Any update so far.. im downloading it :fingers-crossed:

waiting update
What's new ?

I got the OTA update, it was only 5.6 megs. Let's see what it does. My phone is rebooting right now.
Still on LRK! Oh well! I'll try updating via KIES and seeing if I get something from there

I was on LRQ and I got the OTA update too.
The phone is rebooting right now.
EDIT: I did the update via OTA, but it failed to install (Idon't know why).
Now I need to download the full rom and try again.

I'm on LRQ and I'm installing this update via Kies. I hope that the Touchwizz problem of missing icons for applications installed on the SD-Card has been resolved

Ohh no, on last minutes download failed...downloading again...
If someone tested, please tell us what is difference...I belive it has to be...

Update detail: Better stability ("meilleure stabilité" in french)
Rebooting now.

What else did you expect?
Stock LRQ [slim line] > NoteCore 14.1

Ok, my Note is now as usual for a DBT firmware reinstalling some german applications... I've a new version of S-Note too...

right...the update size is not big, just 5.7 MB...So i think it has to resolve some bugs and increase smoothness...may be

Typical size for a kernel update. Looking inside the OTA file from Sammobile, there is nothing more.

This firmware is as smooth as LRQ. Not more.
After a reboot, i've _not_ lost icons for applications on my SD-Card (I've created custom folders). For me, it's a BIG plus.
I'm still root !!!

I plugged my phone in to my PC and loaded up KIES and no update. So this isn't an official update, it's an official leak! At least at the moment!

nothing change.

[UPDATE] 2.2.1 official through Kies 1.5.3.101_3.102 for CPW and XEU product codes

Woohoo!
Looks like the official 2.2.1 is on Kies now. I tried earlier today with Kies v100 but got
nothing, upgraded Kies to v102 and got told I've got a firmware upgrade available!
Downloading now.
I'm on CPW product code in the UK. I haven't done anything to my registry settings or installed the Kies Patcher.
Get Kies v102 from here I don't think older versions will show you anything
Whats the version seen?
Already posted?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885884
Ok, yeah just saw that, but this should also let people know its available for CPW too. If Mods want to delete this thread, I'm fine with it. Cheers

Kindly post the details between the test build JPY and the official Kies released JPY
Any changes have done ?
or its the same ROM which was avialble through reg hack couple of days back?
Is this a diffrent ROM....
Kindly post it
What build details? From the About Phone options under Settings?
It says
Firmware: 2.2.1
Baseband: I9000XXJPY
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1

And after dialling *#1234# I get:
PDA: I9000XXJPY
PHONE: I9000XXJPY
CSC: I9000OXAJPY
Build Info: 2010.12
What about *#*#44336#*#* ?
changelog and exact build date?
mine, which I got via Kies reg.hack:

Ok, didn't know about that code. Just tried it and looks like its EXACTLY the same!
Good news so no need to re-install then
Looks like it is the same, which is slightly disappointing as I would have hoped they'd addressed the wifi issue that's causing excess battery drain.
Does the product code stay the same of does it change to KOR as it did with the hack?

Mine stayed XEU, used registry hack. Even did a factory reset after upgrade (because product code did change to KOR when i upgraded to JPO and did a factory reset) and it stayed XEU.
I also do not have any draining problem (not because of wifi anyways), the battery is not so good as it was in JPO, but i'm getting 2-2,5 days of normal use and hoping that after some charging cycles it will be better.
XEU phone here, even checked the /efs folder and all references are XEU.
Grabbed Kies v102, installed and checked no spoof in the registry by reading it with registry patcher.
Plug in phone, launch Kies, finds the phone, firmware update - JPX is the latest apparently. What are people coming from? Perhaps it only works on JPO (last official release, right?).
This ROM has serious battery problems, 6 hours on standby with wifi off today and it had died!
That's terrible battery usage. Did you factory reset, clean cache and format internal sd? Running any mods etc? Sounds like there's a problem, and I don't think it's the ROM as most peoples experiences are much better than that. SGS Tools on the market may shed some more light on what is using up the battery for you.
Battery usage (from about phone):
Display: 85%
Cell standby: 7%
Wi-fi: 5% (wtf it's disabled?)
Phone idle: 3%
Have never factory set my phone, tbh the whole point of Android updates is you shouldn't need to. Consider typical user (e.g. non techie) updates via Kies and gets this issue, what then?
I'll backup with Titanium and give a factory reset a try...
what's difference between factory reset and hard reset? which is better after a firmware upgrade?

