CM7 has FP support.
All GB roms.

NottachTrix
I didn't think CM7 supported the fingerprint reader. The best compromise I've found is NottachTrix. It support fingerprint reader as well as webtob. The installer allows you to minimize Blur and select other options such as an overclocked kernel.
Oh... Ok. I was thiking about flashing thr Neutrino Rom or the mrom. But if both do Not Support fp i wont do that....
Is the nottachtrix Rom worth flashing?

It works in Neutrino. Don't know about the others.
Ok, thank you. I think i am just going to try some ROMs on my own.

i've tried neutrino and mrom, can confirm both fp unlock is working, if I'm not mistaken all cm7 based roms have working fp sensors.
FP only ever didn't work in early versions of CM7. Nowadays it works in virtually all variants and derivates of CM7. I don't think you need to as much as give it a second thought, so long as you stick to GB ROMs.
Standard cm-7.2.0-olympus (http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=olympus) supports fingerprint sensor, but not in the same GOOD way of stock GB Moto ROM.
In the stock ROM if you enable fingerprint you can still use PIN choosing with a button...but in this CM 7.2 if you enable fingerprint you are unable to use PIN.
This is not very good if you are not able to use quickly/normally your naked finger like with a bike-gloves or winter-gloves for example.
I miss stock ROM just for this feature!
Flash topsmarts. But, anyway, MIUI roms and ICS/JB doesnt support fingerprint

On Blur, you can't disable that feature. That's a pretty big security flaw.

I agree. Not having the OPTION to enable the regular lock screen options work on the fingerprint screen is a CM7 flaw. If the option was there, then it could be enabled at times when one is sure that the phone will not be lost and the added convenience of pin unlock may be required like in winter as you mention or when expecting an emergency. After the situation has passed then it could be disabled.
Few weeks back I was driving and needed to get a number from my phone book very urgently. The finger print driver hung just at that moment and I just could not unlock the phone and see what I wanted to see - and nor could I reboot the phone to reset the FP driver. I had to later do a battery pull to reboot the phone. ( I have the otterbox dedender case which makes it even more tough to do a battery pull)
Maybe if enough people add to this page, they will pick this up in the next CM release.http://code.google.com/p/atrix-dev-team/issues/detail?id=309
I did find later, though, that even on the FP unlock screen, if you press and hold down the power button you will get the reboot menu and can actually reboot the phone when the driver hang occurs. This is better than nothing, though I would have preferred a way to disable this and instead enable gestures so that only a secret gesture would allow the phone to be rebooted.
*hugs fingerprint scanner* ahh..I love you atrix.

I have FreeX10, and it's great, however, yes, while the camera does work, for some reason it does not work with barcode scanners...
Yeah I just flashed over to freex10 and themed it with green glow and installed cm settings. I did get my flash back so that is nice but the barcode scanner will just have to wait.

Indeed it is. All you need is some java experience. If it's not too difficult, I may do it myself! I need to brush up on my java anyways for pre college credit.
Edit: thought about it a bit longer, may not be the same implementation you think making it a bit hardet. Since I don't have access to a computer for three more days, ill think about it a while longer.

We should also come up with a cm7 compatible app since the stock one doesn't work
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Not to be disheartening but I think that the fingerprint sensor isn't always on as it is so if you do what you want it will probably be at the cost of battery power although I'm not exactly sure how much it would affect it if even at all.

Indeed.
Also FP is something totally new in all phones. And don't know if there is a function that detects in which way you are moving your finger.
FP Sensor its like a camera, that it took pictures when a finger slides on it.
Eg when the phone is locked with screen on, it is activated, and when it detects a finger, it pictures it.
Good luck if somebody makes it!

I'm gonna say no. there is no open access to the fingerprint sdk from motorola which has made it difficult to use for non-moto apps such as widget locker. it's difficult just to enable the fp scanner on outside apps, accessing its functionality further is even less likely.

The fingerprint scanner is made my Authentec and the SDK is freely available from them. http://developers.authentec.com/
However, I doubt that it exposes which direction the finger was swiped, and I'm pretty sure it's only on when the screen is waiting to be unlocked.
I had a Toshiba laptop with fingerprint scanner which supported scrolling. But it is possible it scans more than 1 line at once so it would know which direction you are sliding. I doubt that would be the case with the Atrix one but would love to be proven wrong

OP maybe you would be willing to try WidgetLocker. WL is a paid app but many people prefer it to other lockscreens, it supports fingerprint scanner and is very customizable.
I have used WidgetLocker and it is a great app. Great customization. There is also GOLocker or WP7 Locker. Both free and offer something different than a stock lock screen. It just depends on your preferences.
I use the CM7 lock screen with rings and a custom background. Disabled all things to do with the FP sensor. It was nice at first but now is more a gimmick as not even Motorola is trying to support it anymore.

