flash so I won't get into that. Use this site and are others to get ROMs for our n7 store them in a folder ( I have one title Roms) and flash as normal.

Thanks pal, so do you just use CWM manager then?

Download it from the thread and boot into recovery manually. I wouldn't use goo or ROM manager to flash anything. You did already unlock the boot loader and flash a custom recovery correct? This requires a PC.

Also use CWM to flash roms. I use goo to check if there are ROM updates.
I didn't flash custom recovery but yeah unblocked the bootloader and rooted, cool I'll install cwm then.
Cheers guys

You can only install a custom recovery after being rooted. And the only way to root is to flash a superuser package with you guessed it, a custom recovery. You can't just install ROM manager and flash a custom recovery. You have to manually flash one with fastboot on a PC.

Hello Peeps,
I used Goo Manager to install the latest version of TWRP and it just hangs on a boot loop in TWRP and never launches.
Does anyone have a flashable older version of TWRP?
Please and thank you
Go to their website and there is a list of every image for grouper (n7 wifi) then download image and flash via fastboot. Sorry on my phone so I don't have a link for you but they are all there.
Future reference life may seem easier with apps like goo manager or rom manager but I will say you are 99% better off flashing recoveries through fastboot on any device

Okay so today I ran into a problem trying to flash 3.99 rc2 paranoid android via clockworkmod I didn't see that flashing it using cwm would cause baseband issues and now I have to flash the 4.3 radio but apperantly I need twrp for that so since I do not have a computer and goomanager won't download the latest twrp I was wondering if I can just download the latest version of twrp and flash it using clockwork mod? I know it sounds weird haha flashing a recovery via a recovery but anyways a quick reply would be thankfull

i never use a pc for android, use recovery tools from the market and choose twrp, download and it will reboot to flash, thats it. very convenient
Use this app and choose your recovery tool that you want.
Recovery Tools. look for it in the market.
I'm using this tool and it's great.
Hey thanks guys that really helped! did and now have twrp although it didn't download the latest one it downloaded 2.6.3.0 but still works!

Its not weird man its a zip file you should download and flash it like you would flash anything else. Simple no need to over think it man just go to TWRP thread and download the zip file of the latest which is 2.6.3.3 I believe. Also the thread name has a paperclip at the end of it so click on it and you will see all attached files within the thread. There you will see all of the TWRP zips... Download latest one and thats it..
Also are you sure you had the latest CWm since I find it hard to believe there is a version that wont work

Yes I'm %100 positive I had latest and the only version of cwm that would not cause issues was the version right before the 6.0.4.3 which I believe is the number if I remember correctly but all is good now I used that app I was recommended and flashed twrp using that and flashed the radio and am now on beanstalk with no problems but I will flash the latest version of twrp now that I know I can haha thanks for the info on that

Long story short: I want cm on the S4 after using it on the HD+, but CWM isn't booting up.
I've seen problems regarding simply accessing the recovery mode like needing to use the buttons twice after powering on, but the thing is that after getting to do this, for whatever reason, the phone boots up with the default recovery option (Android system recovery <3e>).
Some background on the phone would be that it is rooted, about one year ago when I bought it. I fear that I might have flashed something back then, but I don't have any of the files. To add, I sadly don't remember the method, but I can give some device info:
View attachment 2870784
The next and last thing would be that ROM manager says I have CWM installed and even with the reboot option of the app, it takes me to the default recovery.

Any similar experiences on how to deal with this? I'd at least have a means to access CWM.
Are you sure you're still rooted? If you're not sure I would re-flash root using motochopper

Well, yes. I do have things like tethering and su on the phone, plus root checking apps from the store say its rooted.
ROM Manager is crap. It says I have CWM 6.0.4.7 installed but when I boot into recovery it says 6.0.4.4.
I've been looking for a way to manually install the latest Touch version of CWM but so far I've come up with nothing. Maybe if you flash TWRP (via Goo Manager app) you'll then be able to flash CWM back over it. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries for Goo Manager to successfully flash the recovery.
Even better, I figured out how to flash CWM touch. The loki_tool downloaded here can patch any compatible img file and then flash your recovery directly.

The readme was very helpful.
