I've been searching the forum for any news on that matter.. haven't found anything.
Any informations on that topic I've missed?
Is it likely that custom kernels will be able to change the colour settings on our N7 in time?
All those different screen calibrations.. Some with more blueish screens, some with more yellowish screens (like mine).
Is it actually a hardware flaw when the screen has a yellowish tint or could that be resolved with custom kernels which are able to mess around with those colour settings?
Sorry to bump, I do know that there's nothing yet. My screen has a yellowish tint too so I am eagerly awaiting this. Anybody got any developments/heard anything?

I'm seeing some backlight issues with certain shades of grey on my Nexus 4. It happens in certain places in the settings menu (near the bottom where it blends into grey) and even TWRP's grey background when backing up a rom. Franco's gamma settings help a lot, but the problem is still noticeable at higher brightness. Does anyone else have the same problem or am i being too picky? My iPod touch 4g had a horrendous problem like this where a certain shade of grey would show all these dark blotches on the screen. I figured it was due to the LCD/backlight.
Seeing this on P.A, TWRP and Stock rom.

I have the same thing but I'm just now noticing it.
Also, this may be related, whenever I flash PA and go back into twrp recovery, it takes unusually longer to boot into recovery and then I see these yellowish streaks/distortion going throughout the screen in recovery and it appears to carry over into the ROM when I system reboot.
It's happened several times, but it appears to be only when I flash PA and it goes away when I flash another ROM+kernel. I'm going to see if I can reproduce it and take a picture of it next time it happens. But after the obvious streaks went away, I noticed those gray lines, but if you look closely, there's horizontal lines too making a grid, though the vertical lines are more apparent
I feel your pain.

I also have this problem and many others. I have read many threads but no one really has the answer. I tried different Kernels and it helps but its still there.
I dont think we are being to picky, its just that we like things to be as perfect as possible, but there is no such thing.

I have had this issue from my first nexus 4, which I had issued an RMA request about this problem. My second n4 was fine and this is definitely a defect of the LCD screen.
I've spoken to a few people and checked their Nexus 4's and sure enough, they've all got it too. I think i was being too picky. It really isn't noticable unless i'm in a dark room and the brightness is high and i'm focusing on the screen. Day to day usage, i almost forget about it. It also helps that it only shows up on a certain grey colour.
Its just an effect mate, Ive seen it on everyones screenshot when they are showing there settings menu or something.
Hello, I think my HD2 have screen bleeding. When i'm outdoor, I have hard time to see anything on display & there is a three white bright dots on display. Can I fix this problem or I need to replace display and digitizer ?
display is quite bad in outdoor bright sunlight so that maybe normal, white dots sound like maybe dead pixels.
Try posting some images of it if you can.
Also look at backlight setting for brightness & see if adjustment seems to work correctly as maybe have issue with LCD backlight !
Like you already are thinking, LCD is needed but some images would be good to confirm this & I would not re-use the current digitizer unless recently replaced & removed without any damage.
Can anyone make an ultimate fix for galaxy s4 smearing?
i dont think its possible to fix the smear issue but theres ways to avoid it
it cant be fixed because of the way the s4 screen works, it turns off pixels when youre looking at something black and than it has to activate them once the colors change
to avoid it replace blacks with dark greys

Hi guys,
I have an I9500 and when I install any custom rom I get the smearing issue. I solve it with Synapse using custom kernels. But when I do that blacks are not black enaugh, they are gray! It really looks ugly especially on Ambient Display. How can I solve this issue without grayed out screen? If you use Synapse like I do can you share your screen tab here?
This method doesn't work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259775
