Hey guys,
I want to buy one of these Acer Iconia A500 tablets 32GB version, but it is WiFi only and since I live in Iran and it is not that common here, I want to know if I can use an external 3g to use GPRS/EDGE on this tablet.
Thanks in advance!
It seems to be possible with taboonay custom rom

Hello,
I love ICS and the most ports of ICS for the HD2 work like a charm. I use the SD ports because I want to be able to use WPH 7, too.
But I urgent need working VPN. So is there any SD port of ICS where VPN is running?
It would also be nice to have a kernel which allows more than 1200MHz. Is there any kernel for ICS SD out there?
Thank you.

Tytung already told that it doesn't work and the currently no ICS kernel supports more 1186 Mhz because it makes it unstable.

VPN doesn't work.
Can VPN be fixed in future releases or is this a general problem?
Hopefully it will be fixed.

Hi all,
I would like to know how difficult could be the porting between an a500 version and an a501. Is'n it simply a question of 3G drivers and build.prop file ?
Thanks in advance

Getting 3g to work in JB is really rather easy. You can use the ppp widget provided the build was made with 3g support. waydownsouth and I had it actually running normal on biscuits. Getting GPS to work is a different story. Currently nobody has been able to get it working using an ics bootloader, and only limited success on the rare hc bootloader build. The 501 uses a completely different GPS radio.

Yeah ... the stock defy (GB and Froyo) kernel don't support OTG, but in the custom kernel thread is planned OTG support :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