Ppl with battery problems, please disable any lag-fix and see how that goes.
I am using stock JPY without any lag-fix and my battery is fine really.
(wifi on all the time)
Same as JPO tbh.
it seem like ppl using darkky's lagfix are having battery problems.

Nice. dbdata is not included so will need to be taken from jq1. can someone please confirm bootloader is not signed?
Thanks for the links!
By the way, I was trying to search the web for torrent files of the
stock roms. Didn't had much luck with that.
Do you know if there are torrent files for these sweet things?

Maybe you already not that, but bootloader is signed but not blocked on 2.3.3, this is the case for the European Galaxy Tab P-1000 ROM. So I can't guarantee on these one, but I think it will be the same bootloader.

Yes, sorry, I meant if the bootloader was secure. I believe all GB so far has the bootloader signed but not secured.
BTW, JPJ looks okay. Not much different from JPI AFAICS (still missing SIP option in calling menu). Rooting with JQ1 works.
My daughters tab is rooted and is running 2.2. I cant get ota update bc im on wifi only. If i download this will it take me back to stock 2.3? I dont care if i lose root

Latest Firmware

Sorry for being such a noob but I have never ordered a device internationally before. Anyways I have just rooted my device (SM-P605) and I'm curious what the latest firmware is because I don't believe I get OTA upgrades here in the States. Right now I'm running Android 4.3 on baseband version P605XXUBMJ4 and Build Number JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6.
Is there a newer version I should be using? Trying to check via the official bounces me to Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Also, are there plans for Kit Kat in the future? Or perhaps there already is a mod that includes the latest version of Android.
MJ9 is the Latest i guess

This is why you can't get OTA updates - because you are rooted.

Yes, but no release date is set, or known by us. Samsung said "soon".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601477
How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything. I also notice that my basebuild and build are running different numbers. How did that happen, is it a problem, and how do you fix it?

I'd also like to know if there is a specific version of the upgrade that I need to download. Region specific. I don't want to brick it. Will any download of P605XXUBMJ9 run perfectly on this device? Do I also need a certain file to upgrade the baseband?

You will not brick it, in the worst case you'd have to flash it again with another CSC. CSC is the region of your device. For a close shot, forget about the country and either flash US firmwares if your device is US, or EU firmwares if your device is anywhere from Europe.
No, it is included in the firmware file. There is absolutely no reason to look for a baseband file (or RIL).
Unless your driver somehow got screwed, which usually happens when you install wrong, or badly matched kernels. In that case you will hear very disturbed sound (this error is very clear, if you get this problem, you know 100% that it is there. It isn't like "did i hear a scratch in my speaker for a second?").

Get Odin, get the drivers, read the instruction. Just the usual odin procedure.
You don't need to unroot/re-stock, but if you are very paranoid, you can use a custom recovery to wipe /system before flashing (don't do it unless you know you need it. If you don't - you don't need to do it. I am only telling you this because you might want it in the future when you try many different modded ROMs).
Baseband and build v. can differ, this is not a problem nor something you should worry about.

No there isnt. When KitKat comes we get Multiuser Support.
You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Flashing an older firmware that the bootloader doesn't support will end up with a tablet hanging on the samsung logo. Just need to reflash newer firmware to fix
Flashing a bootloader for another device - you might as well throw it off a highrise and hope it still works when it hits bottom...
P600 and P601 roms WILL NOT work with the P605. It's like trying to use helicopter parts to fix a car engine....

Don't needed. You can root the normal cf-auto-root with latest sock without problem.
After we pm chat last days about rollback to T900UEUAND4 as unique possibility for rooting, i decided to do a last try before that, and luckily works perfect:
-just did a factory reset to restore from B3 recovery i been trying to prev installed T900UEUANI1 stock, wipe caché with stock recovery, odined cf-auto-root and voilá, just rooted!
No need to do the old B3-rollback-prior-D4 method now. Just a normal auto-root with no hassling.