I have been using CM9 on another phone (LG optimus 2x) its very cool, i like it and would like to flash something like this onto my atrix as i like the print reader and size/form of the atrix compared to the 2x.
But my question is.. I have noticed that CM7 from atrix.dev list the fingerprint reader as "not working", now this is onwe of the main points of the atrix?? why own an atrix if you dont use the fingerprint reader???
So which ROMS have the reader working? Is there a CM9 for atrix?
Thanks.
As far as I know you need the motoBLUR aspects of the rom to work. So if that's true you wont find any cm7 or cm9 based rom with a working fingerprint scanner... the most you'll find in cm7 or 9 is the ability to use the fingerprint scanner as a trackpad...
Edit: there are a few pretty functional although still beta cm9 's out there. So far I have used jokersax and turls cm9 both work decent as a daily driver for me.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
There is CM9 alpha on the Atrix. It is lacking hardware acceleration, so it has some graphical issues as well as some camera issues, but can be used as a daily driver. I was running Turls build, and have run Jokers. I switched back to Cm7 only because I have a daughter that will be walking any day and needed the video camera function.
As far, as the Cm7 weeklies or Nightlies, the are both stable and fully functional for the most part. The only thing not working is, webtop. Fingerprint DOES work on Cm7, for navigation and unlocking. Hope this helps. I am currently running the latest nightly with no issues.

CM7 Weekly Fingerprint Scanner
If I remember correctly, the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone is working on the Weekly versions of CM7, you should check those out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337193
If you're looking for something similar to CM7, you could also check out Neutrino Rom, it uses the weekly's as a base, and should also have the fingerprint unlock working. It was pretty smooth, it was my daily driver until i switched over to CM9.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398819
The only rom that I have found that is de blurrified is neturino
Does anyone know 100%, if this is a feature (fingerlock) only applicable in/on this device?
I've added the cyanogen frameworks and settings gerrit commits, (including the blur commit) but an option just doesn't show up to turn it on or use it.
Maybe a third commit in say, cmparts, is needed (but I just can't seem to find) or it is device specific feature only.
Ideas?
Thanks.
(If this is the wrong place to ask this, or I have the wrong idea, kindly let me know, and ill correct it)

There was an earlier alpha build of CM9 (either turn or joker, i forget)
but it had a working fp sensor. Since then later builds only have the capability to flash a fpscanner.zip for navigation purposes, but its something Ive yet to be able to get working.

Fingerprint reader in CM9
Let me clarify on fingerprint reading in CM9. Jokersaxs builds (which are updated more often) don't have any support for the fingerprint reader (which annoys me too, but I use it because it's worth it for CM9 IMHO). The .zip on jokers site doesn't do anything as far I can tell. turl's builds have the fingerprint reader working for navigation but not unlock.
Almost all non-blur builds don't have fingerprint reader support, the only one I have found, is Neutrino rom which apparently works and is a CM7 based rom.
Gd luck.

the fingerprint has worked perfectly in the ROMs Neutrino 2.6 and ICS (AOKP and CNA).
the CM9 Joker (0.4.5.1), the fingerprint is not working and when I try to enter advanced / fingerprint navigation, I get FC.

There are other apps on there for making it work. Stil waiting for CM to include it as an advanced option.

These apps rely on proximity sensors (which this tab doesn't have) or light sensors which are extremely inaccurate. So while they can sometimes work they usually don't. A simple change in the ambient light will turn your screen on or off. I think we just have to keep waiting and hoping that the cm11 (or w/e rom you use) crew manages to crack LG's code for using the magnetic sensor.
My GPE seems to work with the IVSO cover/case.

Searching the stock rom for this app, if I find it I will try installing and/or flashing it to see what happens. Here goes nothing.
EDIT: App does not install when trying to execute the apk. And flashing it will put it in /system/app but it doesn't appear to do anything. Maybe I have no idea what I'm doing but here is a zip file containing the apk and odex file.

Interesting.. I reckon we're deeper down tho then this app. Simply put, the proximity sensor isn't picked up as set-up in the AOSP roms fro v500. We need the proximity sensor to be picked up as hardware in order for any app to do anything. The application I linked you, where it used light to shut off the tablet can also use proximity, but since it's not there on our pad, we're left in the cold for now.. This app may work better once the proximity sensor is in. But usually CM and AOKP and so forth always included this feature themselves without the need for flashing anything.. At least for the Nexus 2012 I had, and well, all other devices kindof turn off when you hold them close to your face, simply because the proximity sensor is recognizing it, to turn off.
With that said, I'm still downloading this file.
