[Q] contacts restore - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I flashed jellyblast according to --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679563
I've lost my contacts after flashing since I'd not taken backup of contacts.
but I had taken nandroid backup in CWM...
can i get back my contacts?

use searchbutton or ask the dev from the rom!

Restore back via CWM. Go to contacts, click the menu button, click import/export, and then export to sd card. Then flash the custom rom, go to contacts, click menu button, click import/export, and select import from sd card. Now you have your contacts.
Search before posting.

Titanium backup and contacts

Does Titanium Backup not backup your contacts? Did a backup on all apps and data on my wife's phone, did a reset, restored all apps and data, but contacts are not there.
Not to sure if it does as I've never tried it, but have you tried restoring Contacts.apk or Contacts Storage in Titanium Backup.
Also for future reference, I'd recommend backing up your contacts to your Gmail account or to your SIM card.
+1 sync with google in future, fool proof backup of your contacts, and pc synch

Is there any app like this, that doesn't require root ????
I backed everything up with titianium then flashed a kernel and for some reason I couldn't restore the files

TB restores contacts perfectly, the file to restore is
[contacts/calls]contacts storage
google sync sucks, so many duplicated contacts it messes everything up and then trying to fix it makes an even bigger mess until it doesn't work at all
you can also use this but is not as good as TB:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010498
How do I back up the old one and install this one?
And save all the info like Whatsapp, Facebook, Msn messenger data?
For me the best solution is Titanium Backup. Always does its job

It depends on what type of backup you want. Do you want to restore the apps onto new rom?
You can boot into clockworkmod and do a nandroid backup. This would backup entire nand. You would just simply then flash same nand partition and restore rom back when needed.
If you simply want to backups your apps/app data then you can either do the nand backup and then use appextractor to restore apps from the backup to new rom or you can use Titanium Backup to backup/restore all your apps/app data.

Really?! I've done this before and all worked fine, but I always use Titanium Backup as a failsafe method.

You are probably using a buggy version of CWM and it isn't backing up your app data from sd-ext maybe.
Or he's only choosing to restore sd-ext and not data too.

Thanks for your reply everyone. The issue is I am in the process of changing my sd card as I currently have a 1gb card. And most roms recommend at least 2 gb or more.
Yes indeed I do want to copy all apps/memory into new rom if possible?

How to restore apps only from CWM backup

So what happened was I was dumb enough to try and flash a theme on a non-deodexed stock rom. I got boot looped.
What I did was I made a back up with CWM. My SD card didnt have enough space though so I got an error message with regards to having an error with android secure. What I did was copy the incomplete CWM backup, and the .androidsecure folder in my sd card.
My question is, can I make/edit the zip file so I can restore via CWM all my apps? Not the whole rom (cuz its broken) - just the apps.

You have two options friend-
 One is-Go to CWM then choose Backup and Restore option and you will find there a option named Advanced Restore.select it and you can see your backed up rom.then select it and you will see more options; to restore the apps only, select the Restore Data option from there. well.... you have done to flash the apps not whole rom.
If not works....
:thumbup:Another is-Extract your backed up rom's data folder archive and then go to- /data/apps/****.And install the apk files of your backed up rom from here...
Give me a thanks if I have a bit success to helping you....

My backup was corrupted since I didnt have enough space in my SD card. So that didnt work. As for extracting the data, the app folder only includes apk's of apps which are saved in internal memory. I'll just redownload my apps. I still hit thanks for your effort to help.
