Hey guys. I didn't back up my nook before I rooted it. I know, that's bad. I was wondering if anyone has the original nook image saved that then could spare? Its a nook simple touch glow light. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,
I have an issue with my Nook Color, which I attempted to root today, following the instructions found at InspiredGeek. (Can't post link) [Googled "install apks on nook color 1.2", should be in top 5 results, as "How to Root/Unlock Nook Color 1.2"].
I purchased a 2GB Micro SD Card, and flashed CWM to it and all, but when putting it in the NookColor and rebooting, the device gets stuck at the "Loading" screen, and I never reach the menu.
I followed all instructions, except for wiping at the beginning, since the Nook was already version 1.2. Is that the problem? Or is it something else?
Thank you very much in advance.
When rooting my nook color, i accidently messed up and the touchpad went out. I succesfully downloaded cyanogenmod, but deleted something i shouldnt have while in clockwork. Any suggestions to get my touchpad working again?
Hey guys,
I got a Nook Simple Touch Thursday evening. This morning, I powered it on and registered it on B&N. I imaged TouchNooter to a 2gb microSD via a microSD->SD adapter, inserted it into my Nook, and it brought the TouchNooter and the screen went dark successfully. However, since then, my device has been in a boot loop and all I can make it do is reboot. I ran the factory restore function built into it (Lower two buttons), but that did nothing.
I was planning to use the n2t recovery option in case this happened, but the links to it are dead. I tried CWM, but my Nook won't boot into it for some reason.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
Did you make a backup image before you started?

You might want to try TouchFormatter. I used it successfully to recover from a failed rooting attempt.
When you have your nook restored, be sure to check what firmware version is on your nook before you try to root.
If you have US Nook with firmware 1.2 then you will need to use Tinynoot.
Be sure to make a back up of your nook before you try to root.

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately, I already returned my Nook, for a number of reasons, so I can't do anything now.
Again, thanks anyway though. Maybe this will prove useful for another noobie.
I just modded my daughters Nook Color using the following instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227
Everything went great but now do I have to block ota's? Also can I sideload like I did on my Nook Tablet? Thanks for the help everyone!

1) If you installed CM7 or CM10 internally on the Nook Color you do not need to worry about OTA updates since you no longer have BN firmware. Yes you can side load apps in CM7 or CM10. "Enable unknown sourses" in settings-security.
2) If you just rooted the Nook Color and retained the stock firmware you may still get OTA updates. Enable "unknown sources" to sideload apps. Read the threads on how to block otaupdates on stock firmware.
I did install it internally so that is great and so is sideloading! I did have a problem this morning though. This is my daughters and she had ran the battery completely dead. I charged it and tried to turn it on and it wouldn't do anything. I recharged it again and I held the on button for like 20 seconds and then again and it came on booting to cm7. The same thing happened to my sons tablet (only rooted no cm7) yesterday and when I did it, it went back to factory settings. Ah well. Any ideas on the power problem? I understand this is the color forum but just mentioning the tab as I thought it might be related. Thanks!!!!!

Once the Nook Color goes completely dead it will not turn on until the recharge level is at 15 percent or more. It may be the same for Nook Tablet since they both use the same charger/cable. Did you lose root due to an ota update? You will get better support for the Nook Tablet in the Nook Tablet forum.
Thanks for the help on my color i was wondering bot the power level. I will post on the tab forum thanks again!
Hello,
I hope someone can help me.
After letting my son play with my Nook Color it came back to me with a CM7 based ROM image on it which identifies the device as a Nexus S. He does not really remember how he did this, and he is not very interested in helping me fix it.
Here is what it has: CyanogenMod-7-07112011-NIGHTLY-encore, Build number GRJ22, Android 2.3.4.
It does not have CWM on it; when one tells it to boot into recovery it tries to do some kind of restore to stock ROM (at least that's what it looks like), fails, and tells me to reboot.
If I hold the nook key while booting, I get a boot menu identified as "Encore U-Boot Menu by j4mm3r. 1.2 port + extras by fattire"
Because it identifies as a Nexus S, Rom Manager does not want to install the Nook Color CWM Recovery on it.
How can I get a current ROM based on CM10, with a current CWM Recovery on it?
I would appreciate any help in getting this device into a usable state again.
